Yes, 8 YEARS, until I was 25 years old, I stopped them when I was 17, was on them heavy from 14 to 17 years old I wouldn't recommend SSRI's for most people, I needed them, I tried to off myself twice, and it helped me not follow through with that, and I'm so grateful for that, but it should be a last resort, if you're not seriously about to off yourself, stay the fuck away from SSRI's. Not just severe depression, but suicidal ideation. But then again, a side effect of SSRI's is suicidal ideation.. So it can push you over the edge for some people

I came off SSRi's last month after several years on a low dose. It was pretty awful. Like someone was electrocuting my brain every once in a while. The brain zaps are real! Never going back on that stuff again.
I was on 2 SSRIS for almost 10 years. I decided to just stop cold turkey because It literally wasn't doing anything. I didn't have any kind of withdrawal. My doctor warmed me about the brain zaps too and I would have to taper my doses down over time. I told him I haven't taken any in 3 weeks and he got kinda mad lol
