- The new Jurassic World movie has some rumors saying it’s filming in Hawaii and could even be a prequel. Other rumors include dinosaur human hybrids and a John Wick or Escape From New York feel. It could go back to the islands (Nublar or Sorna) but honestly I’m not sure. Dinosaurs are definitely going to be in it and I give a more basic breakdown on what to expect.

If they ever go back to any Island, it should be either Isla Sorna, or other Five Deaths that haven't been explored.

Agreed. I think it wouldn't be to out there that the dinos went to other islands. Withe hubris of the people and companies involve they could of easily just overlooked the other islands.

In the books they had Jurassic Parks under construction on other Islands around the world for a Park in Europe, Asia etc. I think one was in the Azores for example. They should pick one of those islands.

Then I've got some bad news for you; that 90's aesthetic is gone forever; ie the slower pace, the realism, the more scientific approach. I feel that the new action-oriented story-telling is now a guaranteed common place for all future Jurassic movies going forward, (as the short-attention spanned Gen Z would probably be bored and on their phones without it.) So, sorry to tell ya; but that was then and this is now.
Unfortunately they will never capture the 90's aesthetics of the film, since they abuse CGI disproportionately like a drug. While their plot wrigint nowadays gone shallow and stale.
I want to see scary Dinosaurs again like were they were threaten in nature, scary, and were not the heroes of the Jurassic World Series but animals that brings fear of the unknown of the ancient past.

That wasn’t going to be part of a prequel. I believe that was one of the (dumb) ideas thrown out there for JP4, which never materialized because Michael Crichton and Stan Winston both passed away in 2008.
If they do a human Dino hybrid the franchise will officially be over. If they are not careful it will turn into Fast and Furious. Those started off good and now they are unwatchable

The whole idea of raptor tribe is human-like and seems silly to begin with. The part where they tame raptors is even dumber. It completely ruins the idea that raptors indeed are animals with animal behavior.

I feel like it’s too early to start a new trilogy, especially with the direction and reception that Dominion got. But a few spin off movies taking place before Fallen Kingdom and Dominion possibly would be a smarter decision. But in the meantime they can cook up a new story with better ideas for a new trilogy while the spin offs are being made and released.

The period between Jurassic Park 3 and Jurassic World has been untouched... they should either tap into that... or explore any of the other islands we've literally NEVER seen anything about.

I thinnk you are right, this sounds like better idea then attempting an unrealistic idea with prequel where Jurassic Park 1 has completely blocked out with its story from A to Z with no room for major incident to play out any story.
Jurassic World whole idea was overpampered with CGI and silly plot idea of ability to tame veloceraptors, which completely kills the whole Jurassic Park original vibe and atmosphere. Now we got only one option left - parallel stories and alternative avenues of the incident, perhaps Jurassic Park 1 chain of events but from worker, guard or scientist perspective!

A prequel on Isla Sorna before they took the dinosaurs to JP… they could do a lot with the hurricane hitting the island.

It would be interesting to see how they pull it off without making the first film’s story seem implausible. If there were accidents, escapes, and deaths on Nublar or Sorna or the other islands prior to JP, it’s hard to imagine Hammond moving forward with opening Isla Nublar’s park and being so positive about its success with Grant, Malcolm, and Sadler.
Hammond could also be kept in the dark about it while the missteps mount and culminating with the investors and Hammond discovering the Jophery incident since they have to go to the mainland to try to save him (ala the novel opening). Or it shows just how shady and hypocritical Hammond was before his character turn in JP...we already know he was with his "Spared no expense" thing.
We literally see the Big One kill a guy and Hammond just brushed it off, Muldoon constantly warned him of the dangers of the raptors but he still went ahead with them. I think he will similarly ignore any previous incidents.
I do like the idea of a prequel...depending on the storyline....but I think it'll be hard to pull off the start of JP without having the great Sir Richard Attenborough on screen. I guess they could go the way of Star Wars with Carrie Fisher...but if he's a main character it would be hard to pull that trick off. There's possible plot points/ways around not having Hammond on screen, but it'll involve some plot wiggling.
@@freemeg24 Star Wars pulled it off somewhat well with the late Peter Cushing. A good enough impressionist and that Cushing/Fisher face replacement can probably do it well enough to use....
Or as you say, find creative ways to not have him involved visibly (like make most of his dialogue over the phone and film Hammond from the back with his straw hat on so that anyone can really be a stand-in).

One plot idea would be a prequel when the first park is in development. Many things go wrong that eventually get covered up before the events of JP1. You've got to learn lessons about containing prehistoric monsters, and you've got to make mistakes to learn lessons. :)
Exactly. You remember Muldoon talking about the raptors testing the fences when they first meet him. I imagine they went through a lot of headache transporting the animals to the island.

I was saying in one of your older videos that I could see this new film being a prequel and I think it's the best route that they could do. Whether it's before or after the first movie, or before or after the lost world, I just hope it goes back to it's jurassic park roots. I could see it taking place either before the first movie or in between the first and second.

I really hope it to be a prequel movie set on Sorna that takes place between 2001 and 2015. The odds of this hapening are very slim, but a movie about the events that led up to Jurassic World and what crazy/weird experiments InGen did but were abandoned on Sorna or even BioSyn visiting the island are all ideas that would be pretty cool to see .

Really enjoy your content. Just curious if you have watched any of the animated show Camp Cretaceous on Netflix? I'm not deep enough into the fandom to know whether any aspect of that show is considered canon, but I have enjoyed watching parts of it with my kids.
The movie poster for Jurassic World has four claw marks. This is simply a theory regarding the new dinosaur "antagonist," however Ceratosaurus might be one of the major villains or the primary villain. I suggest Ceratosaurus because it had four long-clawed digits on its front foot.
And it's possible that it takes place on Sorna because Ceratosaurus has only been spotted on Sorna once before (Jurassic Park III), but didn't get as much spotlight as Spino or T-Rex did in The Lost World & JP 3 where both take place on Isla Sorna.
Isla Sorna can be considered an option for this upcoming Jurassic World sequel because only Isla nublar was the main focus for the first two Jurassic World films.

I agree with all your points to how Hollywood is filming and writing, with that said how else could you make a Jurassic movie today and compete with the original it’s just to far of a bar to reach. It’s a masterpiece. Movie had everything going for it, the time they were in, actors who cared, a director who is world renowned, they the actual writer of the book. A great company backing them. It was just a perfect time and everything was going great. There’s no way to replicate that. Now it’s all manufactured in a sense.
I just want it to be thrilling again. Going back to site B makes sense since we never saw the staff there.

If I were to try and give my two cents here, it is, imo, very likely that this will be a prequel to the World movies and a sequel to the Park movies at the same time. It's probably gonna fill in some of the gaps from that 14 year hiatus between JPIII and JW that we have, making it much more likely that we'll get to see Isla Sorna as well as Isla Nublar on screen again. If that's what this is, I'm excited!

I'd like to see a prequel about how Isla Sorna fell. It happened at around the same time as Isla Nublar in 1993, seeing a fully functional Site B and how the storm wrecked the facilities and dinosaurs getting lose. A fusion of JP1 and The Lost World, make dinosaurs scary again, Dilophosaurus, pteranodons, the wild raptors and T Rexs's and maybe some dinosaurs we haven't see before or a long time

There’s so much mystery shrouded around the facilities on the island like the worker camp in The Lost World. I know that sometimes it’s better to keep it unknown so we can interpret it with our imagination but I feel there’s so much opportunity to make an amazing film based off the lore we already have from the Jurassic Park franchise.
We don’t need any more corny, comedic and downright stupid stories where it almost feels like a Fast and Furious film.
As a lover of all things Jurassic Park, I really hope they can pull through with a prequel with that classic 90’s aesthetic that we all know and love.

Uhh. Jurassic park 1 exists, and since it's almost perfect, we don't need to try to catch lightning in a bottle again.
I'd like to imagine ingen tried to return multiple times before eventually deciding to try to relocate them to san diego.. investors would want answers and damage control so likely would send a team to assess the damage from the storm in JP1.. maybe even a chance to add in some moments from the books that never made it to the screen (Trex River chase in broad daylight)

Hey Klayton! I wanted to get your opinion on an idea if you happen to see this comment and you guys can feel free to weigh in as well.
First, what are your thoughts on the debate about the new movie taking place before or after dominion? Would you rather it be a sequel to Dominion or a prequel to Jurassic Park or TLW?
Next, what would your thoughts be on live action tv series on the Jurassic franchise similar to what Battle at Big Rock was, but in a more in depth way? My thoughts were that there would be three “parts” or seasons, all being prequels. The first season being about Hurricane Clarissa and showing us what exactly happened on Isla Sorna that led to The Lost World; the second being about the events that took place between JP3 and JW, which would show us the capturing of the dinosaurs on Sorna and being moved over to Jurassic World and even Mantah Corp Island. They may even be able to incorporate the scene with Claire and the guy from the book with the JP3 female raptor. The 3rd and final season would be what we were all expecting Dominion to be before the actual movie released, and give us an in-depth dinosaurs on the main land season and how humanity would struggle for the first year or two to adapt to dinosaurs finally being free on the mainland.
Sorry if this is a lot to read but with the “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” doing as well as it did, I figured this would be a great opportunity for the Jurassic franchise to capitalize on this idea. I’ve been sitting on the idea for a while and would like to hear your guy’s thoughts on the idea!

I feel like a prequel set on Sorna could be very interesting, especially if Maya is part of the cast. I'm not sure if there's any canon content surrounding the evacuation of workers from Sorna after the park went down, but there's a chance it wasn't pretty... and maybe it didn't happen after, but during? I could see Maya escaping from Sorna to Nublar thinking it's safe only to be tossed into the aftermath of the first movie's events. Interesting to think about.

If they are going for a prequal for either of the Park-trilogy or World-trilogy franchises - would "Jurassic Isles/Islands" be a new title for a possible prequal kind of trilogy. I want the movie and the dinosaurs to go back to the grounded feeling that the first two JP films (and sort of the the third) had. The animals in JW were basically just super villains or best friends, and the dialogue was either wooden or overly quippy. I believe there are several videos here on YT that talk about the ‘marvelization’ of many blockbuster movies these days, and I’d love to see JW 4 reverse some of that.

A Jurassic World prequel could be a potentially safe way to set up a new darker tone exhibiting dinosaurs at their most wild and ferocious, as well as going their own way as a set of "side-stories" to Dominion or indeed the whole JW trilogy. I don't think they will revisit that tone and approach knowing how much it didn't resonate.
If its not a prequel, they could be filming in Hawaii as a stand-in for any rainforest setting like Central or South America. That'd be a fine way to visit the idea of "dinosaurs out in in our world" and going for suspense over bombastic action. Among other things, while Gareth was brought on to shoot the film according to Spielberg and Koepp's prerogatives I hope he sticks arond for at least one more film and gets to make his own mark on the series.
Here are some thoughts on if they want it set now rather than in the past and use Nublar. This may be a little dark, but there were the horrible fires in Hawaii last year. If they do go back to the islands, it could be Nublar after the volcano eruption. It would be a great way to help Hawaii recover a little bit more exonomically. But it also gives the opportunity to show "life found a way" as the island begins to recover and regrow, and some of the dinosaurs maybe survived and are thriving. The real island itself is starting to come back (ecologically), and eventually Nublar would, too.
This is exactly what we need.

I'd love to see something take place in-between the JP and JW series. Maybe make something that's a more faithful adaptation of what the Lost World novel has. Basically have a Biosyn team infiltrating the island to steal DNA or experiments and a rescue/government team is sent to the same island to do their own thing. Discover something crazy having already been or being cooked up on the island. Chaos ensues.
I really hope to see Isla Sorna again! 😩😍 And I’m more hyped for the new game!!
I think Jurassic should do stand alone films like rouge one. A prequel film to maybe the first dinosaur cloned or something involving isla Sorna could be cool
I would love to see some sort of horror element in this next movie. I’ve been missing that.
