      With bench dips the further away you are the more triceps and front delts will be involved. Delts at the bottom and triceps will feel tension at the top. A parallel bar would be better for chest in my opinion.

    For me with dips it is important to fully lock out my elbows before jumping off or it really kills my shoulders in a bad way. Maybe a tip for people that have the same issue

    • @latifa8828
      @latifa8828 3 роки тому +1

      It’s probably the ‘jumping off’ that’s making your shoulders feel this way. Next time performing dips, try to put a bench or some sort of stool under the dip bar. This way, you can just rest your weight on the bench once you finish your set, instead of having to jump off the bar (or whatever you’re using) while already fatigued

    • @daddyguy29
      @daddyguy29 3 роки тому

      I try to avoid locking out because I get elbow pain in my left arm.

    • @peamutbubber
      @peamutbubber 3 роки тому +7

      @@daddyguy29 yo if ur getting elbow pain from dips, it's probably triceps tendonitis, nothing serious but take a week or two off. Then try to work on holding the top dip position for a couple of minutes to develop tendon strength before going

    1. Decline barbell/dumbell bench press (for DB, go on the floor and make a glute bridge on a bench/box)
    2. 3:44 Decline cable floor press (grab a bench to create a glute bridge, make a straight line from one cable to your chest to the other)
    3. Weighted chest dips. Go heavy and lean forward! This is the most important exercise and it will make your lower chest wider.

    He's 100% right about dips being number one, but it is imperative to do this exercise with a WIDE GRIP for chest widening, where unfortunately most tricep dip bars are narrow. Therefore, find a wide stance tricep bar, or do it on box jump matts WIDE APART as he does in this video. Close grip adds bulk to the lower chest, but diminishes the chest widening effect that a wide grip will give you.
