Hi Rick...VCK is pretty much out of print at this point. You might find it in some store someplace, but not likely. We're doing a reprint in 2021 in conjunction with a new expansion. We'll probably be on Kickstarter in late January.
I think magic is too powerful making it so people horde magic over other resources. I’ve house ruled to use magic you must have equal amount of the resource it’s replacing. So if something cost 4 gold and you want to use magic you must spend at least one gold to one magic. Otherwise all anyone ever needs is one or two of any resource and everyone hangs onto magic.
Hi Victor. We are happy when players make house rules. In our view, it's a show of how much they love the game. A player who concentrates on magic to the near-exclusion of other resources may find they're not using the full potential of their tableau, but I respect their use of strategies that work for them. :-) ...David
