    I thought I had a frozen shoulder.I went to the doctor who sent me to a physical therapist . That said it was calcium buildup from not moving it. He gave me a big hug with my arms across my chest, that broke the calcium, and I never had anymore pain and my shoulder was free to move. I now continue to move around stretch it daily

      @@PostStrokeOrg I'm not terrible. I have fears of another stroke, but my doctor says that hat on my current medicine I shouldn't worry about another one. im waiting for my hand to return to strength and motion and also waiting for a physical or occupational therapist. I do carry things🧈with my left hand but sometimes I can't because I'm using a cane. My right leg(affected side has gotten better but I'm dealing with osteoarthritis in the left side so it'll be a while before I'm able to comfortably take a long walk. I'm hoping to get a hip replacement in a year. It's important to get some of my life back. Thanks for asking.

    Five days ago my shoulder "froze" for the first time. I'm in my 6th month after the stroke. I was hurting intensely and thought of your exercises, so I looked for a "frozen shoulder." So glad I did! Last night was the first time I tried the exercises, and today I noticed a lot of my shoulder and upper arm pain was gone! Wow---I was amazed that I would see improvement so fast! So I came back this evening and went through the exercises again. How often should I do these each day---once or twice? I don't want to to hurt myself by "over doing it!" I am so very grateful for your videos!!!

    Good morning, Precious. Curious.... my dad was recently admitted to a nursing facility ( just for a little extra level of care he couldn't receive in indie living ), and one of the therapists recommended botox for his arm that has been curled for years. I'm curious to know your thoughts, if you're familiar with the treatment, if you've heard of it working on advanced cases, or not working, etc.

    • @PostStrokeOrg
      @PostStrokeOrg  2 роки тому +1

      @kodiakwild, really good question. I'm definitely familiar with Botox and have seen it work pretty well for a lot of people. It's definitely not a long-term fix. Injections are typically done every 3-4 months to maintain the effects. Does your dad have a neurologist or physician that sees him at the facility? That would be the best place to start a conversation. ❤️ I hope you both are doing well.

    If the affected arm doesn't move on its own for the pendulums, do we use our unaffected hand to help move it?

    • @PostStrokeOrg
      @PostStrokeOrg  2 роки тому +1

      @carrieA, great question! See if you can use the momentum of your body to help move your arm. If that doesn't work, you can use your unaffected hand to help move it 😊
