Who doesn't love Benjamin Orr? He was indescribably wonderful as a musician and as a human being. It is beyond heartbreaking that he had to leave us so soon. I hope when I meet him in Heaven he will count me as one of his friends. Benjamin we love you and miss you so very deeply. R.I.P. The Best Voice of the Cars the groups underrated vocalist and bassist !! Sad all that money and none of his family is taking care of his grave. Personally I wish they put a Bench there like the other they knew fans would go take it over. I wish I lived in Ohio I be there all the time ripping out weeds and planting beautiful seasonal colors. Fans always take over these sacred Resting places ! 😢😢 23yrs and not forgotten 😢 REST IN ETERNAL PEACE Ben we love you and miss you always 💞😢💔🍺
@@dancrone4200 The tombstones both state born in 1926....I would assume it was his parents (so I think your first assumption is correct). A half brother would have a similar birthdate as Ben, 1940's-ish. Looks like his father passed before him and his mom passed after Ben.
@@barbara5495. The graves beside him are his half-brother (21 years older than Benjamin) and the half-brother’s wife. NOT his parents who are actually buried in a different cemetery.

Great video. It is hard to believe that it has been 24 years. I had all the albums on cassette and I played them in my car. The Cars had an amazing sound, and Ben's voice was so unique and recognizable .
Gone from our presence but never forgotten in our memories. R.I. P. Benjamin Orr you did good while you were here yours and all of your bandmates will never be forgotten.
Touching to know Benjamins father passed a couple of years before him. Undoubtedly ben stood near his own final resting place and shed a tear. As we do for ben.
His father Charles, passed in 1971 when Ben was in his 20's. The double grave next to Benjamins would have to be that of his older half brother named Charles, and his wife, Bens sister in law. Throughout his childhood, Ben grew up not knowing he had half siblings... One being Charles whom he became close to in adulthood. I believe Ben was in his 20s when he learned he actually had 5 half siblings.
@@christineahearn4087 I read it in his biography written by Joe Miliken. It was really just a mention of facts and any deeper exploration on this was likely impossible and/or unfair since Ben's biography was written many years after his death. Although, the book wasn't intended to delve into Ben's private and personal life. But still its an interesting read. I recommend reading it if you haven't already.
The Cars in the late 70's, were "Just What We Needed"...

Made me think that maybe he ended up somewhat lonely. His mother was still alive when he passed. I know he had a son. Did he still have money,?
I stand corrected. His mother had passed. That is his half brother and wife buried beside him. I incorrectly assumed it was his parents.

Happy heavenly birthday ❤ Benjamin never forgotten 😢
oh wow, he passed young! I love "stay the night" still. My goodness gracious.
I didn't know that Ben Orr was the vocalist on those big hits. I'd always assumed it was Ric Ocasek 'cause he was the one you always saw photographed.
me too until i actually watched videos of the group, they also sounded very much alike him and ocasek
"If it was a good song, I sang it; if it was a great song, Ben sang it."
Ric Ocasek
I miss them so much.
I would like to know the story behind the couch and the remote control!!!😂😂😂😂
My favourite Cars song; makes me think of Helen.

@@gracewolf16I learned this as well and there has never been a reason for that odd fact shared publicly.

I went to see Benjamin’s grave last Sunday. My sister and I were so impressed with the “Schaffer” headstone and said we want one too! 😂
Where is the grave at?

Why is there a stratocaster on the headstone?
Benjamin estará sempre em nossos corações ❤🇧🇷, Que Deus o tenha .
Descansa en paz amigo Ben Orr...
Hey, Ben, can you spare a dime?
Es la tumba más visitada de todas en ese lugar...

Benjamin Orzechowski RIP
Cant go on thinking nothings wrong, but now whos gonna drive you home tonight?
My question is: why are quarters being placed upon his headstone? Are they Ohio quarters?
A 6-string is featured on his headstone and not a Bass? LOL!
