I now work @ a National Union that represents postal workers & the fight/struggle continues. They want the real estate & the enormous revenue associated with it all. I wish it were that easy . . . but here's the real problem ~ Louis DeJoy is a wanker, who was "appointed" into the position of Postmaster General by none other than King Orange, Donnie The Chump. However, the U.S. Postmaster General cannot be fired by the President of the United States, and can ONLY be removed with a majority vote by an independent body known as the Board of Governors of the United States Postal Service. 🙁
He's there to destroy it. Our postal workers do a great job, in spite of his crap.
My postal carrier won't deliver a package if its too big to fit in my mailbox. He puts a tag in my mailbox marked "not at home" and then expects me to drive to the post office and pick it up, even though someone paid the post office to deliver it.

What the hell does congress expect with Trump assassin Louis DeJoy in charge of the postal service. He openly told America that he was going to rip apart our postal system. And now, as of this time, his plan to destroy the postal system has now been fulfilled... by attempting to shrink the postal system into a private model that WILL NOT and CANNOT work inside of the federal government. Anyone who sells on eBay knows how badly the postal system functions.... billions spent on a package trucking system nobody wanted or is needed. And, there there's three rates of shipping: corporate, preferred and retail. Nope, the law that provided bulk and retail is gone... Worse, guess which shipping company usps corporate rates are less competitive..... ups. Geeeee...... wonder why?

This is the same man who had many sorting machines dismantled to slow the mail in certain areas and had hundreds of mailboxes removed so the people could not do mail-in ballots before the election. He needs to be removed.

One of the worst Postmaster Generals I've worked under. The post office main problem is management. I'm retired now but I loved doing my job of getting the mail out for 30 years all across the world. 🇺🇲

Bet you didn’t know that ever since he took over he sub contracted XPO to do Hub to Hub transit mail delivery. It used to be done by USPS. He owns stock in XPO.

I'm a small business owner who runs an e-commerce business, I send 98% of my customer orders via USPS. Every since DeJoy took over, the quality of service has decreased considerably...and, it's not the postal carriers' fault. Sure, there have been some carriers at a few facilities who have not done their jobs sufficieny, and even some have actually stolen or lost mail intentionally, but that's not why USPS as a whole is spiralling downward! This incompetence really hurts small businesses like mine. Additionally, shipping costs have also skyrocketed since he became PG, which makes matters even worse. They cannot get rid of that dude fast enough IMO. 🙄😒💩
He needs to go. We need a Postmaster General who fights for the postal workers AND gets the mail delivered on time. Stop with this consolidation of distribution hubs already.

As a 3rd generation Mailman, and 27yr veteran of the USPS, it is upsetting to see how we're being used as political pawns by the GOP. We've gone from receiving and shipping items in days to longer unimaginable times. Dejoy is using his logistics firm to ship postal items by truck around the country. He is not only destroying the postal service from within but also lining his pockets. However, it is very true that he could've been replaced by now by the Biden Administration. Mail in ballots will be a hot buttoned topic very soon
If anyone has any sense, they use UPS, or other companies. No one trusts the post office and the service is crappy.

What they’re angling for now is to make the service slower, more expensive, and less reliable to drive business away from USPS and towards corporate delivery service.

Only the Board of Governors ( of the post office) can replace DeJoy. The board only has 2 of the 3 positions filled, this is McConnell's play. The senate has to approve new Governors ( tied up by McConnell) in order to convene and remove DeJoy. So until we are allowed to get a full board of governors, we are stuck with him.
Unfortunately a current president can't fire some people the previous president appointed. There is no fix term. DeJoy can serve as long as the board of Governors approves.

Louis Dejiy should NEVER have been put in the Post Master General position. He wasn't on the candidate list in the first place. Trump wanted him there to delay mail for the 2020 Election, looks like Dejoy is getting his delays in gear for the 2024 November Election.

I agree 100%! But--and I forget the reason why--there is something about DeJoy's job that the firing of has to be decided upon by a specific committee or something like that. When The Postal Board of Governors get a Democrat majority, and the Board members vote to terminate him. The president appoints the Postmaster General, but he is not able to fire them, which I think is weird. Anyway - that's how it works. He can only be terminated by majority vote of the Postal Board of Governors. You can email them and tell them to get off their rears and do so. Emails can be sent via the USPS website, or Google USPS Board of Governors. I encourage EVERYONE to do so.
