Of course it isn't a cover in the sense that we usually think of as 'cover versions'! But without Ian to sing it lacks the soul - the spiritual heart - of the song... No one on earth could capture that... it was his story
I agree with Hannah, in no way is this a cover. These are the people who recorded these songs in the 1st place, I'd much rather hear them than some other band doing JD covers.
@PoorOldBen85 personally I do. The same people who wrote the music in JD wrote it in NO. Changing a cosmetic feature like the name doesn't make it a new band.
also the style of how it is played is different to the original joy division one new order play it in their style and dont try to make it exactly the same as when they did it as joy division
Ian Curtis wrote lyrics AND music in both Joy Division albums. I still have both albums in my room, it says clear as day on the inside cover.
exactly. only thing is that Bernard hasn't got Ian's voice but I can live with it:)

Not a cover, but a brilliant version. Love it.

ONE TWO THREE FOUR !!!!
LOL.
They all wrote the song, Bernard was NOT the sole composer and I believe Ian Curtis actually came up with the riff for Love will Tear us Apart.
you believe........ hahaha
"COMEE OOON!"
Love New Order saw this gig.they were terrible......Bernard screaming......come on! What the hell was he thinking.
Trying to dance to this in six inches of liquid mud was hard, but achieved.
proud of You, and a bit jelaous
💓 💪

@PoorOldBen85
Except the Vocals they are Joy Division... with another Style of Music and 30 years later. ;)
bernard composed all the music on joy divisions songs ian would right the lyrics to each song once bernard had given hime the music
All the way to the BBC
That's assuming one considers Joy Division and New Order to be the same band. Personally I don't.
If Ian had lived and, one of the others died and then went on to form new order, would it be considered a cover then?
a cover!
its also not a cover either seen as bernard wrote the music bernard also sings it in his own style which is good
Ian por que te fuiste?

it's not really a cover...since they were just as much a part of JD as Ian was, so it's their songs too.
They are the only band who can do it justice.
i hate the way they turn it into a terrace chant
there football lads you lemon turd
NOT a cover.
Fall Out Boy??? WTF? Totally different generation...
