I think the fact that both of these builds, and apparently many other high end ones, share nearly 80% of the same skills says something about the skill system.
It shows how lazy the build creators are. There's plenty of build variety if you actually go looking for it, but if you just listen to bums who continue to overuse the same PlateUp/AmmoFun/Rep/CombatReload combo you'll keep wondering why "pd3 doesn't have build variety."
@@Ab23_1Unfortunately those are literally the most effective skills and skill combinations you can have in the entire game. DLC weapons do feel P2W and I hope X-mas will offer up sometbing that either levels the field or perhaps just use the prefab system heavily (maybe creator prefabs as a limited thing)
@ciphergacha9100 that's not the point, the point is that they are an issue from the core. I know that a prefab by definition can't be customized. However, that doesn't excuse that they couldn't have done something else instead of doing presets. Payday 2 had skins that didn't lock the weapon to a single set of attachments, and even for the couple that did have unique attachments, you could still have the overall color of the weapon AND change the attachments that it came with. Prefabs are at war with the weapon customization and weapon leveling systems, immediately and completely negating both, that's the problem; a problem that payday 2 already solved.
@@ciphergacha9100 I understand not having the ability to switch out attachments, but atleast let us repaint them, I don't want a big goofy American flag design pasted all over my gun to have a viable weapon

Ditch Unyielding and instead get Heavy Hipfire. The stun is OP because there's no distance drop off for procing. You won't get much damage at larger distances, but it won't matter because you will have plenty of time to either run up and kill, swap to the Garstini, or run away without getting shot.
Excellent skill builds and weapon assessments. As you mentioned, I hope Starbreeze roll the transporter line into the baseline character build or combine these skill lines, since it's such an important part of all builds. I agree, a skill line Re-work is so necessary. Many skills could be combined to make the game so much more fun and diverse, without all the bloat that are in these skill lines now. Another 5 skill points would be super fun too, if the rework won't happen soon.
Honestly, even as little as 2 more would be nice. Not only would it round off at a nice 30/30, it would be just enough to squeeze in the Transporter skills for double bags or deployable. Big agree that some skills need combining or integrating into base kit though
Thank you, i've been having trouble understanding pd3 skill building since I come from pd2. The rifle build was so fun in my first game i came here to thank you for it, keep making content knowley love you for that.
Something I realized about skills during this video, and why they feel weird, is that it feels like (to me at least) they built skills around the concept that players would have roles they fill, which doesn't really work with random lobbies or solo players, and kinda leads to everyone trying to fill a little bit of everything.
you absolutely stole my one shot build with the ar. adaptive armor, plate up to replenish. adrenaline from trip lasers to keep you invincible. such a power build that i never see anyone running. now that this videos out i imagine i’ll see more people running this
Just tried the first build after having troubles making a Solo Overkill Loud build work well, and damn does it shred. Very good on specific heists that have tight chokepoints (Dirty Ice is a good example). Thanks!
I think to make builds more unique we need to rework the edge, grit rush system or add more ways to prox Edge and Grit and more ways to refresh them both rather than just reloading being the only good option. For example the only actually reliable source of edge really is either gunslinger, sharpshooter or enforcer aced. Other than that most of them require to do something extremely stupid/situational or just shooting 35 bullets but that's very unreliable to just stand there shoot 35 shots without doing much damage. I also think Grit suffers the most from this, only actually reliable source is enforcer really. I have never seen anyone prox grit with move and cover (vaulting gives grit but uses rush), or cooker (holding a nade for a second) because they are simply not worth picking up
Changing E/G/R is a huge barrier to fixing the skill system. Right now Enforcer gives you E/G for free, and we have three stupid easy options to generate Rush on demand with many builds taking all three at once. We need the current methods of generating Edge and especially Grit to be hugely diversified so there's actually good reason to think about what source you are getting the buffs from
@@darthvaderreviews6926 absolutely agree. So far the builds "feel" similar because the grounds for them are the same. I would love for the turret build stuff like "after 5 kills the turret gets you gain Grit" and then something for edge and refresh for them. We need more unique ways to gain them other than shooting. And refreshing too, so far the only one I remember from memory that refreshes both grit and edge is combat reload.

"Shields are frustrating to deal with-" No? Never have I ever had a single issue with shields. First off, I run Solid, which completely trivializes them, and many many other stuns in the game, which WILL keep you alive. But, let's say you don't want Solid; that's okay! All you have to do is Bullfight them! Bait them to bash, then sidestep. While they're locked into their animation, you have so much time to take them out quickly. Their hitbox isn't that big, so it isn't hard to sidestep them. I usually just sprint into, and around them.
To me personally, skilllines like Fortitude and Transporter just don't seem fun, so I don't run them
And I feel kind of judged sometimes when my teammates look at me run off with only one bag, as that's all I can carry
But like, I'm sorry, I play the game to have fun and I don't wanna waste four skillpoints to make that playstyle viable
I enjoy watching your best build videos, but over the years of playing PayDay 2 and now 3 I learned that they just aren't the right thing for me
I remain a Very Hard player for now, since I don't think doing what you need to do for Overkill would be fun for me
Havent played since the first release month. The builds in this video still are so uninspired and boring. Thats ofcourse a game design problem and has nothing to do with you. Part of why Payday 2 was so great is the huge varity in skills and the setups you can run. And a build is not, get buff x y z and onehit things with a gun. To limit almost every aspect of Payday 3 buildcrafting by having the same 3 buffs that have very little impact on the gameplay experience is just boring and bad. Wont get me to play unless they change the skill system significantly
I'm pushing for it! I have a lot of hope after what they've done with the Armour system.
@@TheKknowley i'm hopefull aswell. After all, this franchise was a huge part of my yunger self, and as you said, the changes they have made since release are in the right direction.
Close enough, welcome back Sicario lol
91971 McDermott Crest
are these bots straight up trying to dox youtubers now wtf
@@schlop1771 I think they are trying to find potential private information of the UA-camr by looking for blocked words.
you make the same build twice then complain that the skills dont have any variety even though there are loads of difrent playing builds for example i have a adreline build a 1 plate invinciblity shovilg build a 4 plate hardy build a sentry build and a sniper build and they share max 15 skill points
I have shown a few quite unique builds a couple of patches ago. I think even having 15 standard skill points is a bit of a problem!
I watched intro and then I remembered that I don't give a shit anymore.
👍
K bye
This game looks terrible, is there enough people playing to get a full lobby?
Good shit bud. Coming back to see how PD3 is after the atrocious launch. Seems like I thought. They're taking the PD2 approach. I..e the game will be great at the 5year mark.
Well...at least the servers work. Lol. Thx for the info
