    This attitude should be taught in school. It's skill and advanced mindset that improves the world.

      That's one of the big things about Tai, helping people get educated about what's not taught in school. Yes, should be taught in school, though isn't, at least not yet.

    You explained it best when you said to swap the word "mentor" with "coach". What I took away is: No one cares if you're reinventing the wheel everyday. You're not in competition, there are no style points for HOW you reach prosperity. Why do it the hardest way possible? Stand on the shoulders of giants. Thank you Tai.

    As someone who is an avid reader and was once one of those "lone wolves," thinking that I could do EVERYTHING by myself, I can say that a mentor is a necessity. Someone who has been there and done it can save you a lot of heartache and frustration as well as being a well of knowledge. Books do certainly help, but it helps to have real life person to bounce ideas off off and help you navigate your way through. I was wise enough to put my pride aside and ask for mentorship when needed. Better late than never.

    Mentors will help you learn from what they have accomplished and learned over a long period of time and let you skip most mistakes. I agree there is no reason to make twice as many mistakes when you can skip most of them from learning from other peoples failures. A gps is the best way to put it. Follow the right road and you'll end up at the right destination. You might hit some mistakes/falures here and there, no matter what you'll see where you're mentor/coach ended up. You'll follow there foot-prints and end up on the podium with them eventually🔐🏆 FACTS! Go straight to the top📚 Very inspirational Tai and you're one of those people who other people analyze what you have accomplished and do everyday and started listening to you as well as learning📚 I'm sure most people have found instant results. As I have. Listen and you will learn. 100 percent true.

    I coach tennis at a famous tennis academy in Florida. I'm 23 years old and might not be wise enough yet, but I love encouraging and leading the kids I train. I work with all levels, including high performance players. Those
    are the kids that need to be pushed more than the other ones because they have a dream. Many times they let themselves down. That's when I love my job the most; that's when I take a pen in my hand and write a note of encouragement to help those kids get back on track and battle for what they are dreaming of. And gosh, what an effect it has!
    Needless to say you're an amazing source of inspiration. I always looked for ways to improve myself through books and mentors and I highly believe in the idea that you emphasize in this video. Mentors and books will get you far. Love it, Tai, keep on spreading your wisdom!

    Guys its true a mentor would help you a ton, but there is no need to actually find them in real life, since they'll be busy 90% of the time. It would be better and more time sparring to find mentors on UA-cam. Tai, Gary, The Entrepreneur and etc. They all make great content on how to be successful in life, regardless if its a business or not. So in a way, they are my mentors that I haven't even met in real life

      i agree that they are worth watching. if you do as they suggest and come up with different results then learn from that and do the opposite of what they say next time lol. I like Tail Lopez because I dont feel scammed or lied to when i watch him. he's pretty up front about the fact that you cant get what you are truly asking for for free, however even though hes not giving you "sacred secrets" all of what he says ties into those sacred secrets much of it probably gets overlooked but its actually deep if you saw it from his pov. case and point i spent 7 years for this "ability to succeed because of knowledge" and im not going to give it away for free either. If you pay for something it's better than if its given to you because you earned it and the thing your paying for in this case is priceless and is something none of us deserve trust me... so if you cant find it on your own because of google and nobody who has it wants to give it away freely your stuck PAYING a mentor for it. so dont watch TOO much UA-cam or else you will learn too much of the wrong thing.. BUT watch all the tai lopez you want because Ive never caught Tai Lopez saying things to you that are blatantly untrue in efforts to make you less successful. That is happening all around you but NOT on Tai's channel just sayin. However since the internet has been taken by trolls, shills, scammers, growth hackers, all under the influence of Google, it's difficult to trust any influencer at all with your money because what if they give you the results you want but not how they did it? Thats a band-aid on leak that needs a permanent fix. I'm willing to bet that Tai actually teaches the real stuff but I'm also willing to bet he makes you fork over a lot for it over the course of a long period of time because its like you gotta pay your dues but thats just an assumption and how i personally feel and I have no clue what he teaches or doesn't teach. For all I know it could be the cats pajamas I just doubt I personally would gain from it until the last couple steps that cost the most money lol. Would love to find out if thats true free of charge though.

    TAI LOPEZ my opinion on this video is you really show how much it takes to get to the top for success is not just developed on solo effort you have to get it from somewhere there's always a way you get that motivation for your success & reading is one big way plus having a mentor it can also even be the author of a book will be someone mentor just seeing a quote can motivate someone to change the perspective on there day It's like a fortune cookie just one thing they read a day can turn around someone outcome. Thank you Tai Lopez you motivate me so much! Ps Love Your Snapchat LoL🙌🏻 WORK SMATER NOT HARDER 👨🏻‍💻

  • @tkdkeyess
    @tkdkeyess 7 років тому +2

    my grandfather used to say the same, "work smarter, not harder." That being said you can't be afraid of hard work, or have expectations that your mentors will do it for you. The knowledge cotained in books and the experience of your mentors could greatly cut down the time it takes you to do what you are looking for. I love history for this reason, learning from the mistakes of others :) Thanks for the great information Tai!

    Both Tai and Gary Vee are 100% right. They don't disagree, they just address 2 different problems.
    1. Its absolutely disgusting how many people call themselves "Entrepreneurs" and all they do is read books and go to networking events. They just wanna "play business" to feel good about themselves and look cool on social media. But they are too scared to actually build a business. Gary Vee is addressing those people
    2. WAAAY too many people approach starting a business as if it is a fucking lottery, they think "i have a million dollar idea, and i will just work hard on it and hope that it works"
    Then of course 90% of them fail cause they don't have the Knowhow and the strategy to build a business. They don't have ANY work experience or book-knowledge about the industry they try to conquer yet they are so fucking ignorant and arrogant that they think they can succeed just by having a "good idea" and some luck. Tai is addressing these people
    Some people need to listen to Gary, some to tai and many actually commit both errors at the same time(they procrastinate by consuming huge amounts of info, yet that info has nothing to do with the business they are trying to start)

    • @antonio.7557
      @antonio.7557 7 років тому +1

      Another thing one should add is this:
      Gary vee is an industry that changes so fast there are no books available,
      he can't learn that way.
      However, he is constantly hanging out with top CEOs, either his clients or people like mark zuckerberg he works with as an investor.
      If you tell me that gary does not learn useful information from these people you are out of your fucking mind.

    Tia your dead on point about this! Mentors/Coaches are vital to your success! At 17 years old I started asking myself the question "What do these successful people know that I don't know?" So I started studying successful people from all industries, through youtube, social media, & books! Sure enough at 19 years old I was offered the opportunity to be mentored in the financial services industry by some very successful who are now my personal mentors/coaches. I am now a 20yr old entrepreneur being mentored & taught how to be in business for myself through the financial services industry. I am coached & guided every single day of my life & can honestly say I would not still be in business or have grown so much as I have with out the opportunity to be be mentored & coached by people who have already done what I intend to do, which all started with asking myself that one simple question! I now have a vision to be one of the greatest entrepreneurs to walk the face of the earth. I have a long way to go, but because I remain a student/sponge & consistently seek guidance I am sure to succeed. Thanks for the video Tia, I don't think I can get much more honest/sincere than this.. P.S. An Ipad Air would definitely help me stay organized in my business & on my journey. Thanks for your content you bring much value to the world, can't wait to meet you some day! 😌👍

    • @therealrodney8561
      @therealrodney8561 6 років тому +20

      1. Start off by clarifying what you want from a mentor exactly, because it coincides with what you want to achieve. 2. Start with someone in your immediate network who have done what you want to do. 3. Offer something for free to them first i.e a way to save them time, lunch or yes even money. 4. If those options are absolutely are not available books and on-line mentoring is an option once you have done your homework on there success rate. 5. No kidding hang out at a Starbucks in an affluent area you would be amazed at the business owners I have met and what someone will share over a cup of coffee that you offer to buy! now Go To Your Destiny Young Jedi!

    Mentors/Coaches are always needed. This year I want to do something different in my life. I want a better life and I know I need to do many things to get their. Your snap chat shows the importance of having a mentor in your life. You have opened my mind by letting it know you don't become smarter or make better moves on your own. Reading a book will help us advance in life and I will take you up on the free reading list you offered on this video. I want to advance my knowledge more and become who I want to be and be were I want to be. I agree being humble on your advances is the way to go and believing you don't need anyone only gets you to more and more headaches. When you can learn from other people and not make the mistake you we're going to make without their advice.

    This video really is giving me drive and ambition. I wish I could find a mentor like yourself, I work like Leon's mom and have a wife 2 kids and my father in law to take care of. My wife is sick with lupus and can't work, her father is just older and can't do anything. I really am going to do all I can to stop just cutting through the jungle and get someone to mentor me and show me the directional path to financial freedom. I have been following you for awhile but just now starting to listen, I have a new drive to stop just "working harder" and be smarter. I really need help I have begun reading books and really have learned lot of things in about 12 days. I am looking for my leverage to have the ability to take my family on vacation, I have worked since 12 yrs old and never been on a real vacation, lived in California my whole life and never been to Disney Land, a lot of people laugh when I say that but it is try. I can't stop working and I want to change that. Thanks again for your guidance and advise. Peace and blessings!!

    YES agree :-)
    One day I met a 96 year old in the local library asking me about smartphones - he had that natural curiosity that we unlearn in school.
    Searching for mentors doesn't have to be like "do you wanna be my mentor?" just simply "can you answer my questions?"
    unfortunately, in school we experience daily that learning is not fun but a plague. And we become fearful of ASKING because everyone might laugh at our question...
    Somehow sad that intelligence beats manual work but it's real since stone-age.
    I love your work and that you care more than most about those in need.

    I agree with Tai and I think you do need mentors because first of all , like you said , they cut the learning curb . Second of all , they have more expe- rience than you so they 've definitely made more mistakes than you and know what 's the right thing or the right way to do something and finally I think they are pretty necessary because they not only have different ways to get things done but they 'll suggest you the most fastest and efficient way to do things plus they 'll guide you down the road of good life. I'll give my example only ...I had a mentor for Accountancy is 12th trade .....I sure didn't score more than nerds but I had more knowledge and I knew how to solve the problem quickly,easily and efficiently. People who think you don't need a mentor because either they're lucky or they are too proud to admit it. Whether you agree or not it up to you but if you wanna be successful in life you need mentors to guide you, it's as simple as that.

    Morning! Although I am not an entrepreneur or a business woman in anyway,I truly believe in dedication and hard work for a productive life. I am currently going to school to become a forensic investigator and I'm constantly reading, mostly crime books but I also read self-made books that teach you to go after your dreams to make those hard decisions and to make yourself feel lost in order to become accomplished and successful. I find you truly inspiring not just because of all the nice things you have in your life but because of your words of wisdom and the inspiration that you give me personally. I find it refreshing when you can obviously tell that individuals are hard workers and they don't ask for handouts and they don't need special priorities to get what they want. I am 22 years old and I've just finished paying off my first car, and financing a new condo, and finally feel like I have my school bills in order (not paid off quite yet lol) my mentors are my father and my sister because they tell me almost daily but unless I'm doing what I love I'm wasting my time. I feel so incredibly close to my family and I believe that's because they want me to succeed and they inspire me to follow my heart ❤️ even if I don't win I just wanted to say thank you so much for always speaking about and motivating individuals to get up and go. I have a ways to go before I get to where I want to be in my life but I can honestly say I am happy and I know I am on the right path from the support of my mentors and people like you who inspire us every day. @margauxblaaaaair

    Hi Tai!
    Thanks for the video! Every single bit of what you said is absolutely true! I've a mentor in the past and he said exactly the same thing. He expected me to deliver results by working SMART and not hard. Since then, it's a turning point of my career. And seeing this video, it reminds me to work even smarter! For myself... And the community around me! Wish one day I'd have the chance to meet you and how I can work smarter and make a difference to the world in a big and sustainable way!
    Thanks again!

    So wise! I always say in order to learn something new we have to say to ourselves we know nothing. That way we put our own ego aside and learn something and see it in a way you never did. You see it in the eyes of another and have a different perspective and see something you never did in a way you never thought.
