Michael Bolton is a power house! This isn’t even one of his best songs. He’s also a great songwriter. A lot of people make fun of him, but I saw him in concert in Phoenix in 1992, and there wasn’t a woman in that audience who wouldn’t have left with that man! Me included. Just saying. Listen to his version of “When a Man Loves a Woman”.
Not hard to understand the reasons why! Some people have that effect on people; I've heard that even straight men when they first meet Brad Pitt begin to wonder about themselves! LOL

It's his style and music that people make fun of; he was certainly popular in his day, but particularly with "mature" ladies. He was wildly out of step with the younger generation at the time, who found it easy to make fun of his earnestness and soft-rock sound. But he laughed all the way to the bank, and now that the times have changed again he doesn't seem as uncool.
Even in the 90s when it was cool to hate him though, I don't think anyone was saying he didn't have an all-time voice.

(1989) Can't even listen to this song, lost everything I own in a house fire & this song came out. Uplifting isn't the word I would use. Powerful for sure, 35 years later & I still have to turn it off if it comes on. If I don't, I turn into a mess.

Fantastic live in concert and helps local charities wherever he goes. Doesn’t write a check he gets a list of what a shelter needs and delivers it. Also has baseball games between his bandmates and local teams.
I saw him in concert as well in my very early 20's or late teens. I went with my mom we both loved his music at the time.

You should check out Micheal Bolton with Kenny G doing " Georgia on my mind ". Fun Fact about Michael Bolton, he was a die hard softball player. Him and his band would play softball games against local teams when he toured. Sometimes playing double headers so more people ( teams ) would get a chance to play against them. They would take donations at all the games and donate the money to local charities. He also put out a video about playing softball and hitting techniques. Surprisingly he was a very good ball player !!!!!!!

Michael claims the words came to him while sleeping, but his version, was word for word, with the exact musical notes. A jury found him guilty, and he ended up paying for rights to use the song. I love all his music, no matter what. He had a powerhouse voice.

Love this song but being an 80s teen I was used to the Laura Branigan (Gloria,Self-Control) version.It went #1 in 1983 so I heard it for the first time then.But Michael wrote the song and then when he decided to go solo what better song than to sing but one of your own 😊 He has other great hits too!

I saw him in concert about 20 years ago, in my early 20’s. Went with my mom and friends. I have never seen a room of so many middle aged women LOSE THEIR MINDS!! By the end, I was with them! He is so great on stage, I was converted to his sexiness! Got to meet him too, super nice!
