- Aside from more sophisticated systems like eSIF, which use feature recognition (faces, vehicles etc.) to send alerts or create targeted footage, all modern CCTV systems include motion detection as a standard feature.
This is an short tutorial on how to configure a motion detection grid using the sensitivity and threshold features on your DVR.
This is the best explanation of how motion gridding works 👍you helped me from receiving a bunch of alert notifications from my camera.
Six years later and it's useful info that I can use in fine tuning my Lores that came with very little setup instructions.
I have my cameras for 5+ yrs and wondered why I keep missing slow movement cars / ppl / my cat 😂.
Thank you 👍
Sensitivity determines how sensitive the camera is to motion. For example, if the sensitivity is high, small amounts of motion are more likely to trigger an event. It is recommended to select a Sensitivity between 30~70.
Threshold determines how much motion is required to trigger an event. If the amount of motion exceeds the threshold, an event occurs. It is recommended to select a Threshold between 10~50.
This was exactly what I needed! Your demonstration was clear and concise.
@2:30 concept of sensitivity and threshold explained.
larger threshold means more rapid motion is needed to trigger the event.
larger the sensitivity smaller the region camera is able to detect the motion.
Very useful. Thank you!
Excellent, very helpful for a newbie like me. Thanks
Great explanation thank you.
Great video mate
Thank you for the great easy video
Installed it myself without any issues. The wifi signal is great even ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxE_D_sddGAdiVUKp7PkkmyxO7bRtgqmk5 when the router is located far away. I really enjoy the night vision feature that allows me to see clearly any activity near our house (mostly cars and wild animals). The motion detection is helpful to me as well to monitor what happens on our front.
Thank you. Solved my problem.
Thank you for the video.
Thanks for this. Lorex was not clear on thresholds.
very helpful
I was getting false alarms now I know why. I need to reduce sensitivity and then threshold
What version of Amcrest NVR software are you showing in the video? Some of the options are different than what I have.
Thanks
Great thanks
Freaking thank you
Will any dvr box work with a 5GH Router thanks
Think I've got it. But why would you have a section highlighted that does nothing when the system records 24 hrs? Could it be the yellow zones records as an alert only but the red zones records and beeps at the same time , is this right.??
My cameras records bugs flying passed and changes in the sunlight, very annoying
Can you explain to me when I should use the color green, or blue?
What software or hardware is this? I have POE Hikvision cameras and a hikvision dvr but it has nothing like this on its software that came with it. I would love to review motion only on grid areas I choose. Would be even better if I could even do this review on an app too if possible rather that the monitor connected to the dvr.I need to sometimes review any motion that happened in a week, but I can sit through hours as all passing cars trigger the motion. Is this software for a dvr or do I need a special dvr, and can I keep my current hikvisions cams to get this?
When I set mine up, I was able to set some of the grid to green, but now when I go back or even default it I can’t get any green boxes to show which is no motion detection. Trying to figure out how to get green boxes. They don’t show at top of screen on right click….. frustrated !
How do you deal with bugs flying through when infrared is kicked on?
Did you get an answer?
Is this DVR compatible with the 4Mpx cameras ? Thanks
Is there a way to make the motion detection show up in the playback timeline? I could have swore I saw it where you can see the continuous video, but you could see like a yellow marker area showing motion triggers
if you're watching the playback on the dvr, once you've selected your date and channel, you will find the "All, Normal, Alarm, Motion" checkboxes under the timeline. select motion so you can see your motion activated recordings
please I want to have two areas but the detection program differs is it possible?
What about bugs and rain?
How do you get to the main menu
Is it possible to setup up this detection with email alert, that will only send emails during (for example) out of work hours??
Shame this question wasn't answered as it's a very good one. Any thoughts?
set period times
It would be great if you could speak up so you can be heard.

Alvaro Zamora cual es tu duda? Yo te puedo traducir si quieres
I don't think you're right about what the "threshold" setting does. You said it has to do with the rapidity of the response. I think that is wrong. I think it has to do with the amount of motion necessary. So sensitivity controls the size the object must be to trigger an event, and threshold controls how much it must move to trigger.
