    What do we think of 6.5 and Dolby Atmos? Is this something you will be using in your workflow?

      Put it this way: I was about to buy Logic (that I hate) next week because I need Atmos for a soundtrack that I'm working on. This is an industry game changer. I predict more of the big boys like Hans Zimmer, a Cubase endorser, may just be switching sides soon enough.

      That's interesting, I didn't know that either!

    Pretty impressed that they have enabled all stock plugins for surround, I played with atomos in logic when they released it but it wasn’t possible to do simple stuff, like a limiter in your 2bus for example. Seems like presonus have done a much more thorough job on this. Worth the wait, definitely going to be having some fun with this.

      I agree. I'm still learning about Dolby Atmos, but from what I can tell, the Studio One integration seems really complete.

    Its a great addition that we video/film aspiring content creators have been waiting for, so kudos to presonus !

    It is a great addition. I played with the surround delay on a drum MIDI track and got some exciting sounds using feedback and the mix knob.

    I suppose that this sounds great for this kind of music. I'm a a 69 years young Rocker. I like the simple sound of Guitars, Bass, Drums, Keys and vocals.I think that we're losing the meaning of Rock and Roll.

      Don’t get caught up in all the hype! Let this Atmos mature and keep enjoying music in stereo in the meantime

    Great video, Ivan. Thanks.
    It looks like a cool fun way to mix. It's not clear to me how the atmos sound would sound in my truck with its front/back/right /left speakers. Ear buds would work, but for those of us who like bigger speakers pushing air, the jury is still deliberating. I like that Presonus provides the full kit for working with the sound. Well done.

      I could be wrong but I think if you have a normal speaker setup, it will play normally like before

    • @ImIvanCalderon

      I think you can. The Studio One 6 demo song was as regular Stereo mix but with the release of 6.5 they also included a binaural version.

    So you don’t need Dolby atmos to mix in surround in 6.5? Once I upgrade from 5 I will automatically have this feature?

    • @ImIvanCalderon
      @ImIvanCalderon  Рік тому +1

      From what I understand, you don't need the massive speaker setup to mix in Dolby Atmos with Studio One. I'm sure there is still a benefit to having the actual setup, so if anyone knows more, I'd love to hear from them.
      And yeah, Dolby Atmos and Surround Sound Mixing are included at no extra cost for Studio One 6 users.

    @roberteismann1929 Рік тому

    You are wrong though. In order to really hear and experience atmos you need the speaker setup. On headphones it will be binaural which is as far away from atmos as a chimp is from a human.

    Given the video improvements with version 6 recently, I think we all knew this was coming. However... I can't believe PreSonus made this a simple update and not a new purchase. It's an entirely new DAW. I'm flying over the moon. Atmos for me, was the one thing keeping me from bragging about Studio One to all my other friends who use Atmos. Between SO's, mastering suite and Atmos alone, I now believe it to be most complete and the best DAW out there. 💪

    Very good information. I have noticed a problem since the last studio one update. When i load a waves plugin the track pans slightly to the left, and it is almost impossible to center it again, even removing the waves plugin, the problem persists. i have to delete the track and reload it again. ...so now i can't use the waves plugins .... does this happen to anyone else?

      @@ImIvanCalderon Something we all been asking for, for sometime. Bruh, this makes S1, probably Top of the DAW Sphere. This literally all that was missing. Literally. S1 is close to perfect everywhere else.

      Its doable and easily done. Simply Open your old project, once in your project, Select All your Tracks in the arranger window, and go under your Channel Input (stereo), click on the drop down and VOila... choose your Kind of Output your want to get started with Surround or Atmos... and of course make sure afterwards to go in your Mixer, your Master Main out and choose Binaural as output if you're using Headphones for now to mix if you don't have a true physical speakers sets setup in Atmos yet. Hope this helps. And Yes Presonus nailed this in a stunning way that no other DAW on the market have integrated easily and efficiently Dolby Atmos period. A1

    I personally think that this Dolby Atmos thing for music won't work in the long run. It's a cool thing to have, like any other tool. But I don't think it's going to be revolutionary and it won't last.

    It’s crap Atmos is useless for music great for cinema stuff and that’s it. I don’t won’t to hear instruments moving around in space or the singer moving around it’s an awful experience and take away from what I’m listening to.

      absolutely. the industry (apple and so forth) are gaslighting us into thinking this will catch on for music. it's not audible in headphones. listeners only think it is when they watch the screen and "think" they can hear it behind or below or above them. people listen mostly on headphones on their phone nowadays (the big mistake of the industry) and the industry knows this and therefore the reason for the headphone gaslighting.
