    1. Don't be weak willed. Success isn't attained by the timid. There have been so many before you that have gone through so much worse and made it out through their tenacity.
    2. Put life in perspective. Don't waste mental energy on things that don't really matter. Ask yourself "will this decision matter in a days time will it matter in a week? How about a year?"

A couple months ago I was in a very bad accident at work. 1800 pounds of roll up door industrial plant landed on me while I was cutting a frame. I was 30 feet up in a scissor lift it crushed me and then I fell over 30 feet. After many operations and a whole lot of titanium in my body I am finally home. I'm still in a wheelchair and for barely use my hands. Please excuse any errors in this as I can only use voice to text. I'm stronger than hell and a very active person. I'm healing faster than anybody said was possible. I can't wait to get out of this wheelchair and do all the crazy shit I used to do. But I do want to say this, all I can do all day everyday is pretty much watch youtube videos and things like that. I watched almost every video you have of you sitting there and talking about book of a day or anything. I love the things you say and your motivation. You're motivating the hell out of me and making me want to better my life. The career I had when this happened definitely paid well. But it's made me think, after this accident I don't want to be doing what I used to do. I'm going to get better and be strong as hell. But I'm going to be doing better in my life after I heal because I'm not sitting here watching stupid videos on UA-cam, I'm watching your videos and many others like it getting inspiration and getting knowledge. You seem like a pretty cool ass dude and I love your attitude.

Tai I appreciate people like you that give out life lessons. I have heard that, from a teacher that I know of, in order to be happy in life , you need to do these three things: be nice to others, think present or pleasant ,and at the end of your day, summarize only the good events that occurred in the day. Problem is for me is that I go in a stormy loophole. I never could do something as a routine (well probably a few but I'm talking about the significant ones.) When I need to do an assignment I wait for the last day to start on it . also I over think a lot.my thoughts are seldom black and white. I always like new ideas. But when it comes to bringing it to reality I'm either lazy or preparing for a knew routine or just being imature (which is kind of rare.) My laziness and thinking connect together in a way that makes me fail. Basically I'm asking how to not over think. Thanks again for what you do.

Great words of advice, ever since I started watching your videos and taking part in the 67 steps program I've seen a huge shift in the way I think now.
Just last week I lost my cell phone at work. When I noticed it was gone I freaked out and drove back only to find it wasn't where I left it. And yes, at first it hurt like hell losing it since the memories of my last best friend were on it, but I soon found myself saying, "bad things just happen in life, move on." And so I did, I took the necessary steps and after the 2nd day I hardly cared anymore cause you taught me that there will be bad days, almost guaranteed, and the more we can embrace that fact the less surprised we will be when it happens.

I needed this today. I have a new opportunity and I nearly had a mental breakdown shortly before it was done. it just hit my mind.
it wasn't that it was wrong, but it was moreso that it's so alien to me that I couldn't believe what was happening. thanks Tai.

Good advice, I think this is something that I've seen improved with age too, things that might have caused stress or anxiety when you're younger are easier to deal with, with some experience/perspective to the point that you wonder why you stressed so much in the first place. We have to realize that failure really isnt the worst thing that can happen to you by a long shot.

  • @brendatule280
    @brendatule280 5 років тому

This reminds me of Sin and the fall of humanity. We are all weak to our own carnal desires. We fail to realize how often we fall into the temptation of fear, lust, and addictions. This prevents us from getting ahead and striving for what is truly good and truly fulfilling. Great concept to talk about! “Keep life in perspective” we all need to do a little bit more about that!

I used to think I was fairly strong minded until having a bad experience with drugs that led to being diagnosed with anxiety. Now sometimes I feel like I hardly can control my minds dumb little fearful thoughts. It just sucks feeling like I can't strengthen my mind because of this illness or whatever.

Bottom line, you r not the only one going thru this. Check out clarie weekes book hope and help for your nerves. And STAY away from drugs, they can cause way more problems down the line than just anxiety.

+King West Try Transcendental Meditation and live mindfull. You are not your feelings and neither your thoughts. If you objectively observe yourself you are free of any anxiety. Im dealing with the same kind of issues, but this helped me alot. Watch Joe Dispenzas Interviews and read his book: Breaking the habit of being yourself, he scientifically explains how to change your life in the best possible way. Dont let your life and your dreams taken from anxiety.

I agree with Tai, whenever those "what if" fearful people come in our way do your best to give them a lecture. If lecture doesn't work do it with action. People think you are insulting them and go into wimpy mode.

Im Brazilian, 25 years old and for the past 3 years my daily work as an employee is in a office doing something that I never thought before, international purchases.
I spent almost 5 years in London and I managed to learn a little of english, because i know Im not fluently, basically I always had to work but my previous jobs was always manual jobs. I realized how important technology is and shapes our life, I managed to improve my work so I have some 'free time' in front of a computer that I can spend reading, although I always had a computer never used like this before, technology in every single detail really makes me wonder in how it is changing everything, I was never good at school and it was never my routine reading a book not even today but I must change, I love the wonders about neuroscience, technology, mind, human behavior, what books should I start to read? I see that I will have double challenge ahead because I don't know several words in english but I want to ready in both languages in order to improve my english side too.
    Thank you!

I 've read the summary of the "Defiant" in Amazon and seems good, kind of a story telling book i guess. Although here in Greece and in Europe we disagree about why America did that war against the Vietnamezes, the story of these men can inspire.

    Okay Tai honest question:
Our brains will "rise to the occasion" and think "in relation" to our position in life. This meaning that a poor person getting a $1 raise will be as happy about as a rich person gaining $10,000,000/year. (Just an example; I've not much knowledge on numbers.)
The question is that if this is true, why should one become rich; they will not become any more happy.
