    Great informative post mate, had the same issue on an LF a few weeks ago, so if you could time these posts a bit more in line with me, then life could be a lot simpler 😂😂😂

      No this week is the old Fuel rail pressure issues (P228D & P0094 brothers have come for a visit🤣🤣🤣) but if it helps your dilemma, perhaps a good time of year for SAC issues?

      Got to love some fuel pressure faults 🤣 what component have you gone for? We seem to be doing alot of injector flushes on these new NGD'S so I'd love to give that a go on the older MX engines and see if it makes a difference injector wise.....save the customer some 💸💸💸💸💰!
      I think I'm going to do the SAC one! I can blabber on about CAN then and why customers fitting parts isn't a good way to save money!

    I have had the same faults but also unable to calibrate. I have been called out to many people who try to do this with out calibrating too. But on the mx11 and mx13 I have seen the gear split on the shaft. Causing it to just spin

      I wil have to stop going on holiday or atleast try and sort them before I go next time 🙈

    Hello Russell,
    Thank you for your attention. I appreciate the excellent videos you have on your UA-cam channel.
    Recently, in our country, there have been issues with the VTG board of the DAF 480 Euro 6 supercharger, leading to its malfunction. As a result, there is a trend of replacing the DAF 480 supercharger with the DAF 530 supercharger. They are mounting the DAF 530 supercharger and its components onto the DAF 480.
    In light of these circumstances, I wanted to seek your opinion. Do you approve of this action? What is your perspective on whether this change in the supercharger can address the VTG board problems? Additionally, if you have any insights or solutions to mitigate the issues with the DAF 480, I would greatly appreciate your input.

      Thank you for the comment about the videos. It means a lot 😎
      I take it the turbos you're referring to are the HE400 on the 480 and the HE500 fitted to mx-13 530.
      While I can't comment on power increases or what other modifications would be required to fully "uprate" the mx engine with the larger turbo, I do know that the actuator fault that causes U1159 and U1853 can have the faulty capacitor replaced which would make more sense to me that replacing a turbo

    Probably the most expensive turbo on trucks as you only can have OEM turbocharger

    Thought you now fill the radiator from the bottom up
    And the water pushes out the air before it

      Thanks for the comment 👌😊 I'd love to fill it from the bottom like a Scania but everything I've tried with DAF comes off the drain valve.

    If it’s not the actuator but the wiring, is there a common area it will be faulty? I’ve had the backs of the fuse boxes on the LF corrode badly on the pins for the plugs for the ABS etc, currently have an LF180 with the dreaded engine malfunction light that’s had a new turbo and actuator, it’s not the same actuator as this one, but same faults ”implausible or missing signal” “internal failure” any help greatly appreciated 🙌

      Hey thanks for the comment and watching the video 👌
      The actuator runs on on the same network as your other after-treatment (A-CAN) components. If your not getting faults for nox sensors, temperature sensors ect you can narrow this down to just your VTG actuator. Provided this plug maintains about 60 ohms resistance (just like the rest of the A-CAN network) and you have a reliable voltage and ground at the plug also I'd be looking at changing the actuator. The internal error fault is what I'd be using as evidence to base the replacement or parts warranty on provided you don't have any other errors on A-CAN.

      @@TRUCKTECHUK that’s interesting and good to know, it has faults on the upstream nox sensor, adblue metering valve and SCR catalyst also, I feel like my work life has been taken over by the Do Do Do Do sound of a DAF with an issue 😂

      Hey buddy thanks for the comment 👌😎. I should of removed the old one first and then tested it with my meter.
      It was more convenient to use the new one for the test.
      I'm quite convinced these faults would of cleared and we would of got the same result with the old Actuator I think.
      Failure usually happens when the actuator is hot, but with the software issue I was 90% certain I could of ordered a new one and got away with just fitting it ☺️

    Hey bro, you ever had the cable of the vtg actuator broken? I never had it, i always check fuse and if its good i replace vtg.

      Hey thanks for the comment 👌😃.
      If I've had the cable break, I'm usually seeing fault code U1011 E-CAN failure and red engine warning.
      This can be a tricky situation to resolve or even catch the fault happening.
      Software verification error i usually go with actuator once everything has checked out
