Great, I didn’t know you could do this until recently and will definitely try it. Why didn’t you also connect the iPhone to a monitor using a hdmi to lightning adapter?
I could actually just use the AirPlay, but I wanted to stay at my desk for this video. I could move the desk in front of the TV, but even without doing that, it was a very cool experiment. Thanks for sharing your opinion! :)
I mean if you hook it up to a monitor you basically got yourself a limited computer with plenty enough apps to get whatever you need done. Won’t be as good but it would definitely work no doubt
Without being biased whatsoever, but Samsung has the DeX software built into every fairly new Samsung smartphone. I can use a usual USB-C hub and connect a mouse, keyboard and an external monitor via HDMI and I have a full desktop experience. I think Huawei phones have a similar feature too. Do Apple phones have something similar?
Hey, iPhone do not have something similar to DeX. You can connect the external monitor, and sometimes (in some apps), it’s actually very useful, but overall, it’s nowhere near as good at being a desktop OS as DeX.
it's nowhere near as optimized as Samsung Dex but you can connect the iPhone to external monitor, hard drive and keyboard and mouse with the right accessories/dongles..
not how such, but personally I have tried DeX and it is definitely not very fast or stable. I prefer to use an iPhone 12 pro max with its screen, it is of higher quality and the software works better than DeX. Although DeX is more comfortable and practical, it is much more functional to use a simple iPhone with your hands
Are you still using your iPhone as a computer? I have been using it for a few weeks, I love it!! It’s totally impractical… and inferior… but it’s 80-90% of what I need.
That’s what I’ve literally been doing. My Xs max my only computer and my series S my entertainment. We’ve all been spoiled that’s all. A lot of high tech lappys and pcs and all that
Curious, how many different bluetooth devices could I use simultaneously on an iPhone 12 Pro Max? For example, could I use a keyboard, mouse & headphones all at once?
External screen is a first thing id add

Also, by some cheap reading glasses. If you sit up closer, the screen seems much bigger.
Maybe soon they can make a samsung dex like thing for ios 18

Yeah, for sure! The aspect ratio of iPhone will be what you will see in the screen, but other than that, it works perfectly fine.

@@jhowie pls share details on how to do this? What cables and adapters are required? Would be greatly appreciated
You can click the the 2 A’s on the url bar and put it in desktop mode for the web page your on.
Yeah, I can, but it is hardly making the page more useful. For websites optimized for mobile, I actually prefer to view it as a mobile version.
Kindly share Bluetooth keyboard and mouse type & possible purchase links, please. Thank you.
The keyboard is Bluetooth Magic Keyboard from Apple. Mouse is Logi MX Master 2S. Search on Amazon on any other store to find good deals.
@@EldarGezalov Thank you
I wish they give us the stage manager like the on on the iPad

¡Gracias! Estoy de acuerdo, ¡sería genial tener un dispositivo para todo!
Can I get a nice monitor for this to do other work? iphone 14 screen is just too small.
I’d be interested in a week in the life now with a brand new 15 pro max, iOS 17, and CapCut for the video editing.
Can Magic Keyboard & Magic Mouse works with iphone?
Yes, of course!
Please what's the name(brand name) of your Keyboard and Mouse.
Keyboard: Apple Magic Keyboard
Mouse: Logitech MX Master 2S
Thanks, instructions with a normal display would be great.
Thanks for your feedback!
Amazing. Just the video I was looking for 😃
Great to hear that!
That’s what I’m just gonna say 😮 it’s so much helpful thx dude

I haven't actually used it like that outside of this video. It was just an experiment to prove it can be done. I'm glad that you love it! 👍

You are using your phone as a desktop? It was an experiment, but it was cool for me to try. I wonder how do you like it.
@@EldarGezalov well no, not with this elaborate setup with mouse and keyboard and stuff
@@ripp3rjak934 wow, Glad to know it is possible!
interesting, thank you
Thanks!
Nice to see, Eldar!
Would be nice an other revision with the launch of the new Ios17!
Thanks! It was just crazy experiment, but it was fun :) Will do the iOS 17 too. Thanks for suggestion
Does anyone know the inhabitants of 459 Broadway Unit 5, New York NY 10013?
Yeap.
Where did you get the tripod from? Is there a link?
You can find it on Amazon as ‘Huawei Selfie Stick for Universal/Smartphones’
Please, is the Lumafusion version of iPhone different from iPad? If I use an external monitor, for an example...
Functionality is exactly the same. Due the the screen size, of course, the layout of the app is quite different, but everything else is the same.
@@EldarGezalov Thanks!

I don't know what's the limit, but I was able to connect keyboard, mouse, and headphones all at once.
@@EldarGezalov thank you. Do you think the "mini" version would accommodate as many just as well?
@@stevecaird it should work similar to the bigger models. the only difference in specs there would be RAM, battery, and screen size..
Suggestion, to make your video more attractive list the devices used in your description. make and model of each, do not wait for people to ask you.
Great video. Thank you!
Thank you 🙏🏻
Did you even jailbreak it?....
Of course not
@@EldarGezalov well if you did then could use it as an *actual computer* just saying :)
thanks for sharing this experience
It was a fun one to do! :)
Really good video quality!!! 🥳
Thank you, Fernando! :)
What did you feel like you had frustrating things?
What do you mean?
Great video!
Not the same as using an Android as a Desktop. As powerful as these iPhones are …
Yeah, if you are talking about Samsung Dex, that's obviously much more capable. Still, I thought it was fun to experiment :)
When you get inspired and copy the setup 😳
How was it? :)
@@EldarGezalov It was really good, I use my phone a lot so it was fun. I use my laptop more but occasionally i use that setup.
samsung dex it's better i gonna be blind if i work on iphone :D
