I worked at Starbucks for three years so I can tell you that the frappuccinos are made with instant coffee, their "coffee base" tastes terrible, the reason it tastes good are the 3 - 5 ounces of pure corn syrup we also mix in
Thanks for the info! Would you happen to know what on Amazon I could buy to be as close to that corn syrup?
Lol that's another reason to boycott Starbucks!
So Thats why my home coffee tastes better than starbucks.
@@7H07sAndH03s they do have real drip coffee and espresso in the other drinks, it's just the frappucchinos
@@MohanABKno, but they had two syrup bases a coffee and a cream base, if you google it you'll find that it's just corn syrup and xantham gum to prevent clumping, so just buy those two separately
Then get a caramel or other flavor and splash it in (per drink, not with the base)
I was referring to the "coffee base" which is instant coffee, but they also had syrup bases which I'm referencing to here
what I love about instant coffee is you can easily make a concentrated shot of coffee, and then add the rest as milk. DELICIOUS
Yea that's why it's called instant coffee
@@bjiru08no it's called instant coffee because you just add boiling water and it immediately starts turning into a cup of coffee
@@TheDwarburton nuh uh
@@TheDwarburtonMan, I love your pp, that Xbox 360 monkey gives me back some good memories

The real trick is not to use boiling water, but just hot enough before it boils. Assuming you're using an electric kettle like we do in the UK, you turn it off just before it starts bubbling.
Or if you're in a tea drinking area, just buy yourself a kettle that has an adjustable thermostat. I got one earlier this year from Rosewill that allows me to set the temperature. I love it because my tea comes out tasting properly rather than bitter, and for times like when a recipe calls for a certain temperature, I don't have to bother mixing water until I get the right temp, or waiting for the water to cool.
Good ol' UK
yep, 80C is the temperature i usually go with
I do this with tea. It is amazing
Personally I have to disagree, or at least, I can't tell the difference, despite what Nescafe say. Instant coffee has already been brewed, you're just adding the water that was removed before packaging it; it's not the same as burning coffee beans or ground coffee. Either way the result is the same other than the temperature of the cup.
I was mindblown at how something so simple as to dissolve the coffee on room temperature water first makes a difference. Thank you for making the video
Wow okay will try this tomorrow morning!
how to make your instant coffee better:
1-)put more coffee per water
2-)first put cold water so you don't burn the coffee(literally on most of the packages it says use 80-85 degree water)
Cafe Bustelo is my absolute favvvv instant coffee with a teaspoon of hot cocoa and some vanilla extract yummm
Omg, thank you so much for this! Please do a book on all of your fav coffee recipes! It would def be a best seller!👍❤️🩷🫶
Super excited to try these!
The last one is like a riff on a Greek coffee frappe (also made with instant coffee), which as the name gives away, is probably the most popular way to drink coffee in Greece
greek frappe is the best way to drink instant coffee
It’s so hilarious to see the world discover frappe in 2023 and call it whipped coffee😂😂 every summer in Greece for damn near 20 years ive been drinking this coffee and some kid with a hand mixer thinks he made a grand discovery
What does the name give away? By the way frappé sounds French for some reason.
I prefer UCC 114 or 117 instant coffee. Neither are bitter, but it’s hard to find if you’re not near a Japanese or Asian grocer.
Thanks for the Video! I recently became a student in college so I had to give up normal coffee for the moment, this helps a lot!
I'd love more videos like this discussing how to make instant coffee drinks!
Much needed video thanks
This is so helpful, thank you! This sounds silly but I don’t actually love coffee and that makes me *more* interested in finding good coffee drink recipes. There are a couple of frappes from different cafes that I like, with just a slight hint of coffee flavor that I enjoy, and I’ve been desperately trying to recreate the joy of drinking those at home. P.S. you should make a video of coffee drink recipes for people who don’t like coffee! Lolz.
I love coffee, but I would watch a video of coffee drinks for those who don't like coffee.
@@phquaryn coffee drinks and coffee is two different things?
I love my Nescafé instant drink it every day for years. Love it. I put the dry coffee in my cold cream and stir it while my waters heating.
Love the videos bro keep it up
This is awesome, thanks!!
i learned so much thank u!!
Yes super awesome . Now i know how to make cappuccino using instant coffee 😍. Thanks so much
Depends on the brand, I use Korean Maxim Gold, perfect every time, but as you pointed out, you have to use the correct amount of water per cup.
You need to have a coffee lovers book I would buy it.
I use cafe bustelo for “faux espresso” drinks. It has a unique flavor and makes nice lattes when I don’t have time to whip up the real stuff
Juan Valdez is the best!
Oh woaw, the last one😍must try. Thank you
great video! Also, that glass tumbler is gorgeous!!
This is brilliant! Thanks for the tip about dissolving the coffee using room temperature water, makes a lot of difference. Going to try the third recipe, look delicious. Keep up the great videos 😇
Hi, I been a subscriber for a long time could you make a video for like how to make good tasting coffee without that many machines or something like that like with simple ingredients.
Really liking the recent video content ☕️👌🔥
Thank you so much for this. A real gift!
Hello, great video! Also, where could I find the cup at 3:24?
These look awesome, def trying all 3 recipes!!! 🎉
Where did you get the glass frapucino type glass?
I bought a jar after many years in order to make a coffee whip. In the past, even Italian imported espresso powders tasted terrible but I'll give it one more try.
You are a life saver!! Thank you!
This video is so unique about instant coffee. I got into fresh coffee grounds after realizing I couldn't have instant anymore...
But it's nice to see a more intricate video on instant coffee usage.
That glass dome cup is super cool, btw.
What do you mean by fresh coffee grounds? Why couldn't you have instant anymore?
@sowhat... it was a health issue with my brain; headaches and dizziness. I think I had a stroke. I looked into it after drinking instant coffee and I guess there were certain chemicals from the crystallization process that effected my brain. I thought it was caffeine but one day, I forgot I couldn't have coffee and bought Starbucks. Later on, I remembered and wondered why I didn't have headaches from it. They use fresh coffee grounds and I realized the headaches came from a homemade cuppa from instant coffee.
Since then, I was only buying at Starbucks and eventually bought my own coffee makers and coffee grounds.
Luckily, I've healed in time for the dalgona coffee trend. 😀😄
how can coffee be burnt with boiling water if it was roasted at 200-230° celcius (not sure on f but more than 420)
You are right regarding the fact that you don’t literally burn the coffee with boiling water. However, the effect in taste often is reminiscent of “burnt” flavors. It’s a common phrase in coffee brewing
Amo con todo mi corazón Juan Valdez❤
Another tip, get the crystals smaller. I will either put mine into my blender cup and pulverize it into oblivion or into a small baggie and roll a rolling pin over it until it is powdery. Making it finer helps it dissolve faster and smoother.
Try Moccona No 8. probably the best instant coffee on the market.
Cafe Bustelo and G7 (Vietnamese) are the best instant coffees I've ever tried. I even like them better than most brewed coffees.
Thanks for this! I drink a lot of instant coffee but i still like to have fun woth eecipes
Juan Valdez is a staple i keep stock ❤❤
You must be loaded, that shit is expensive for a tiny jar.
Juan is available at Walmart too! Lowest price I’ve found.
The trick to make better instant coffee is to use room temp water first then top off with the hot water...
Proceeds to poor the hot water/milk directly over the instant coffee and not follow his own tip.
He did say to follow the tip if your instant coffee taste bitter .
So maybe the coffee ge is using in the video doesn't have that bitterness so it will just be a useless step for him .
@@Bhavesh099. maybe but it may still be more clear and not confusing to make the visual match the verbal.
Omg you are a lifesaver thankyouuuuuu
This just changed my life and I was able to make myself a great cup of coffee using the instant coffee I bought in hopes I could make it decently.
We Indians drink instant coffee every day I think in India instant coffee is the common and this espresso drink and other we rely make it home and we use normal milk it’s simple this is how most of make we buffalo or cow milk we heat it till we feel it good then we take instant coffee packets which is ₹2,₹10,yes most of don’t buy that big boxes here we put that powder into a steel glass add some sugar and then some hot milk then we whisk it by pouring coffee into other glass and repeat until we nice Brue that’s all coffee is ready
I use Nescafe Rich, but I like cream and sweetener/sugar, which is lovely. Super hot water is needed so it foams and leaves a cremea.
My fav way of using instant coffee is dalgona or whipped coffee, always enjoyed it and is a lovely application for instant coffee.
I remember when I was dumb and thought I could make whipped coffee with freshly ground coffee… lol instant coffee is what makes it. I should try these methods, thanks man :)
Where did you get that clear/acrylic latte cup with lid/straw and does it come with a handle? By the way, great coffee ideas to try. I only drink instant coffee (Greek frappe) with ice. The coffee brand names you recommended are a bit pricy for only 3 oz, but I'll look to try it. Nescafe french roast is my current choice that I love. And that's not cheap either.
I made the first cappuccino coffee and it is so good!
It's not hard to make iced coffee with instant coffee. Ive done it for years. It's good. But I only drink it occasionally during the summer. That's the only time I use instant as well. I use a stove top percolator to make the best tasting coffee. Comes out great 100% of the time.
Another way to enhance the flavour is by using evaporated milk (unsweetened), or for a Vietnamese style, sweetened condensed milk.
I also love blending my coffee with a drop of either lemon or bergamot essential oil, it's simply cold pressed peels. It's great either hot or cold or as thick as a milkshake with xanthan gum (I use the edge of a spoon's handle, a little goes a long way). The cold versions work well with a small pinch of salt.
And if your coffee is too acidic, you can add a VERY small pinch of baking soda, like just a millimetre or 2 of the edge of the spoon.
Nescafe tasters is very good. Especially for making drinks. It tastes better than a lot of drip coffees.
Tasters Choice is the best instant coffee, imho.
Try Africafe it is so delicious! ad instead of granulated sugar.. I make simple syrup .. 2 kinds.. 1 with regular white and another made from sugar in the raw :-)
I made that middle one last week without knowing it was a legit method lol. I was experimenting with my instant coffee and went “hmmm I wonder what would happen if I dissolved the coffee crystals with a little bit of hot water, then added the milk and topped it off with the rest of the hot water. It did actually taste better than normal, needed more milk tho so I’ll add it next time
Ok but where do you get the cup with the glass frappuccino lid?!
This channel makes me want to learn how to make proper coffee!
Thank you so muchh now i can drink perfect coffen in my office 🥰🥰😇😇😇
I put the granules in cold water and let it sit without stirring while the water heats up. I'd does make a difference that is noticeable.
There is something beautiful about a plain cup of black coffee I can't describe it
All your cups are so cool
Where did you get the cup at 3:24??? I need to add this to our glassware
Thanks, it helped me realize that I was doin it wrong. For a moment I thought the milk was spoiled but I just burnt the coffee.
Thank you!!
I made a Latte that tastes the best ever, thank you!
Thank you!
For anyone who does the shake method DO NOT SHAKE WITH BOILING OR HOT WATER. The metal shaker will expand with the heat and explode. Just an fyi :)
Omg thanks for this, a certified dummy like me would've probably overlooked this! 🙏 😅
Your Indian capuccino was so gooood! Tried it with a south Indian filter coffee and oh my god.
For the Frappuccino type drink, do I have to add sugar? Or can I just use the syrup? Or does adding sugar help with consistency? I just don’t want it too too sweet 🧐
I'll give you an easier and better tasting method:
Put the required amount of instant coffee and sugar if you take it, (although it's really not required as the milk will give sufficient sweetness) into a microwavable mug. Top up to half of the mug with milk (preferably whole milk). Put some water on the boil, that will be used to top up. Stir coffee/milk and microwave for 30 seconds on full power. Take out and stir and microwave again for another 30 seconds. Take out and stir again to be microwaved for the last time for another 30 seconds or until nice and foamy on top. Finally top up with water that you've boiled a couple of minutes prior. Stir well and enjoy.
wow-thank you
Great recipe but is there anything that would taste not bitter but without sugar?
THNX
Was that a glass rounded lid?? If so, where did you get it?
I've been using his tip about dissolving the coffee first in cold water and it makes The difference for me! I use Trader Joe's Instant Coffee and always add a small pinch of salt.
Tasters Choice. 5 fluid ounces of hot, not boiling, water per teaspoon.
where did you get that glass starbucks frappe cup? so cute?
Thank you
where do you get that cappuccino cup?
Hey! We have the same microwave! Nice.
Simplicity......2 TBlsp cold cream or 1/2 &1/2 / add instant coffee of your desired ammount/strength/add 1/4C Boiling water....WHISK with a battery powered froth whisk building a light foam (personnally I dont over do it...or untill your hearts content)....add more hot water to I'll cup with a light spoon stir. NOW ITS WELL MIXED/and the flavor comparison to a simple spoon of coffee and boiling water stirred is night and day, so ENJOY. Fast simple, very good....
I highly recommend : Ah Huat Malaysia White Coffee.
I am from India I happy to see that India style Capuchino is popular in foreign.😍😍 and also learn diff. type coffee from yout content.
Recommend COAVA COFFEE ROASTERS for your consideration. I got the S.O. Blend. A coffee with "rich notes of honeycrisp apple, dark caramel, and chocolate covered fruits." I drink it hot with agave syrup. It is a medium-dark roast, so adding milk should be good too. Such a smooth coffee!
Tried Blue Bottle instant, but I preferred Coava instant over Blue Bottle's instant coffee.
Blue bottles instant espresso is FIREEEEEEEEEE
I need that dome cup, where did you get it pls
I wonder if I can get similar results with the Nescafe available in India. I gotta try this.😊
Where did you get the glass cup with top and straw ?
@Ethan, what coffee creamer do you usually use in your coffee?
Instant coffee reminds me of camping. I'm worried that if I follow your instructions and make it taste better it will ruin camping coffee. Maybe I can have both. Great video. Sub'd.
Where did you get the neon sign? And can it change color?
What scale is that?? Please tell me! 🥺
I can make too many recipes with instant coffee more than you mentioned.
I'm italian and I love instant Caffe Crastan, I add a couple of spoons to cold soy milk, stir with a milk foamer from Ikea and heat in the microwave.
A cup of liquid… stock, juice, water is 8oz. You don’t say a cup for coffee is 6oz. Just say… “use 6oz of water… not a cup.”
Can you do ones without suger?
What frother did you use?
Do you prefer Jacobs instant coffee?
I laeik coffee sar naeis resipi
Adam Ragusea has a great tip to reduce bitterness: ADD SALT
