Excellent info at 3:29 - For whatever reason, nobody ever talks about boot time. Not so long ago, every digital recorder on the market took 20 seconds or longer to be ready to record. Really sucks when something unexpected is happening and you're waiting for the thing to turn on.
Great overview as it pertains to capturing music. Question: Does the level that you set to 1024 matter when recording at all? I want to be sure I start with something that is okay to start with.

I'm a video (and audio for video) newbie. When you plugged the F3 into the computer with a USB C to USB C cable, in addition to pulling the recording off of the F3, you were also using it as an audio interface to input your live microphone into the computer? For example, could you plug a microphone into the F3 and plug the F3 into the computer, and use the microphone for a zoom call or use it to record voice overs?
Absolutely! The interface I used was quick time for Mac. I could have opened any program/interface and sleeved the F3 and use any mic I wanted. Very easy to use :)
@@JRESHOW Cool! I didn't realize that it had that capability. Would this method be better, worse, or the same as plugging the mic into the F3 and running a cable from the 3.5mm line output ( TRS, I presume?) or headphone output (TRRS?) of the F3 to the microphone input on the desktop PC (or soundcard?)
@@geezer2tech154 you would use the port I show at 11:23 with the included cable to connect to your computer via USB. It should automatically show up in your sound preferences to select as a mic input. It’s a really nice recorder. Def. my favorite. :)

Hmm… I would think so, but here’s a guy trying to hook it up to his iphone but had to do some work arounds… I don’t know if a iPad would be different and my daughter destroyed my iPad so I can’t test that… maybe have a look here - ua-cam.com/video/jVFTAuI3WiA/v-deo.html
Why do you have to keep making compound clips? Couldn’t you just normalize the audio and adjust the gain?
That would work I’m sure. I’ve always done it this way in fcpx.. I should probably figure that out if it’s an option in fcpx
