What a heart-touching scene! Imagine how better this scene could be if Young Ragnar was the one opening Valhalla's doors and smiled at Uhtred while saying "Welcome my brother" 😥
@@itsthatgirl98_ Ragnar went to Niflheim when he was killed by Aethelwold but when Uhtred killed Aethelwold using Thyra's blood , Ragnar passed to Valhalla. It's on last episode of Season 3.
He stands between the two worlds, celebrated in both of them, living a glorious life and destined for a glorious afterlife. Thank you for uploading, much appreciated.
This was such an Incredible show, the characters, storyline, soundtrack etc, I will miss it dearly, and will re-watch it for many years to come. This final scene did bring me to tears. It would have been wonderful to see Ragnar there too celebrating in Valhalla, the actor was probably unavailable. Thank you for you for uploading this Beautiful soundtrack, I hope they come to Spotify.
The laughter and joy in the afterlife from the halls is haunting and beautiful. There is a parallel continuum after this life, I’ve seen this on high doses of psilocybin mushroom. (Mushroom ale 🍄😉)The world of the ancestors, an ecology of souls in the collective unconscious. The mind is an organ of perception to look deep into the invisible landscape. Im so happy Uthred can now rest with everyone else in the halls of valhalla, in the dream…DESTINY IS ALL
Could you tell more on your 🍄 experiences with pagan related themes like the Valhalla hall in your trips? I've noticed a lot 🍄 plays a big role in almost all pagan cultures regarding their spirituality and seeing the god's
It's a pity so much was told in this movie it could have been it's own season. Although I loved to see my beloved characters from the show again in this movie, realizing how much I'm going to miss this show 🥲

Lo there do I see my father, Lo there do I see my mother, and my sisters, and my brothers, Lo there do I see the line of my people back to the beginning. Lo, they do call to me, They bid me take my place among them, In the halls of Valhalla, where the brave may live forever.
Has anyone else noticed that the bit that starts around 2:01 is a rendition of the Dane “theme” the show has used since at least season 2 with Sigefrid and Erik? Just brilliant…
The ending was absolutely fantastic but sometimes i wonder if in addition to Uhtred being invited into Vahalla, that he was also invited to Heaven too with Aethelflaed, Osferth and other Christian characters there. I dont know, maybe it would have worked, maybe not. Just a thought.
Farewell brother 😢 it gladdens to know that Odin prepares the benches for a feast. Soon you shall be drinking ale from curved horns,m the valkyries summoned you home.
The end was poetic and beautiful, Uhtred looked like Jesus Christ with the light reflecting on him, with the Christian clothes and then the crown that was the candle lamp above his head.
@@DavidSmith-rh6qwAlfred was. Aethelflaed was. Hild was. Leofric was. Thyrra was. Beocca was. Perhaps it is to express how Uhtred was torn between his loyalties to those he loved and that in the end they all fought for what they believed in, Saxon or Dane. It is very human and Christ-like to have it in your heart to love all.
I still haven't adapted to that ending, we know that uhtred from Bebbamburg must die but it's sad and beautiful at the same time, it's a pity that the director of this series didn't give it another season there. because he had enough argument to do two or three more seasons. but nothing will continue to see it the same until Netflix removes it. both THE LAST KINGDOM and the film
Truth be told ANY last kingdom fan worth his salt wanted a seasons 6-10, we all wanted THAT. But, seeing Uthred at the gates of the afterlife was a moment I didn’t know I needed to see. Could have been worse than not getting a season 6, could have been worse not seeing Uthred looking at old friends long gone in the halls of Valhalla. Uthred was on the path of righteousness the whole entire time. And kept his honor throughout the entire trip of life itself, the brutal and beautiful human experience in history
beautiful scene and amazing ending -- if only the film could have been a full-length series ! the fact that they still made an excellent film despite their time restraints shows how skilled the whole team are. i really think it is the best made series i have ever seen, definitely my all-time favourite, and it got better with every season; season 5 especially was incredibly well put together and, again, despite the time restraints! both the film and season 5 really captured that Shakespearean sense of tragedy what with all that fatal miscommunication and the music threading all the scenes together really felt like a drumbeat carrying you towards inevitable catastrophe! it is a shame the series was so underrated and couldnt be renewed for more seasons but i'm so grateful for what we had ! i liked the ending here but like other commenters i agree it would have been especially moving if Young Ragnar had been present too (maybe rather than Haestan haha) but I imagine the actor wasn't available. i felt that when Uhthred looked away from Valhalla and looked forwards it represented his Saxon past and his division between the Dane and Christian afterlives -- and like another commenter said he looked very Christ-like at that moment. I imagined that when he looked forwards and smiled he was seeing Aethelflaed perhaps coming to get him so they could be together again
Uhtred deserved his place in Valhalla, he had United the country and pretty much single handed created England, I feel we should have seen the choice being made so we could get the closure for the viewers. Is he dead? Is he not?
It was never made clear if he died in battle or of old age in the books either though, cause supposedly the books are his memoirs and he has to be alive to have written them, but he could've very well died in a battle off page and we wouldn't know

Omg
U comment just gave me goosebumps.
Shit
Damn!
I'm so sad the series ended. It was a masterpiece. Vikings could never reach the epicness of TLK.
Right?! I’m currently on book 8, I have 5 more to go and I’m already dreading the end 😂
verie cool
Vikings is better until Ragnar's death after that it sucks
Both are good, why do you have to compare everything lol
@@mago32443 Because LK has not the attention it deserves compared to vikings.

100% better series than Viking's based on real story also
