About 4 or 5 years ago i moved to a new house and began hanging out with a younger kid who was my new neighbor. We didn't share many interests except for some nu metal and neither of us really liked metal that much but i remember talking about some deathcore bands to him which kind of got us kicked off into better things, we both discovered black metal, death metal, and more together and now are in a 2 man black metal band 🤘 he might even see this comment lmao
I'm in Middle school at this time, and I'm currently getting my Metal friend into Thrash. He listens to Iron Maiden and the pioneers of Heavy Metal. Now, he's listening to Annihilator, Exumer, and Exodus.

today was my first day of high school, i'm 14, but i wore a emperor shirt lmao
Amon Amarth unites people, the day I meet my boyfriend He was wearing a Deceiver of the Gods t-shirt, I’m not a very social person, but seeing someone with that kind of t-shirt in my college was an extraordinary situation hahaha I needed to talk to him, it was the beginning of our story 🖤 Funny thing is, I was also wearing an Amon Amarth t-shirt that day 👌🏼
Rest In Peace to Keegan. 🤘🏾🤘🏾I also have a Metal brother whom i met Freshman Year and we still keep in close contact everyday. We’re both seniors now but he got relocated to another school in our district. I remember how much joy I felt when he introduced me to Marilyn Manson and A7X and how much joy I felt when I introduced him to Slayer. We still connect to this day
My little brother is my metal brother, he's still alive, he introduced me to some metal bands then many years later I started finding many other bands.
I have actually been friends with Eric, my metal brother, since preschool. His dad was a fan of all the classics, so he grew up listening to metal. I didn't start to get into metal until later when I was 12, although I was more into mainstream radio bands like A7X, Slipknot, and Disturbed at the time. Eric liked some of those bands as well, so we bonded over that. Later, in our sophomore year of high school, I had become a metalcore kid so I invited him to see Texas in July when they came to our city. It was his first time really listening to metalcore and he loved it. Ironically, in the next couple years he would become a bigger fan of the "core" subgenres and I would drift away from core to more death and black metal, but we still had plenty of common tastes and went to concerts together all the time. Even when we graduated high school and went to different colleges we would try to go to concerts in our hometown when our schedules worked. Now I'm going to be a groomsman at his wedding!
Car accidents are scary as shit. Sorry for you loss man. I'm glad that you had such a good friend though. I have lost people too and its always helped me to be grateful for having them.
Me and my best friend met when i sold him a tshirt a few years ago. He is the coolest guy i know and we went to so many concerts together so far that it just feels weird if i go to a concert without him. This summer we are going to see slayer for the first(and last time) together, because this is the band that made us friends in the first place.
This really hit close to home for me. I'm 37 now but when I was 19 I lost my bf and metal brother. I was actually with him when he died. It still sucks to this very day. Way to pay tribute brother. \m/ Good to know I'm not alone.
This was a lovely tribute. He would be happy that you are sharing metal with your fanbase. I experience metal brotherhood whenever I go to a concert or a show. Whenever I've fallen in a pit, people always pick me back up.
I'm very sorry for your loss. Wow, your story really hit home for me. I met my best friend Keith when we were 16, after I moved to a new town. He was intrigued that a girl knew and loved metal as much as himself. We became fast friends and also shared new music with each other. I got him into Morbid Angel. We did go to many concerts together, that I am grateful for. We wore each other's metal shirts, and so much more, too much to type right now. After 10 years of friendship, I lost him. He passed in his sleep. I was completely devastated. I couldn't function for the longest time. It'll be twenty years in May 2020, but the pain is still as fresh as if it happened yesterday.. You remind me soooo much of him! He used to write album reviews for an underground mag called "Promethian Crusade." If he were still here, no doubt, he'd have a UA-cam channel reviewing albums and all things metal. They say time heals all wounds, this wound will never heal. Like you, I had to learn how to go on without him; pushing back the anger, and live. It's especially difficult on his birthday... Thank you for sharing your story. It brought back so many memories for me. Much love, and Stay Brutal!!
I know that this is a few months late but I just watched this now and hearing this was absolutely heartbreaking. I'm sorry for your loss, it is truly terrible losing someone who influenced you and had an effect on your life
My dad died a few years ago and he always had different bands playing in his car he introduced me to a lot of bands that I listen to now he was my best friend. RUST IN PEACE DAD 🤘🤘🤘
Thank you so much for sharing, it's sounds like he was indeed a badass dude and great friend to have in your life. In honor of his memory, listening to some Celtic Frost after your video. \m/
Sorry for your loss. One thing I have learned in my half-century of life, is that the older you get, the more dead people you know. Another is that, wherever you go, if you can find metalheads, you find friends! Stay METAL, Brother!
I'm so sorry that happened to you. My brother isn't really into metal, but after I lost contact with him I found a CD mix he had made that led me to some cool bands. I always thought it was awesome to have that connection. Thanks for sharing your story!
It's almost surreal to look back over the last few decades and think about all of the fellow metalhead friends I've lost to circumstance or poor decision making. One of the ways I've found to deal with that is through the very music we all love, whether listening to it or being in bands. Sometimes, it's catharsis; other times, it's bittersweet. My best to you.
i honestly got into metal the same way as you i met a a guy in highschool and i didn't know any metal bands really besides Metallica and i didn't listen to them and he got me into slipknot and korn he was a 10th grader and i was in 9th and he's one of my bestfriends and if it wasn't for him i probably wouldn't know what metal is
What a touching story man. it certainly wasn't a 'bummer' or 'bringdown', but something clearly really important for you to talk about and special for us to hear! It only reminds me of all those amazing memories I have with my metal friends, and how lucky I am to still have them alive. RIP to your Metal Brother. He sounds like he was a truly incredible person, who would have gone on to inspire others (like he did you) whilst spreading love and passion with his music!
I think you’re definitely right about the recommendations. I was honestly thinking the same thing when you were describing how he would show you new bands all the time. I’m so sorry for your loss. Sounds like he was a great dude and I loved your story honoring his memory.
...... I was actually moved ... I'm glad you have such a friend too even though he's "gone" so you keep him alive ergo he's here. I've even tried remembering his metal brother. I thought it's nice of you and share, thanks for that Chaos one can not control but you can control how one looks at it and clearly it hurts in the heart but you do him a great honor by talking about it. Huge respect for your feelings🍀
Bro, your friend sounds like one of my old friends. He used to do the same thing with me, regarding sharing music with me. He was also a thoughtful and generous person. I would be the first person he would contact when he bought a new cd, or discovered a new band that we hadn't heard of. Then we'd listen to the music together, breaking down the album, or just listen in awe, at the music we were hearing. We used to copy CDs for each other and actively sought out different bands. My friend, was the kind of guy, who would make make mix CDs and hand them out to random people at metal clubs. That's how he rolled. Alot of people liked him for that, and the passion my buddy had for music, was contagious. Sadly, he passed away a few years ago and I will never forget one of the best friends I have ever known. Rest in peace, Jimmy.
hey thanks for sharing this story. Even though I knew how it ends hearing how you guys met as kids and bonded together made me smile. These memories are really beautiful. Back in high school I had a friend - the most badass punk chick ever - that I'd discuss music and go to concerts with. Unfortunately she passed away during our last year. Listening to your story brought some bittersweet memories and thank you for that. Also Twilight of the Thunder God is one of my favorite albums ever. Quite a taste he had! \m/
i have friend in my class that i introduce to more trv metal. before he know me he only listen to slipkot. i intoduce him to death and black metal especially polish(we are polish) and norwegian black metal. without him i will be alone, in my entire school the is only 2 of us metalheads
Hearing this I kinda have a similar. My best friend introduced me to metal and to this day I still listen to metal, and it will never change. Keep throwing the horns and stay metal🤘
Raise your horns. Raise them up to the sky my brothers and sisters. Let us drink in commemoration of a fallen brother. One who did not return. The endless ocean of time has claimed his soul, and may he now rest in his home shore. He has gone home. With that let us drink. Always remember, never forget, to forget is to truely let him die.
My Metal brother is My friend Joe. We met in high school back in '88, we still go to shows and hangout but not as much as before. I introduced him to Iron Maiden and the NWOBHM as well as Japanese, Spanish, French and Portuguese Metal bands, while he got me into Metallica, Megadeth and other thrash bands, as well as obscure Glam and Power Metal bands.
I didn't have a "Metal brother" when I lived in a small town outside of Buffalo NY (Kids who listened to country music and me who was listening to Death and black metal). When I got to high school, I met my friend Mark and we bonded over our love of Emperor, we still talk on facebook
About 10 years ago I tried out for a band and me and the singer became real close. He was always complimenting me on my bass playing as was a big help In joining my current band. He later became a vocalist of a Black Sabbath tribute band and the last time I saw him the last song he sang was war pigs. Which is why that song is my favorite sabbath song. Sadly he passed away 2 years ago but I’m so glad I had him as a friend and a bother in metal.
This video righteously has 0 dislikes. First time I’ve ever seen that, and in this situation, I’m glad I did. Sorry for your loss man, but at least he may see the great Lemmy. 🤘
dude, dont ever feel bad for letting loose like that. if anyone, you should know that all of us and prolly any one of us would gladly listen if or when you needed to talk. you cant keep that locked man. were here. i am truly sorry for your loss. thats fucking terrible, and your right, as shitty as it may be, it always seems like its the good ones that are snatched away untimely. its fucked, it sucks, but we have to go on and make your self better for them. if nothing else do it vicariously, since they cant, you must. but then again i might have a warped way of looking at thngs. stay strong brother.
Real fucking sorry to hear that, man. I’m from Winnipeg Manitoba and my stepfather was killed in a motorcycle accident thanks to our wonderful climate, and after all these years that’s still carried with me. If you still need to rant even after all this time man, message me, I know that never truly goes away
I had no plans on commenting on a video today but felt compelled to comment on this one. My dog passed away yesterday no he wasn't a "metal brother" but obviously a terrible loss to endure. I'm sorry you lost such a good friend I've had two "metal buddies" in my lifetime. One in high school and we kind of just fell out of touch after high school we had a lot of good times together but it was dumb teenager shit rather than related specifically to metal, I was definitely the more avid fan of the two of us. The other metal friend I've had I still talk to regularly he's had several bands and we go to concerts together semi regularly even now and we've recommended countless bands to each other. We also of course love complaining about Metallica's shitty period of music from the 90's the to the mid 2000s as they were our first metal fixations.
When I was a kid back in the mid 90's I really wanted to start listening to heavy metal music, eventually I became really good friends with a dude name Mike, he lived a couple of houses down from me in one of the cul-de-sacs that I grew up on. Though he was a little older than me by a year or two he and his older brother were big metalheads (also big sport fans & gamers) we hung out all the time, he and his bro expanded my view on heavy metal by introducing me to other bands at the time (other than the few I already knew: Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Rammstein, Monster Magnet, Ozzy Ozbourne & Disturbed). I lost contact with him when he moved far away which truly sucks, though not as bad as your loss bud, sorry to hear about what happened to your best bud in that car accident, my sympathy goes to you sir.
One of my close friends me and her are best metal buddies. Me and her have seen Metallica, Corrosion of Conformity, Black Label Society, Havok, Anthrax, and Killswitch engage, and gwar. It was amazing. She graduated last year, im a junior in high school but me and her definitely stay in touch still. Sucks not having her in school though, im a lone metalhead now😂😂😂
My best friend and i discovered metal togheter and we have been friends since we were 6 years old. It started when we both heard AC/DC togheter, we were around 13-14. We still listen to metal and go to concerts
I can't imagine life without my best friend, she's the only reason that I haven't taken my own life away. Her and I don't always see eye-to-eye but I love her like a sister and she means the world to me and also introduced me to quite a few rock/metal bands like FFDP, Children of Bodom, Cradle of Filth and maybe some others that I don't exactly remember. If my sister somehow finds this video and looks through these comments then remember that I love you and that the dark days will be over soon so keep your head held high
This video is a very awesome tribute to your friend Keegan, he'd be pretty proud!!! I've met quite a few metalheads in real life and on the internet, too many to list to be honest, we ended up showing each other bands, comparing and contrasting them, discussing how metal had and continues to impact our lives. My friends Brendan, Adam, Gary, Farren, Martine, Meagan, Brendan, Kathy, Aaron, George, Dave, Brian, Parker, etc... are just a few handfuls I met in high school and college, the ones that were metalheads in middle school never went so diehard about it openly at school or what have you. Only 2 of my metalhead friends so far have died (Simon and Dakota RIP to them both, Simon from an illness and Dakota from a motorcycle accident related hemorrhage not too far from where I live). Even though I would talk to people from different groups, I eventually began to feel a real sense of belonging in the rock and metal fan community! Still hold on to those and have continued to hopefully meet more awesome metalheads in the future.
Awesome tribute man. It was touching to hear what you two shared. I’ll rise the horns, \m/, for the falleb brother. Valhalla shall greet him by Odin himself \m/
Im really sorry for your loss. This video shows the incredible power of metal and how it bring people together. I personally have someone like this. He is my buddy who is a little older then me and he told me about mayhem and immortal. Now i love them.
What a great story. I felt the passion of the friendship brotherhood you had. I wish nothing but the best for you and the peace for your friend may he rest in eternal peace.
I co-own a dog walking business with my best friend Dave (no not my boyfriend). We are in the car a lot and we use that opportunity to listen to metal. If one of us discovers a band I put it on the car playlist on my phone and we listen to it in the car. We have also been to a few concerts together. The last one was Behemoth.
Sorry for your lost. I also met my metal bro when I was in high school. But we met on the internet, because we lived in the different towns, pretty far from each other. We met on the site for DnD players. :-D
I have my friend who introduced me to metal It's funny that our name is the same (Ondra), our second name starts with the same letter (V), we both were born in May an we both have girlfriend named Clare But it's cool guy and i'm really glad i met him And sorry for your loss man, I love your content
Thanks for sharing this. It was beautiful. I have a metal friend who takes me to concerts every now and then. I went to my first concert back in my freshman year of college with him.
I'm alone for metal😢. But I do have 1 really good friend. I only see him once a year. but we can pick up a conversation just as if we see each other every day.
One of my best friends have bonded over metal. When I was very young i remember being faschinated by Lordi and maiden especially Eddie akd that really stuck with me. When I was about 4 years old I went to swimming class here in Sweden and i met this guy who I became friends with our mother got along really well on top of that. We lost contact but when i when i started second grade i transfered school and ended upp in the same class as my swimming buddy and we were in the same class until we started the gymnasium (we are still close and talk almost every day) when we turned about 15 we started hanging out alot. We started hitting the gym, drinking, snus (swedish oral tobacco) but we also got into metal. We had always liked metal but this was when I really got hooked. It started out with judas priest, venom, black sabbath and then later on we got more interested in Black metal especially Mayhem, Burzum, and first wave black metal. Metal has really had an impact on our friendship the past couple of years, its our special thing that we share together, always giving eachother recomendations (he likes more new stuff than i do and I tell him about all these older band and there anecdotes. We also go to shows together. To sum it up we have a very special friendship and it is something that i am really thankful for. Great video man keep up the good work!
My metal brother is my father in law Carl, we drink the same beer, listen to the same music and go to concerts together. The last concert we went we went to was the Slayer retrement tour which was amazing.
I really wish I had a friend to talk metal with. Being a black dude in the hood into metal since I was 10(now 24) its a very rare thing to come across. Closet I get is internet talk on forums and Instagram.
I'm really sorry to hear this man... its really really awful. My mums best friend hung herself at the age of 57, a new grandmother etc who my mother knew since they were 18. Same with my dad... lost his best friend back in 2004 when he got reversed over by a bin lorry he was working with and he misses him everyday still today. My metal mate I met when he was 11 and I was 13 lol we hated each other to start with and neither of us were into metal at all, we were into dubstep to begin with and I showed him metal one day and form there we became best friends. My other metal friend I met on the train on the way to college (UK version of high school I guess) and we by then were both into black metal and so we instantly got talking. Couldn't imagine what it would be like if I lost either of them.
This morning I was watching your video and having a cup of coffee, it caught my attention from the beginning, personally I feel so as identified from your story, how you and your friend started on this trip and experience of metal, same as me!! it was a mix of sadness with joy cuz I had the same experience long time ago with a very close metal brother... then...i saw your recommendation and the surprise was greater, I spit my coffe jeje...how important it is to be present at that moment of your tribute to your best friend, to that special person ...that's the magic of metal, its the true thing, nothing is fake .. I feel your loss men.. Keep the metal flow... !
So first things, first - I am so sorry to hear about your loss, even if it was a long time ago. I can't imagine what that must have been like. That said, the closest thing to a metal brother that I ever had doesn't really speak to me any more. We grew apart after college and now he wants nothing to do with me. We wrote a couple songs together. It was cool, but I guess that's how the cookie crumbles some times.

Dont forget, that we are all your metal brothers! /m/.
I also found a metal brother in high school
If anyone can promise I will find a metal brother when going into secondary/high school like Stay Metal🤘🏻🤘🏻
Good luck kiddo!
This video righteously has 0 dislikes. First time I’ve ever seen that, and in this situation, I’m glad I did. Sorry for your loss man, but at least he may see the great Lemmy. 🤘
Raise your horns for the brave fallen friend.
dude, dont ever feel bad for letting loose like that. if anyone, you should know that all of us and prolly any one of us would gladly listen if or when you needed to talk. you cant keep that locked man. were here. i am truly sorry for your loss. thats fucking terrible, and your right, as shitty as it may be, it always seems like its the good ones that are snatched away untimely. its fucked, it sucks, but we have to go on and make your self better for them. if nothing else do it vicariously, since they cant, you must. but then again i might have a warped way of looking at thngs. stay strong brother.
Sorry for your loss, but this is a great tribute to a fallen brother.
Sorry for your loss , nice tribute to your fallen brother
In high school freshmen year my best friend showed me slipknot the devil in I And that got me into metal
Yea no man you are awesome ive never had someone like that but its awesome that there are people out there it really all makes sense to me
I'm sorry for your loss man
R.I.P to your friend, sorry that you lost an influence of your life.
So sorry this happened! May he rest in peace.
666 views!!! Sorry to hear about your friend. My friend had cancer last year and every day I was worried I’d get the message that he didn’t make it
Sorry for ur loss mate
I’m so sorry about this. At least you knew him at all
Real fucking sorry to hear that, man.
Sorry for your loss nice tribute to your friend.
Man, i'm so fucking sorry for your friend, hi is now in Valhalla, we support you, thank you for the band recomandation!
He*
This video is a very awesome tribute to your friend Keegan, he'd be pretty proud!!!
So very sorry for your loss.
All I have to say is \m/ sorry brother, we'll all join him in the pit with wherever his soul is going
RIP to your friend, he sounds like he was real good dude though, hope everything's alright now.
I have my friend who introduced me to metal
It's funny that our name is the same (Ondra), our second name starts with the same letter (V), we both were born in May an we both have girlfriend named Clare
But it's cool guy and i'm really glad i met him
And sorry for your loss man, I love your content
Sorry to hear that you lost such a cool friend! I have yet to find a friend that cool so I can imagine what a shock and loss it was!
He will rest with all the ledges just as he was
A Huge Skål for all our Brothers and Sisters in Metal both Alice and sorely passed. 🇸🇪🇷🇴🍺😈🤘
Couldn't imagine what it would be like if I lost either of them.
man, that sucks. sorry for your los, brother
May he live on through metal😔🤘🤘🤘🤘
Losing some close is never easy horns up for our fallen brother🤘
I last many friends I like your videos but it takes a good heart to do this one I'm sorry for your loss but let your kindness be a beacon of hope.💯🎸
