I’ve been attending liturgy for almost a year, my catechism began two months ago. I’ve never truly repented until now, at the moment it’s overbearing. I’ve been to therapy for combat related ptsd, but this is different. My heart is filled with joy but at the same time I feel the pain of my past, I want to push all my darkness out and make room for Christ. It feels foolish to ask, but please pray for me.
After a difficult journey I achieved my goal when I visited the Tomb of Gerontas Aimilianos and whilst I was overcome emotion that soon dissipated and was replaced by his loving energy which is very much alive. I thank God for this marvellous experience. With undying 😍 love Amen and Amen Sleep well. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
So what I'm getting is that Godly sorrow involves joyful anticipation of living for God and leaving your old ways behind, while worldly and demonic sorrow involves ONLY regret and despondency?
The Greek word harmolipi (χαρμολύπη) means "joyous sorrow". It describes the feeling of both joy and sorrow at the same time, or the joy that comes from sadness, and the sadness that comes from joy. The word is a combination of the words * Chárm(a)* ("joy") and * Lýpi* ("grieve"). stjohngoc.org/harmolipi-and-providence/
“Sorrow for God is joy” (2:39) … Then why use the word ‘sorrow’ when in fact the word is joy?? Doesn’t that just serve to cause misunderstanding?? …. 😳

I am so blessed that I only wanted to do enough to get people to leave me alone. I have few regrets, but they can be heavy.
