In this hilariously overworked Dream SMP Original Song, there is allusions to Lore and Drama - Wilbur Soot, fresh off his Vilbur arc, is going around apologizing to everyone except the other half of the Crimeboys, Tommyinnit. The Drama is entirely limited to a silly little block game called Minecraft - where somehow a bunch of streamers take Minecraft Game Mechanics and turn them into something out of a soap opera. Speaking of soap operas, there are so many of your favorite Dream SMP characters featured but not by name, like Technoblade. OH and also L'Manberg (or l'manberg or l'manburg - I don't discriminate) shows up. There is also mention of guitars and music and promises, and bombs, and maybe Ghostbur... November 16th allusions? Lore??? Imagine that! Okay I'm done now but I really hope y'all like this Crimeboys song :DDDDD

i’m coming back to this song after a while, and i just now noticed something.
In tommy’s chorus, he’s not saying ‘original’ lyrics, he’s saying what Wilbur told him. Tommy’s main part, instead of saying new things it’s repeated. I think it shows how he mostly followed Wilbur’s shadow throughout the whole story. How Tommy stuck with him despite his bad decisions in the past. I don’t know, just a thought!! But this is an incredible song
This is beautiful. I love the closing and opening of eyes as they sing. Especially at the pause at 3:10, after they sing 'and when we remember all the promises we broke,' where Tommy has his eyes closed, but Wilbur, the only time during the song, is looking at Tommy.
I love that moment, too!!!! I didn't do that, my editor, Dragon, did - and it's such a cool touch (ALSO IT WAS CRYROS IDEA IN THE FIRST PLACE). I'm so proud of them for putting something like this together with all these crazy little details!!!!

I love how despite how smug Wil's frame looks before the song the content itself is a sort of bittersweet apology in of itself. An apology that Tommy can't see. I think the Utah stream happened after this? Will you make a song base on that in the future

I probably won't be able to say anything during the premiere, so I'll spill it all out now:
Ferno, I think this song is already a masterpiece. I've only heard the unfinished, yet to be truly completed version, but that's how great things start, right? I love the concept of having a song between Wilbur and Tommy's burdened and... difficult... relationship with one another after Wilbur's revival and all the suffering Tommy has been through. The art is absolutely amazing that I can't express all my feelings about it in this, but that should give you an idea about how I feel. I feel like this is a tad bit dramatic, but who cares. You're an amazing sonwriter and singer, and judging by the many things I've already heard from the unfinished symphony before the premiere in... 16 hours... I know this song will be another great hit, juts like all the rest. Keep up the fantastic songs (and stories) and good luck on reaching 1000 subscribers! (Don't think I missed that '970 subscribers' count). Just remember that you're amazing

This song is so beatiful, I can't believe it! I can't even pick a favourite part, because i would have to quote almost all of it. Somewhat haunting, nostalgic, longing, not negative, bit sad.
It also fits surprisingly well with Wilbur's last stream?
Especially the line "the beginning of the end of a traged". Like, that was the beginning of the end, and now there is (probably) the end?
Also, a Land where no one stayed, because not even Wilbur stayed. And Tommy did never really receive a (verbal) apology.
And the ending certainly did not feel right.

i feel like this song is the closing of a musical. summarizing, saying goodbyes, remembrance.
EDIT: rewatching this months later i see all the details at the end. like how when wilbur fades out at the end, everything stops glowing except for the crossed out 'brothers' sign. thats such a cool but depressing detail.

I find myself coming back again and again to this song since I first heard it. It reminds me of a powerful opening number for an Act 2 of a musical. With the two characters starting the “end of a tragedy” and making callbacks to Act 1. It’s powerful.
You can FEEL the effort and care put into the song when you listen. I really appreciate it a lot and I don’t know how else to describe the emotions it provides me. I find myself singing it and humming it even if I’m not listening to it.
