As a Canadian, I can confirm that we loooove to price gouge. Especially on imported goods. Some Canadian companies even charge in US dollars because of the exchange rate. I hang my head in shame 😞

I like the cookie sheet action at the end with the neck brace. I don't see how they can justify $3,000 price tag which is more expensive than a Gibson and Epiphone released a copy of the 1958 Korina explorer a few years ago for about $600 and now they have one for $1300. I do like the hammer claw bushing removal technique, I have used it myself several times while working on guitars.
i like your style! my friend came over one day to see me copying the outline of a rifle stock on a killer stock blank by dad bought by chance cause it had a defect and was dirt cheap. my buddy noticed i only had a few tools a corded drill a chunk of broken hack saw blade and a set of hobby chisels and a rasp. he told me their was no way i could make cool target stock for my old target rifle with only those tools..until i explained step by step how i was going to do it witch he still doubted but i persisted and 3 months later i was half way threw with the last step witch was the finish process that takes forever! it turned out great! i knew it was gunna work because it was the same setup that i built my strat body with and that was a much harder project.
Got me a Kathy too. Must be something to the name, still together after 30+ years or it could be that I'm a great catch😁.

Looks pretty good! I’d have gone silver instead of gold too. But THREE grand seems like a LOT.
All guitars are now made on CNC machines. I have a bunch of them I bought on Amazon that with a bit of TLC, maybe a few after-market upgrades play every bit as good as any of the contemporary "over-priced" units.
One I'm particularly happy with is my Harley Benton 500SC. It's designed after a white Les Paul Custom w/gold hardware. The neck is .010" at the 7th fret and string height is 1/16" at the 12th fret. Plays like butta. $158 to my door. Yes I slapped some pickups in it, brass nut, tuners, but the frets, binding and the basic foundational build in general was immaculate.

Hey Shawn, over many of your video's, I see you using a cheap plastic string winder. I purchased a PRS string winder. Convertible Drill Bit Peg Winder. On the back of the box it says, PRS Multi-Function String Winder. It's a 2 piece winder! U can use it manually or chuck it in a drill. I want to throw away my cheap plastic winders! Definitely worth checking out!!! They happened to have it in stock at my local music shop/ (C.A. House music.)

Sadly in UK Wilkinson tuners are about £30 but the grovers go for anything from £90 to £130, massive difference, do like the grovers myself

I’ve seen Palermo guitars before. So if I understand correctly, you’re paying $3000 for a $300-ish Chibson guitar and $2600 for a Canadian setup? I’m sure there’s also import fees to many countries with the price. Better off going directly to the seller and having them make the very same guitars for a fraction of the price.

Not sure how that is $3000.00? The certificate said it was refurbished and setup by Polermo, but it did not say it was built by them. Looked to have Chinese parts mostly, so it was probably a Chibson originally. That means it cost a few hundred at most. How is a setup with Wilkinson tuners constitute three grand? Lol!
Not gonna pay $3,000 for a Gibson copy. Gibsons are about 1/2 the price too.

Im good friends with Mike Palermo he fixed the hospitals guitar for free when i was in the hospital alot of patience enjoyed playing and listening to that guitar i know his reliced guitars go for $5000 and the guitarplayer for alice cooper owns something of his hi mike if you see this Scott

Some people just don’t like fancy gold! They’re also harder to take care of because the gold plating often gets eaten away if it’s cheaply made and you don’t use the right cleaning products.

I don't understand the aversion to using an electric drill when the operator is super skilled.The nay sayers know nothing about modern drills, the slip clutch etc.,so you don't over strip.Some drills are more expensive than the guitars being worked on.
