    I discovered that dish in England when I was studying there.. I had Korean housemates and they cooked Mandu one day... and the interesting part is we (Turks) have the similar traditional dish which is called "Mantı" :))

    • @KwonsCorner
      @KwonsCorner  5 років тому +3

      I looked it up Manti and it looks very similar to Mandu. Does it taste similar as well?
      What kind of Korean food have you tried?

    • @gk891

      Legend has it that the Korean mandu came from the Turkish manti (via the silk road). In Central Asian countries like Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, they have something very similar too. In Afghanistan, they call dumplings mantou.

      @@KwonsCorner In Kazakhstan as well we eat this dish. We also call it the same as Turks do. Cabbage, meat (beef, lamb, horse meat), potato and wrap it up with simple dough. Easy to cook, simple ingredients, but damn good taste.

      @samjones3546 3 роки тому

      Interesting. In mandarin Chinese (which is a northern dialect influenced by Siberian languages), plain steamed buns are called ‘mantou’. Mantou stuffed with a filling are called ‘baozi’, and dumplings are called ‘jiaozi’.

    I enjoy the CJ Duru Duru frozen Vegetable/Pork dumplings imported from Korea. I get them at Fooz Baazar here in Bridgeport CT, Can you tell me what Koreans have with dumplings? Any other vegetables and starch?

    This dish is originated from India Tamil nadu, where we say it kolukatai, we usually make this in sweet flavours as days pass on people found many ways to make it tastier, but this is originated from Tamil nadu without any doubt

    It's interesting to see many Korean leave bad comments under many video like "Hanfu is from Korea, Kimichi originated from Korea", but there's no one saying like Korean is stealing our dumplings. Interesting ha, different standards and distort history
