My husband's family were born and raised in Taos but now live in California. They have deep roots and history there. We return as often as we can. You did an amazing job in capturing the traditions and heritage of Taos. We enjoyed this video so much and we spread the word to our family. My family were from Albuquerque so I enjoyed seeing Old Town and all its charm. Thank you so much!
I liked your Roswell T-Shirt; the drone footage, you hiking along the Rio Grande. Thank you, Robert, for taking your time & equipment to share with MEeee your real-life outdoor adventure.
@@TravelingRobert Keep Minnie Tinnie, Robert; you've got a Truma Aqua-go HWH, an easy start capacitor inside your AirConditioner which are two modifications you'll NOT find on any new Travel Trailer. As long as MT provides shelter from a storm, you've got it all. And if you are ever passing through Reno, NV. I hope we can meet up.
Excellent, as usual. I had to stop the footage several times over the aerial shots of the Rio Grande Gorge and feast my eyes of such awe inspiring splendor. What a glorious "spot of earth". Among many, many other glorious places of our nation. Good work.
Hello Robert! You sure did a very amazing job in this video! I am from NM and I always have thought Taos was a very beautiful small town that is sure growing! I love the galleries! There is never enough time to see all the beauty you could enjoy! The food is great! That Burrito sure looked yummy 😋 Thanks for sharing beautiful NM with us your viewers! Have a safe trip to Durango Colorado!
I absolutely love your New Mexico videos. New Mexico is hands down my favorite state and I've been to 44 states all together. Thank you for doing New Mexico justice. You're amazing! 👏
When you were in the Taos Pueblo, the oven attached to the homes you videoed is called a Horno. Pueblo people make the best bread in this outdoor oven! I hope you got to try some while in New Mexico! There are 19 Pueblo Soverign Nations in New Mexico. Taos is just one.
Love this! My brother lives in Sante Fe area. I think you did an awesome job showcasing the beauty of the region! My brother moved to that area 30 years ago... 1st time I heard about 'boondocking", befoe it was a "thing", and all the solar options, and crowds. He would boondock spring, summer, fall, then get a short term place for the wiinter months to save up money for a house. I love the region! Now, he boondocks to get away.. for fun!
Goooood Morning from Va. Thanks for a little trip with my coffee. My favorite was the awesome drone footage. The switch backs and bridge was so cool. I would probably feel the same way going under bridge. That's when my signal or something crazy would happen and going after it would have been out of the question. Ha. Better safe and have drone. I saw for a sec you have the same flag with color stripes for the different services in your Colorado rear window. First time i've seen someone else with same one. Ha. I like it. Looking forward to Colorado part coming up. Cant wait to visit. Cheers
Robert as always the wait was worth it! Excellent video. Still “Living the RV Dream” through your videos until we can actually participate! Thank you for your wonderful work!
Spectacular video. Fascinating things in Taos and how they were built. Very excited to see your next video in Colorado. It always has been my dream to go to Colorado. Drive safe and see you on the next episode. As always, thanks so much for having us on the road with you. Have a great Thanksgiving with your family and friends. 🤟🏻😊🤟🏻
Great video, I was fortunate enough to live in Taos for 10 years. I shared some of my memories in my inexpensive book Taos Tales (on Amazon) . This makes me want to go "home" again.
As you went through Santa Fe New Mexico, on the right when you turned into the old town court area, with the cathedral in front of you... you passed the Al Fonda Hotel... My uncle worked there as a bell boy in the late '20s and early '30s, My mother who was their sister drove route 66 to visit him, her brother when route 66 was a dirt road!
Dennis Hopper's grave site is really close that the St. Francisco church! I'll be there on my way to Angel Fire for some downhill mountain biking this friday.
We dont like to be photographed due to trapping our spirit in the picture. It's an old belief and its mainly our older generation that believes that. We honor our elders by respecting that belief.
Hello Robert. Thanks for letting me travel the country vicariously through your videos. New Mexico is one of my favorite states. The next time you pass through New Mexico, you might consider visiting the town of Clovis in Eastern New Mexico. You should visit the Norman Petty Recording Studios where Buddy Holly made a lot of his recordings. It is by appointment only, and they ask for at least a two week notice. There is also the Norman and Vi Petty Rock and Roll Museum off of Main St. in Clovis. As far as places to stay, Oasis State Park is between Clovis and Portales. Just a few suggestions for something different for you.
We were there Aug 24th with my wife's Aunt. We saw the Earthship Biotecture recycled homes, did the tour there, the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge, the Ernest Blumenschein Museum, the Hacienda de los Martinez Ranch, the Kit Carson Home and Museum, and there was an antique car show on the plaza. I will be sharing the video on FB with her Aunt, she'll get a kick out of it.
This is the same trip I want to take my family on we have been planing it for 1 to 2 years now. I love and cant wait for Sunday mornings. Today is special Today I can watch Traveling Robert and It is my 40th Birthday!!! Today is a good day!!
Thanx Robert, great vid. I skiied Taos about 10 yrs ago, stunning scenery and great weather being the southern rockies. Very expensive though. Btw that would of been cool if you flew the drone under the bridge, but why chance it, those drones aren't cheap.
I am a long time resident of Taos (20 years) and it was pretty cool seeing everything through the lens of a video cam for once. The wide lens changed the way it really looks but at the Farmer's Market it seemed more like I know it to be, more intimate view. Next time check out the Taos Ski Valley & the Village of Arroyo Seco along the way (summer or winter).
I will forever be fascinated by the Earthships, as my brother works there in Taos for Earthship Biotecture. Hope you got to go back and visit the Visitors Center!
Beautiful, we hope to get our first RV soon, hopefully by March cause we are driving part of route 66 for my Husband's 66 birthday. Carthage, M0 to Santa Monica, CA. Your Videos are so inspiring.
GOOOOOD EVENING! Excellent, Excellent!! I really enjoyed this video and the drone footage gets another Excellent from me specially. I think you were right not flying the drone under the bridge. One thing the rio grand gorge must have been caused a back up in the river causing a huge lake of water, an a sudden and violent release of the water to cut that canyon. Grand canyon was formed the same way. Thanks for the video again.
There was over 150 women, children & elders inside when the old St. Jerome church was destroyed. The Rio Grande Gorge Bridge can be seen in Terminator Salvation, Natural Born Killers, Twins, The Longest Yard & many other movies. Sadly it's also where people go & jump to their death.
Love the video! Next time you’re in Taos get some Michaels Kitchen, it has been here for over 40 years and the food and bakery is delicious. Their pastries are made fresh everyday there at Michaels, also check out the Taos Ski Valley and the scenic drive which takes you through Red River, Eagles Nest, Angel Fire & Taos.
Again, another great adventure you shared with us!!!!! Thank you!! But were those switchback roads leaving the hot springs.... were they one way????? So Scary - even if one way!!!! Thanks again!!
Durango, love that place, Have you ever gone to Silverton,co? I spelled it wrong but is wonderful, my dad Always scared us so bad going up that tiny 2 lane highway,we saw bears in the mountains, it was stepping Back in time going down the winding road, then you see this tiny town, with salon girls swing from the ceiling The saloons are like what’s on my tv every day on Gunsmoke. Be Safe, on all your adventures, God Bless Again Thanks for taking us with you👍👍💕💕😃😃
Hello from Utah!! If and when you go through Taos you should stop at Michael's Restaurant there on Main Street. They have the best breakfast and lunch and a bakery in the same shared space. Best coffee and pastry in Taos.
