    Thank you for being the only one to address this on youtube! I didn't know if the motor was redesigned or cfmoto was scrubbing the internet of any potential valve issues, but it sounds like they reminded the underlying issues.

      Good to hear from you sir, I believe KTM did most of the redesign on this engine... they released the redesigned engine on their 2023 790 Adventure that CFMOTO builds for them in China. CFMOTO uses the same engine they build for KTM in their Ibex 800/800mt bikes.... thanks for watching sir... :)

    Thank you sir for showing the breakdown, checking valve shim clearance & work required.
    Great to see CFmoto doing the right thing seeing KTM engines having these issues.
    I found removing the lower & upper gauges loose to allow more room than the whole unit. Loosing hold of them singularly won't fall into the engine.
    A fantastic presentation.
    Cheers

    Interesting video. Motorcycles have become rather complicated compared to the on/off road bikes I used to have back in the '70s and '80s. Back in those days I had a 1978 Yamaha DT250 and after that a '78 DT400 which was a great bike.. The two four stroke enduros I had were a 1983 Honda XL600R and after that a 1986 Yamaha XT600 and I would sure like to find something like that again used in good condition but that's very hard to do cuz dirt bikes seem to get beat up pretty bad.

    You are a life saver. I wish I lived nearby so I could have you do all this with me. My dealer just did the 6,000 service. Then, the next day, in the worstbpossible place riding the WABDR section 3, before the washout, the fuel line came off, soaking the bike and my leg with gas. I didn't have the tools to get the crash bars off. Fortunately, two locals went home for their truck and rescued me.
    I now am hating this bike from all the mcu failures, a black screen of death from updating software. Now this. I also just got a recall notice for the throttle wires.
    Pluss it seems like the engine is so rattle loud. Is yours this way too?

    • @kugangles9860
      @kugangles9860 7 днів тому

      The KTM LC8 platform has always been made in China. The only engine that's still made in Austria is the big 1290 which has always been reliable.

    • @hexadecimal1517
      @hexadecimal1517 7 днів тому

      @@kugangles9860 Manufactured yes, still designed by Austrians. CFMoto still does the engineering on the engines they make for their own line up, even if it's a licensed engine design. They likely saw the flaw on their testing and revised their 790 engine and likely informed KTM about it.
      Recent KTM issues is what happens when the corporate side is run by people who don't care about bikes.

Sadly a jump to a solution that has caused billions of dollars in damage to every aspect of the use of gasoline as a fuel...
