Went to Taos NM rapidly after I got out of high school... that was a very short-lived trip, 54yrs ago. I learned FAST that I hated the LOOK and weather of every DESERT. I love the green of Missouri. 😁😁😁😁😁😁
Get used to having things torn up. Last summer/fall (out for 7 months in the Rocky Mountains) over the winter I have replaced: two vent caps that got raked off, a fridge vent cover that got cracked (but held together for months with 100 mph tape), a amber running marker on the top front of the camper, clear lens cover on light on side of camper, and buffed out most of the scratches running the length of my truck camper. But...it's the reason I got a truck camper...to go where others fear to go. You guys are doing it right!!!
Side note to pouring oil of any can, big or small, there is a reason why every jug are like littlebit triangle shaped. On that big jug just turn it "upsidedown", handle side should be bottom/pointed on engine so that wont do any splash or gasping and no mess around or enginebay area. I probably explained pretty confusingly but maybe you understood what iam saying :D English is not clearly my native language :D
Hope you enjoyed your stop in Taos. I've been here for 15 years but sadly now packing to move my Mom closer to family. Thanks for sharing your life. 😊 safe travels!
Nice. Glad you came to my backyard. Taos is fun with great snow which they got 3 days ago. Ikon 2021/22 is already for sale. Have a great spring skiing.
Hi Jean! We loved Taos and will certainly be back with our bikes for some summer fun. We are very much looking forward to some t-shirt weather spring skiing as well!
Flip your oil jug around so your spout is up, pouring from the high side of the jug. Let’s you get the jug almost fully horizontal before it starts pouring and it doesn’t “glug” all over the place as you pour.
I have skied and traveled most of the areas you have visited in CA, UT, CO, NM and AZ over the past 50 years. Nice to revisit them through younger eyes.
A fumoto valve is great for making those oil changes less hassle and totally tool free. I also have found a "plug" on amazon that you can screw onto the oil filter and then pull it out with a handle, so you don't spill any oil. Very handy and only a couple bucks.
One of the few channels I look forward to the next episode. The bag on the oil filter is genius. I will try that next time I do one on my 65 C10. Keep up the cool episodes and I cannot wait to see the truck get some new suspension.
Thanks! Glad you are enjoying our videos! I learned the bag trick from a friend of mine who is a big Cummins guy. The first time I changed the oil on this truck I made a HUGE mess all over the driveway.
I am just proud that Riley didn't blow up the cake in the instant pot!......... And some what disappointed that he didn't. The metal silhouette animals looked very well done and pretty cool on the trail. The snow looked amazing! But glad the snow is there and not here in Tx! Great episode!
I was happy there was no explosion! 😉 That trail was way more fun that we ever could have hoped for. Luckily I read about the silhouettes before we arrived or the cat would have given us a real startle!
I can tell we only scratched the surface and are looking forward to returning this summer! We accidentally ended up back in Mammoth and it’s looking like 12” of snow last night/today 🤘🏻
In my meanderings around the Southwest, I managed to miss Taos and the Petrified Forest. Again snow and new fresh snow. U and before changing oil you shold put a cuple od dcl gas oil in engine. Cleans engine very well and oils runs out smuthe. Cheers 🍻🍷
Riley, man, don't throw rocks into the cougar den... you'll just piss it off and make it come out! Courtney, did you have just frybread or did you find yourself a Navajo taco? If you're headed south from Flagstaff, stop off at The Fry Bread House in Phoenix (4545 N 7th Ave). Be sure to also try the green chili stew. And, for that matter, even if it's the wrong time of year I sure hope you had some green chili stew while in NM!!
I hope that when you get after that suspension you seriously consider individually controlled airbags at each corner so that you can level really easily.
Hey guys such amazing adventures every week. I really look forward to seeing you on Sundays. Wow you get into way more snow than we do here in Southern Ontario, and you can have it. Lol ❤️🇨🇦❤️ Cheers!!!
I think that your design is awesome! Just checking is there anything that you would have done differently if you were to build another exoskeleton? The structural panel construction of yours is pure genius! I wonder if you offset the foam core if it would create a key way for the panels to join together and eliminate any thermal bridging at the seams...

one question: we know that you have insulation and heaters to warm yourselves in cold weather.
