Thank you for providing this video. I am currently reading the book "Let's Go" and as a long time Cars fan I am chagrined to realize I didn't really know much about Benny 11 letters until I started reading the book. Through the interviews within the book I have determined that Ben was bigger than life and the fame that should have been his was just outside of his reach. No doubt Cleveland and the Northeast showered with him with much deserved love, but he should have been recognized nationally as a great singer and a great musician. Few people know how multi talented and giving Ben Orr was and if there's anyone I would have liked to just hang out with, it would have been Benny 11 letters. RIP Benny Orzechowski

@@joemilliken3438 ...one persistent thought after reading - What happened to the (last) recordings - whether His solo work or with Big People ? Will we ever hear them ? Who's in possession of them ? Regardless, now, with Ric's passing - is there a chance that an even bigger cars anthology is put together ? One can never know I suppose. Time marches on ! Thank you again for helping us all to have a glimpse into Mr. Orr's stellar career.
@@joemilliken3438 Thank you for your dedication to this book. I really enjoyed learning about Benjamin--I laughed, I cried, I got mad, I cried some more, but most of all, I learned. I learned so much about a humble, beautiful man, and learned that I screwed up in not becoming a fan of him and the Cars sooner, but I'm here now. What I have wondered, though, is why the wrong death date is on Benjamin's gravestone and why it has not been fixed. Do you know? Or do we just put it in the same category with Elvis' middle name supposedly being spelled wrong--we may never know why. Anyway, thank you again for the book.

Geez I forgot to complement the video itself. When I read about it on the blog I was hoping we'd get to see it at some point. Such great choices in photos and music, it really takes one on a little journey through his life. Definitely a top notch slideshow and well deserving of all the compliments it got by people who saw it at the event.
ETA: Also that picture that says Leatherwood on it, Benjamin was easy to spot but is dude with the hat and the long neck Ric? I thought it was John Cleese for a minute. LOL

Amazing. Oddly, his childhood school photo doesn't show the best-looking kid! Certainly not what he would grow into. I like the photo from him performing in 1964. I was born that year. It's stunning to think of how dress & music changed in abt 10 yrs!
You think? I just about fell out of my chair when I first saw "Teen Ben." If I'd gone to school with him, I certainly wouldn't have learned a thing! :D

@@benjaminorrelectricangelro5493 Warm regards back from NJ, USA! I did see a B&W school class picture of him at probably 14 or so in a tribute video. His eyes were what drew me immediately to his position in the crowd. Amazing gray with the brunette hair. Odd how he actually looked more natural as a blonde, IMHO.
@@joan-annebross9217 Ah, OK. I actually wasn't sure if you meant that picture or the teen one. I think he looks like a doll in both. When I first got the book, I sent Donna and Joe a collage/comparison of that elementary school picture to another of Ben from the Panorama era and it's remarkable how he looked so much the same. Same twinkling eyes; same mischievous smile. But yeah, his mom was definitely as terrible at cutting bangs as most of our parents were! Haha.
