This was by far the best shoulder external video I’ve seen yet, and I’ve been looking and searching for months! Easy effective stretches I’ve never seen. And the day to day household activities suggestions was EXCELLENT!! Like the combing the back of your head. When I shave my head it’s tough sometimes for my to reach in back with my shoulder. So I did a stretch like that to see if I would work. By stopped because I’ve never heard of anyone suggesting that, so I thought I would make my shoulder worst. But now thanks to you, that’s my on the go anywheres highly effective shoulder stretch. Thanks Doc!💯💯💯
Thank you so much for the kind words! I'm really glad you're finding it helpful! I'm an occupational therapist so I like to keep things as functional as I can with my recommendations (using everyday activities vs. exercise alone). Keep me posted on how things are going 🙂
super helpful videos i suffered a stroke on may 15, i'm from puerto rico and i workout with your videos.thank you so much, im still recovering very fast with your help.........THANKSsssssssss
Hello Madam, You always suggest the BEST exercises which require completely household stuff, very chip and economical. Thank you for all the help! And keep it UP!
I played football 3 months ago and typically dont throw, but I did that day, and I was trying to throw my hardest and farthest. My should has been killing me ever since. Havnt been able to push anything heavy in the gym, uncomfortable sleep etc. Ive been looking for exercises and these are the only ones that seem to help and work. And a lot of them are pain relieving immediately. Thank you
Is external rotation my issue if my elbow keeps flaring out when i try to carry something like a box? I have a hard time tucking my elbow into my side.
@salvOh, That's a possibility. If you're having trouble keeping your elbow tucked in at your side, your external rotators may be weak. I couldn't say for sure without actually treating you. If you have questions, I recommend reaching out to your treating physician or therapist!
I have a permanent bend in my left arm at the elbow so that my arm cannot extend straight, which means my left (affected)arm is always shorter and weaker than my right(unaffected)arm when extended, making MY LEFT ARM REACH , NOT FULL straight possible. My elbow seems locked/frozen. The hand rotates well at the wrist, but not at the elbow! Are there any exercises that can help? Can you identify the problem? Please help me. Thanks.
@marthamcnish, I can't say for sure because I haven't evaluated you, but it sounds like you may potentially have a contracture (shortening of tendons) or at least significant tightness of the muscles that cross your elbow. I would recommend talking to your doctor, neurologist, or treating therapist about it!
I'm post stroke 9 months(left side affected due to brain hemmorhage)but i don't have voluntary movement in my fingers yet suggest me some exercise for regaining finger movements.
Even I have foot drop and hand drop with much stiffness. I'm young 31 year old boy , I had did few wrong weighted exercises in first 2nd year so I think that's was my mistake? Please guide me 🥺
Hi there! I’m so sorry to hear about your stroke but hope you’ve seen a little progress over the past 4 years. My philosophy on Stroke recovery based on both research and anecdotal evidence is that progress is still possible even years after a stroke. This doesn’t necessarily mean a 100% return to function but it can mean incremental (both large and small) improvements!
@@PostStrokeOrg thank you for your reply, I like your clear way of teaching us , I'm thinking to make a video of stroke recovery I'm a patient and I will do your exercises and tell here in Pakistan in our language to people On TikTok too
@mohammadshahnawaz, Check out this video I made on recovery after a year: ua-cam.com/video/PUfW-CySHas/v-deo.html You may find some of the comments on that video helpful, too.
@mohammadshahnawaz, Yes! Stroke recovery can absolutely continue after one year! I actually made a video about this exact topic you may find helpful: ua-cam.com/video/PUfW-CySHas/v-deo.html 😊
Is there anything I can do for the tightness in my affected leg. That usually happens after I’m done exercising. I use my muscle stimulator but it’s not helping anymore with the tension especially after exercising
@hemasookram, If you're not already going through a stretching routine after your exercises, I'd recommend that. This may help to relax your muscles a bit.
4 months into my recovery after a second stroke, which has affected my left side this time, I find your exercises most helpful. Thank you so much.
I'm 7 months into my recovery after suffering a brain bleed and find your exercises most helpful. Thank you
