Thank you Dr. Tobias I'm following this series on shoulder rehab very closely. I actually met my new physical therapist today. I'm Extremely excited to work with her along with supplementing my rehab program with exercises from your videos it's gonna be great getting so much input on putting together a new improved recovery program..... I'm feeling more optimistic than usual about my future.

Thank you again. You always amaze me! I am still having a little trouble raising my left arm/shoulder. Sometimes even when I raise my arm just to scratch my nose, I realize it feels heavy and/or lazy and know that I really need to work on this. I guess I have put this issue on the back burner working more on my gait and speech. So, thank you for this video. I plan on implement ING this with my daily regimen. Have a great week.

Hi Teresa! I am so glad you found this one helpful. I know that your time and effort is paying on as far as your walking and speech :) Glad to know you aren't forgetting about that shoulder 😉 Btw, a "heavy arm" is a pretty common sensation. As I say in the video, it is always best to start lying down to build your confidence! Have a great week!

Thanks Dr. Tara. I am doing all these methods for my 12 yr old son and getting a lot of positive results. The only thing I am not being able to get proper result is the supination of his hand. BTW his left hand and leg had stopped working completely after a subdural hematoma when he was 5 months old. I am following you since last couple of years and getting so much positive results and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for that.

@@rehabhqofficial I’m not the original one to ask the question (Teresa Collins Porterfield was), However, I think I kind of understand her question; I am left side paralyzed from my stroke; and just very light touch on my left arm is actually painful. Its like what used to feel simple and light ,registering as pain in my brain. It’s been really crazy trying to make sense of that. Most light touches on my left side hurt;as if my brain doesn’t know what to do with the sense of touch.Do you feel any strange pain like that Teresa? God bless you both;Teresa and Tara! By the way; I am currently unable to move my left arm whatsoever.

@@rehabhqofficial Yes, thank you. It is only my right hand only. And really just the fingers. I can feel hot and cold. I have to be able to see something like a bottle top or a pen in order to pick it up. If my eyes were closed, I would not be able to grasp it because I would not feel it good enough in order to know how far to open my hand. As long as I can see it.. I can grab it. This is so hard to explain. With my left hand (good hand) I can tell with my eyes closed that it's a bottle top, brush, pen or anything. It sucks because I am right handed. I know I have to use it or loose it. Just Any ideas or if there are others that have this problem maybe you could do a video at your convenience. ThAnks again!

In my experience, the key thing is to isolate the movements of the extremities when exercising, the thumb should be spread with the hand. The brain does not know how to do it on its own, and that is how the problems that you described nicely arise. Thank you for that, I’m looking forward to the new video. Have a nice day

Basal ganglia stroke right side. Can pull back and push forward with arm. Can't raise the elbow above my head. Abduction not quite to gettimg elbow parallel to floor. No pain. Do TENS, elastics, acupuncture. Some subluxation. Considering sitting and learning left and trying "side pushup". Any suggestions will be tried. Will try more activation. Try to turn on and off lights, But, getting that last little movement makes my lower back muscles cramp up.
