    A perfect example of people showing off ,or displaying , good
    breathing techniques to support and control their air flow are
    those star opera singers ,
    e.g. singing the piece " Laudate Dominum " by Mozart , using breathing techniques handed over from generation to generation from- classical composers times- when there where no microphones or sound amplifiers .
    I particularly love to see female opera singer Renee Fleming ' live' in action in front of a big orchestra because she masters her breathing so good and I 'll be watching her every breath she takes and every move she makes .

    I love that " the King 's Speech " movie with actor Colin Firth .
    I 've the book here at home (also with Colin Firth on the cover) , written in beautiful English, all about speech therapy and eloquence for a British Monarch.

    Hi Katherine! 🙂
    Great lesson and excellent tips and pieces of advice! I liked the tongue twisters part and it made me think of sth I had written to Sabrah( or to Anna maybe). Here it is, I hope you like it.
    "I'm a thistle sifter. I have a sieve of sifted thistles and a sieve of unsifted thistles because I'm a thistle sifter". *
    Practising speech, my sis, I also select tongue-twisters with the infamous and satanic θ and S sounds: my nemesis! Staunchly I state my thistle-sifterness, spitting syllables, and spite the sun-soaked silence of my Tuscan street, my S under stress sliding between soft slushy shhh and sharp lisping whistle.
    I detest this. Sometimes I detest myself. (I'm striving but this is a kinda sneaky nightmare Sweetie! ;-)
    Yet still and months passing, I insist against all evidence that my sole business is the sifting of thistles; that to sift thistles is the purpose of my existence; that I shall persist in sifting thistles until these endless cursed thistles are sifted,
    ... because I am a thistle sifter's son, sis!
    *Tongue-twister attributed to Lionel Logue, The King’s Speech.
    ua-cam.com/video/7WJts0gKCRM/v-deo.html
    Great tongue twister with which, I suppose, the poor King Georges VI probably struggled a lot! (Note that being a 'thistle sifter's SON' probably makes things still worse, doesn't it?! ... 😂 ;-)
    Merci Kate! 🙏👏👍Love, bisous, bisous 😘🌹💞
    Have a lovely weekend!

    The slower you speak, the more fluent you are.
    The more I watch your videos, the more fluent I am.
    Being closer to our mindsets triggers you to make extremely valuable and attractive videos. That's why you are a pioneer in methodology. It's not easy at all to be a likeable teacher. I'd ask if we can help translate your videos into our own languages. You deserve to be known. So proud to be learning from a mother-tongue English teacher, despite studying linguistics for almost four years, but practicing is totally different from the syllabus.
    Moe.🎉

    ~~~~~~ The Lake / Le lac ~~~~~~
    Thus, always driven onward to shores like this
    In eternal nights one-way carried away
    Can we not ever on ocean of ages
    Drop anchor for one day?
    O Lake! Scarce has the year completed its turn
    Near the cherished waves she should've seen again
    Look! I've come alone to sit upon this stone
    You saw her sit on then.
    You were roaring such, below those plunging cliffs
    And just so, you broke onto their shredded brims
    Just so, the wind flung the foam of your wavings
    On her beloved feet
    Recall that evening we sailed out in silence?
    We would hear afar on the wave beneath skies
    But the rowers' claps striking in cadence
    Your harmo_nious tides.
    Then of a sudden, tones untold in the world
    Resounded all 'round the sounding spellbound sea.
    The flow was alert; and I could hear these words
    From the voice dear to me:
    "Pause in your run O Time! Suspend your flight!
    Propitious hours, stay!
    Let us enjoy the transient delight
    That fills our fairest day.
    Unhappy crowds cry out to you in prayers;
    Flow, Time, and set them free!
    Run through their days and through their ravening cares!
    But leave out the 'happy'!
    And In vain I pray hours to linger on
    but time slips into flight.
    I say to this night: "Be slower!"; But the dawn
    Will dissipate the night.
    Let's love, then! Love, and feel while feel we can
    The moment on its run.
    Man has no harbour; and there's no shore for Time
    It flows, and we go on."
    Can it be, jealous time our drunken moments,
    When love's pouring forth huge floods of merriment,
    Fly off far from us with an equal swiftness
    As days of wretchedness?
    What! Why can we not at the least fix a track?
    What! Forever gone? What! All wholly lost? ...
    The Time that gave them, this Time that rubs off
    Will not bring them us back
    Eternity, naught, past, dark gulfs, abysses
    Tell, what do you do with the days you devour
    Speak! Shall you not bring us back those sublime things
    Return raptured hours?
    O Lake, silent rocks, caves and darkling wood,
    You that time has spared or can restore to light,
    Let there live at least O Nature beautiful
    The mem'ry of that night :
    Let it be in your stills and be in your storms,
    Fair Lake, in the air of your laughing hillsides
    In the black pine trees, within savage rocks
    Hanging above your tides;
    Let it be in the breeze that stirs and passes,
    In the shore's lapping by your banks repeated
    In the star's silver countenance that bleaches
    Your surface with soft gleams.
    Let the moaning winds, let the sighing reeds,
    Let light balms you blow throughout cliff and grove,
    Let all that's beheld or is heard or is breathed
    Let All say: "they did love!"
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Tu mugissais ainsi sous ces roches profondes,
    Ainsi tu te brisais sur leurs flancs déchirés,
    Ainsi le vent jetait l'écume de tes ondes
    Sur ses pieds adorés.
    Un soir, t'en souvient-il ? nous voguions en silence ;
    On n'entendait au loin, sur l'onde et sous les cieux,
    Que le bruit des rameurs qui frappaient en cadence
    Tes flots harmonieux.
    Tout à coup des accents inconnus à la terre
    Du rivage charmé frappèrent les échos ;
    Le flot fut attentif, et la voix qui m'est chère
    Laissa tomber ces mots :
    " Ô temps ! suspends ton vol, et vous, heures propices !
    Suspendez votre cours :
    Laissez-nous savourer les rapides délices
    Des plus beaux de nos jours !
    " Assez de malheureux ici-bas vous implorent,
    Coulez, coulez pour eux ;
    Prenez avec leurs jours les soins qui les dévorent ;
    Oubliez les heureux.
    " Mais je demande en vain quelques moments encore,
    Le temps m'échappe et fuit ;
    Je dis à cette nuit : Sois plus lente ; et l'aurore
    Va dissiper la nuit.
    " Aimons donc, aimons donc ! de l'heure fugitive,
    Hâtons-nous, jouissons !
    L'homme n'a point de port, le temps n'a point de rive ;
    Il coule, et nous passons ! "
    Temps jaloux, se peut-il que ces moments d'ivresse,
    Où l'amour à longs flots nous verse le bonheur,
    S'envolent loin de nous de la même vitesse
    Que les jours de malheur ?
    Eh quoi ! n'en pourrons-nous fixer au moins la trace ?
    Quoi ! passés pour jamais ! quoi ! tout entiers perdus !
    Ce temps qui les donna, ce temps qui les efface,
    Ne nous les rendra plus !
    Éternité, néant, passé, sombres abîmes,
    Que faites-vous des jours que vous engloutissez ?
    Parlez : nous rendrez-vous ces extases sublimes
    Que vous nous ravissez ?
    Ô lac ! rochers muets ! grottes ! forêt obscure !
    Vous, que le temps épargne ou qu'il peut rajeunir,
    Gardez de cette nuit, gardez, belle nature,
    Au moins le souvenir !
    Qu'il soit dans ton repos, qu'il soit dans tes orages,
    Beau lac, et dans l'aspect de tes riants coteaux,
    Et dans ces noirs sapins, et dans ces rocs sauvages
    Qui pendent sur tes eaux.
    Qu'il soit dans le zéphyr qui frémit et qui passe,
    Dans les bruits de tes bords par tes bords répétés,
    Dans l'astre au front d'argent qui blanchit ta surface
    De ses molles clartés.
    Que le vent qui gémit, le roseau qui soupire,
    Que les parfums légers de ton air embaumé,
    Que tout ce qu'on entend, l'on voit ou l'on respire,
    Tout dise : Ils ont aimé !

    Are the shells Sally sells on the seashore sea schells?
    -Sure! The sea shells she sells are surely seashore sea shells.
    She purchased seashore shoes at the seashore shop before she sells sea shells in her seashore store.
