I would add all the Batman Arkham games as well. Those games literally paved the way for multiple modern day games and created a brilliant combat system. Arkham Asylum, city, origins and knight are absolutely phenomenal games.
You can even run Arkham Asylum and city on old PCs with less than 1gb graphic card and you can run Arkham Origins on minimal settings with 128mb VRAM as long as you have 8GB of normal RAM.
Not to mention Shadow of Mordor and War!
Absolutely. From the graphics, the story, to the combat mechanics. Can keep you engaged for hours if you're into Batman! I wonder if they are making a similar next game in the series... Did you play Gotham Knights (hope I am saying it right)? I thought it was all right, on my PS5, but kind of lost interest some months ago. Might get back to it. It's just a different feel without Batman (but was enjoying it)...
@@zuhairreza Gotham Knights was very bad in my opinion. The original Arkham series still remains an "S" tier game.
Couldn't agree more
Man I fucking love origins
The original splinter cell games. I can play them over and over.
Anyone remember freedom fighters ?? still waiting for its sequel
Yes bro! For ps2. Phenomenal game.
Bruuhh❤
@@jd87926I just replayed it on steam deck. Brilliant
Dudes that game is amazing!
Best game ever. Can't believe we don't have something similar yet.
Mad Max is an amazing game that flew under the radar..definitely a must try
Reason I clicked this video was to see if Mad Max was one of the ones listed. The crunchy and satisfying melee and car combat elements alone keep it in my regular rotation!
It didn't fly under the radar it's just old, they made a movie out of it and everything.
I was 18 when the first Max Payne game dropped. And trust me, it did not fly under any radar what so ever. It was the game EVERYONE was talking about. And it flew of the shelves!
@@rylter Mad Max. Not Max Payne
@@BryantMoore87 I thought you were trolling at first, but like the other guy, I think you might be talking about Max Payne, which of course did phenomenal numbers and yes, did have a movie made, unlike Mad Max, which was the reverse
Call of Juarez, splinter cell blacklist, far cry 3, half life 2, prince of Persia warrior within,
Instant like because mentioning the best AC (Black Flag) is the best thing to do.
My favorite of the 3 I have played.
You are my friend
For me,and I am ready to have a respectful debate with you about this,it’s Origins
@@Yipeeahh Origins is great, but nothing can beat that feeling of the first proper sea battles whilst chanting sea shanties
I played the game only one time, but the memory just stay
I'd put Days Gone in this conversation.
Me to best game in hes genre
the story is cheesy, but I really enjoy it
Great Game but not legen … wait for it... dary!
I'm currently in my first playthrough of it
@@edenianking4085 Enjoy! I thought it was a lot of fun. Shame we never got a sequel
I just bought Prototype this year due to a list like this one. Haven't given it a go yet, but I will. Also, Sleeping Dogs deserved so much better.
Its an amazing game!
Man sleeping dogs is so good deserved a sequel....
Prototype is OK. Run around and smash. So-so story and dated graphics.
@@ThiKu For the time it was released in,it was amazing.
Also the sequel where you are chasing "yourself" is a cool twist.
Could never get prototype 2 to work on pc.
Infamous 1 & 2
Sleeping dogs is the greatest open world crime game ever made. Beats any gta game easily.
Disagree, gta 4 and sanandreas clear
Saints row 1 & 2?
The story of sleeping dogs is just superb compared to those of gta and saints row.
Mad Max game (2015) is an underrated gem
GTA IV will stay in the hard drive of my PC as long as I'm alive.
Why
My favorite GTA III still holds a place in my heart but storywise, what an excellent game.
I’m this way with The Witcher 3
@@VictusG I haven't played any of those Witcher games.. do I need to play the previous two for story?
@@GluttonyIsMySinI didn’t . Definitely play it
Prototype was so good. I'd like to see another game in the series
I'd add Castlevania Lords of Shadow as a top game to replay
Just finished my first ever witcher 3 playthrough after playing the first two games years ago (played the witcher one in 2008) ported my witcher 2 save that i kept in my google drive for years(btw i spared Letho bqck then and i was glad to meet him again and fight beside him in kaer morhen, ciri became a witcher and ended up with yen), beat the main quest and the two dlc and got the best endings in all of them , it was a wild journey that im proud to have finished ,the witcher games will hold a special place in my heart forever❤
Excellent list, excellent video! Liked and subscribed ☺️
Thanks for the sub!
Just revisited the Arkham series. Really loved it
Easily one of my favorite series.the combat is amazing especially on the hardest mode
Also Dragon Age: Origins and Chrono Trigger.
NFS: Most Wanted (2005) has given me a love for cars i never will lose again
I am currently playing max Payne and I am really enjoying it. It brought back the childhood memories.
Black flag was just so good. I might have to go back and play it again. I’m currently running through the fable series again so it’ll have to wait lol
Bro! Im playing Fable too! 😅
Maan i wish they would remaster Prototype. Sucha cool game it was.
Nice video m8.
I still play Dungeon Keeper 1 now and then. I know it’s really old, but damn is it good.
Oh and what about Sunset Overdrive!!!!
great list just picked up prince of persia for game cube! and i almost always have Sleeping Dogs installed on my playstation just in case that itch kicks in. if i werent re playing GTA 4 id totally be up on that again. the hand to hand combat is so satisfying. hell all of it is, obviously.
Sleeping Dogs was great. Sniped it like 8 years ago in steam summer sale. Worth it.
A bit short for open world, but for the story a good length. Remembering it took me around 30hrs.
I can proudly say that I have played all of these games more than one time.
Good video. You gotta check out the Dishonored games!
There’s no gameplay like them
Great list! For me also: all Uncharted games, Horizon Zero Dawn, Days Gone, Last of us pt 1, Far Cry 4, Unraveled.
I remember falling and literally rolling down a pair of stairs in sands of time and every time I rewinded time it was at the moment of the fall which killed me😅
max payne 2 is my favourite old game by far, gameplay is still fun but short
Great list ! Have played the majority and agree they are all classics.
My further suggestions would be:
1. Mass Effect 2 - Epic Space Opera - Recruit a team to go on a suicide mission. 3rd person shooter. Great story and voice acting. Addictive gameplay. No need to play the first.
2. The Witcher 2 - Just as intricate and detailed as Witcher 3. I think I enjoyed it more than the latter. No need to play the first.
3. Dead Space - Amazing sci fi survival horror game.
4. Star Wars Knight of the Old Republic - basically Baldurs Gate 3 but in Star Wars. Epic tier game. Avoid spoilers if possible.
4. Fable 1 and 2 - Fun and light hearted fantasy RPG game with great core gameplay and exploration. Fable 1 recently remastered.
Decent list. I know many have said it, but to play witcher 3 for the first time is an experience I envy.
Really like the yakuza series. Fallout 3 is another nostalgic game for me
Vietcong (2004, Pterodon) was a great single-player FPS.
Prince of Persia is an absolutely amazing game and I am sooo glad it's on this list.
Far cry was one of the first fics with good ai- where when you snipe someone , everyone around him will notice and radio in your location.
For me, TESV: Skyrim is the number one game I always go back to.
I couldn't agree more dovakiin
Good list. I revisited F.E.A.R 2, , Jak & Daxter, Beyond Good and Evil, Timesplitters 2 and the Darksiders series this year. Gold
Beyond Good and Evil such a good game
No
Yeah, I played all of these games except RDR (only one not released on PC) and I can recommend them all. Well... maybe except Black Flag, that one didn't click with me I didn't like the setting and focus on ship battles.
There are tons of games I want to revisit, but there is no time for that. There are few interesting picks you may not know about, but that are definitely worth playing: Jade Empire, Enslaved Odyssey to the West, No One Lives Forever, Vampire The Masquerade - Bloodlines, Clive Barker's Undying, Risen, The Chronicles of RIddick Escape from Butcher Bay, Vietcong, Tron 2.0.
I want to replay chronicles of riddick but it doesn't play on anything. I don't think it's possible
@@stephenmurray8559 Try Assault on Dark Athena, it includes remake of Escape from Butcher Bay. That one should work, but you'll have to pirate it, there is no way to buy it anywhere. Used to be on GOG but not anymore.
Impeccable list.
_Black Flag_ and _Just Cause 2_ is my favorite old games
Replaying GTA San Andreas right now. Loving the remastered graphics and button mapping. Best GTA ever made.
I loved both episodes of "No one lives forever" from 2000 and 2002, but they seem to be quite hard to her hold of these days. Cheesy FPS spy games set in the sixties, with some hilarious dialogue.
how do i get the nfs mw? i dont have a pc that can get disks in
What about the Soul Reaver series?
Too right I play them every year myself.
The uncharted series! Really underrated imo
W List. Every game in the list is good
I played and finished 6 of these long LONG time ago and not interested in others. But thanks.
Prototype is godly
Sleeping dogs deserves a sequel.
I am replaying Witcher 3 on ps5 after completing it on ps4 couple years back. Witcher 3 is awesome in 4k.
Also i believe Max Payne needs revival to 2024 standards. It will be massive hit.
Tony hawks: underground, tomb raider underworld, need for speed: underground, Bully
How tf did i play 8/10 of these games. I loved them all and out of the few games i've played...am glad i chose these.😊
there is a multiplayer version of maxpayne, calle double action: boogaloo. Its great too, but doesnt have many players anymore.
It's funny how most of these games I have played or want to play some day. Other older games that I like to play a lot are Grand Theft Auto IV. I really like the dark tone of it. And Resident Evil 5 which is a really fun game in my opinion and not at all a bad one in the series.
This video makes me feel I'm old but gold too 😅
Prince and Snake Eater is the highest replayability for me
Playing Ac Black Flag now, it's so chill to just explore with a ship, this makes me wonder why there are no other pirate games at this level, its in a league of its own, aztec puzzles, hidden treasure, sea shanties, some about this game feels so comforting and all the other ship battle and melee fight mechanics are decent but it is such an experience which you might never get in any other game.
Good list. I'd still put Dishonored both 1/2 in the list, and I know Last of Us have been remastered, but as well.
I would add populous: the beginning. A truly unique game.
Also warcraft 3. If you can hunt down the original discs and not the latest version on battlenet.
There has never been any game that comes close to the perfect greatness of Another World.
Dying light 1. Masterpiece
yes
I agree with Just Cause 2 and Assassin's Creed Black Flag; haven't played the others. Two of my other personal favorites are Vanquish and Horizon: Zero Dawn.
So I am not the only one who rather play old games than 90% of games releasing nowadays? Remember that game you wanted to play so bad in 2011 and for some reason couldn't? Yea I play those games and man there are a lot. Just finished Twilight Princess and started Skyward Swords.
Project IGI is my all-time favorite.
I’m very surprised that no one has mentioned Half-Life 2. It’s one of those games that is as near perfect as you can get.
I thought you were going to bring up actual old games...
Thief Gold and Thief 2, pure amazing, perfect, games. Age of Empires 2. The Dig. Stuff like that. Those are all amazing games that should always be replayed
Kingdom Come : Deliverance
Batman Arkham Series
Far Cry 4
Dragon Dogma : Dark Arisen
2:50 The game of my childhood was NFS II, kiddo. ;)
Almost time for my annual playthroughs of Fallout New Vegas and Skyrim lmao
I revisit Darksiders 1, 2 and 3 all the time. And of course Borderlands.
Remember mercenaries 2.
That was a great game
Mass Effect trilogy...2 being the masterpiece
Loved all the Medal of Honor games
Ac black flag is the best ac game if you ask me. Such a fun game
Witcher 3 is definitely one of my favs. I'm on my 4th playthrough atm
4th?😂 how many hours has that taken I’m still in my first
@@myles5388 it's been over at least a good 6 years, lol
Oblivion. My favorite ES!
Batman Arkham City or Knight everyone(or you can go with City) ?
Yo Gun was absolutely amazing before Red Dead redemption was gun original open world western ,I absolutely love the original three Prince of Persia's I had all three played them and beat them countless times I don't know what the hell happened and they just completely derailed the series kind of like Fable , Dead to rights was fun as hell too , Oh and w
Wrath Unleashed
From 2000-2015 we're the gaming ear 😢😢😢😢 no crash grab features no additional purchases no money hungry things etc.
Bioshock, Fable, AC Origins, GTA London, and i guess many more are missing.
All Metro and dishonored games both franchises are amazing
far cry 3 is a real masterpiece MAN ITS AMAZING i have completed its story about 5 times and played about 150+ hours
Fan of Bully and the first Mercenaries game on PS2.
Max Payne & M.P. 2 : The fall of Max Payne are a must-have.
Honestly every single Assassins creed game Up until Odyssey is worth playing, I would also include the Uncharted games as well.
Just cause 2 really is a great game to this day!!!
I have Just cause 4 which I love, but I see people leaving reviews on 2 & 3 saying to revisit them. Is there a significant difference between the 3 worth going back to?
2 is so so good, 4 is meh in comparison after you play 2
@@martillery yea?? Wow, ok. I’ll have to get it then lol.
4 just doesn’t hit the way 2 does
I have rdr2 but still 30fps on ps5, so no start play. Tomb raider and uncharted are the best serries of my doughters list. Prototype remake will be good option. I like infamous second son so much.
How can i get those moves in sleeping dogs?
Every game on this list is an EPIC adventure and I've played them all.
Does Prince of Persia work on modern hardware?
need for speed hot pursuit was awesome
Oh god I'm feeling old... Almost any of these camo out after I stopped playing games and won't even run smoothly on my laptop. :-D
How about real classics? Half Life 1, Unreal, Rune (a real unknown hidden gem!) or Gothic 1-3?
Those all set really new standards in their time.
Maybe not Rune, hardly anyone knows about it, but it's got a really simple but great melee combat system imho.
BEST SINGLE PLAYER VIDEO GAME BY MY CHOICE IS
TOM CLANCY'S SPLINTER CELL 2002
Shadow of the Colossus & The Last Guardian
Where can i get Red Dead Redemption 1 for PC?
Mafia 2 is definitely on the list as well (legendary storyline)
FC3 ❤
Riders on the storm in nfs underground was peak ps2
My 2024 revisit list is:
Max Payne trilogy (2 is best, 3 sucks) - done
GTA 3, Vice City, San Andreas, 4 & 5 - in progress
Assassin's Creed Black Flag
Tomb Raider / Rise / Shadow
Just Cause 3
The Witcher 3 if there's still time in 2024
