Good old MX11 fuel system faults. I have done quite a few pressure control valves on them. I did one a while ago that had water in the tank. Injectors, unit pumps everything fooked. Great upload Russel!
Hey thanks for the comment. I think fuel system faults are my biggest call-outs. I should look at buying these valves direct ha ha ha. Oh water is horrific, wouldn't surprise me if this has had water in looking at the fuel pipe corrosion 🥲

Ohh that's right pal, don't tell me...😅🙈 just today I was called to a truck because it had problems with the regeneration of P3796 and had to leave urgently, the problem was with the temperature sensors after the BPV and before the DOC The temperatures varied a lot, however, no error on the sensors. 🤦🏻♂️
Oh noooo 🥲🥲🥲🥲 well we did speak about the temperature sensors on the forum and how they should ambient when cold. Usually, the truck knows if one sensor reads say 300*c at the DOC then the DPF should be 550*c so I'm surprised you didn't get a fault code but we'll done finding that 👍😎
That's how I thought too, that it should give an error on the temperature sensors. It is an EAS 3, stationary regeneration failed because the temperature did not rise to the correct parameters and I succeeded with mobile regeneration when the engine was under load and high RPM.🙈
I do miss Snap-on making decent tools and unfortunately, I can never catch up with a Snap-on dealer to get things fixed so end up buying halfords stuff now 😅😅😅🫣
Hey thanks for the comment so the return I blanked off returns to the fuel tank. It's basically an open pipe. This must be shut when the trucks running or you lose rail pressure Which was what was happening in this instance
I see, I was only curious because of the none start, but then when leak off is into a container, the fault essentially remains the same, but the engine runs? If you catch my drift 😅
I'm convinced the driver just couldn't be arsed with it so said it didn't start 😂. One way is to leave it where it is and go home, I should have tried it first really but I was only relaying the customer's concern
Ive got a MAN TGA D2876, which i suspect is leaking fuel back to the tank when running, also has hard starts when left overnight or even just after refueling, could my pressure limiting valve be faulty?
Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but how did you know for sure there should be no fuel return at idle? I understand the rail pressure drops when the injectors operate, but does it always drop enough that there's no need for the relief valve to regulate the pressure?
Hi buddy. Thanks for the comment and the question. The conditions that the P.R.V. operate on this Delphi system is open at key off for pressure reductionin the rail and during an excessive pressure issue if I remember correctly, we could have checked the valve with a scope I suppose but from experience, if you have fuel out that valve during normal operation it's leaking off when it should be. No regulation of fuel pressure happens from this valve when it's running. It's all done via the fuel pumps 👍
@TRUCKTECHUK ahh yes of course the fuel pump metering solenoid valve on top of the high pressure pump should adequately control the pressure sent to the rail at idle speed. Thanks for answering my question and making these brilliant videos. 👏
Hey John, thanks for the comment. I've not had much to do with Scania unfortunately. Is it more of a engine vibration or through the steering wheels/cab?

thank you very much. I respect your work. may I ask? But does this sensor need to be changed with its unit or separately? Do you have a part number for this sensor?
Hi I have a mx11 which we did the cylinder head gasket on and can’t get it to run after. We have changed everything on the low and high side fuel system and still nothing.we watch live data and we can prime system to 150 to 180 psi with hand primer and then we turn over and no rail pressure rises.we have bypassed the fuel filter element and gone off the lift pump straight to the high pressure pumps and still nothing.we have taken the high pressure pump pipes off to the rail and watch the diesel come out of them but still no rail pressure any ideas?
How is the timing on the engine? Did you have the unit pumps out at all? Have you tried blanking the fuel injectors and monitoring rail pressure? Is your cam and crank signal okay?
So you have swapped the unit pumps over, cam timing is correct and you have blanked the injectors and it still won't make fuel pressure. Where is the truck?
Hi buddy. Yep so it's a 555 deal. 5 years of jaltest licence and back up 5 years of product warranty cover 5 years of payment @65 pounds a week. The kit is your to keep at the end of the term.
Excellent diagose as usual! My first thought when I read the title was too high internal leakage due to injector ring failing, isn't that a common issue anymore? I assume the PCV is actuated at engine off to depressurise the fuel high pressure part, is that correct? It could be good to issue a warning in the video concerning the pressures of the fuel system, fuel spray can be invisible (yes, really) and very harmful. You obviously know what you're doing but an uninformed individual could draw the conclusion that there is no risk in undoing the nuts of the fuel rail.
Hey Ray thanks for the comment. I've a video here where I do both this valve and all the injectors but it's 2 hours long.....so I'm cutting it down to upload one day. Yes the PCV should drop all rail pressure at the key off and not leak off during the running of the truck. You saying about pressures, I'm glad I didn't run the high-pressure test which would have taken the rail to 2500 bar 😅
Hey, thanks for the comment 👌. I've never used mole grips on one. I use a 'P' clip and a screwdriver to move it due to the potential damage you can cause to the body of the fuel pressure control valve.

Hi brother
How can I get JALTEST?
Hello. help me please. I have a daf xf106 2017. error P3960. which sensor needs to be replaced?
Off the top of my head that is a PM sensor fault. PM sensors are mounted on the outlet pipes on the SCR as they check for Particulate Matter AKA SOOT.
thank you very much.

But does this sensor need to be changed with its unit or separately?
Do you have a part number for this sensor?

Blanked all unit injectors off and still no pressure and both cam and crank signals are saying synchronised so believe timings ok
