I always thought this song of theirs got less recognition than it should have, the part at 2:20 is so great! Your paying is flawless, you do Nick justice completely.
this is one of my favorite dimmu records. the songs are so memorable it's a perfect balance of brutality and melody. the orchestra also does a great job of holding it all together with theatrical atmosphere.
From the way he plays and the distance of the beater from the kick drum you know this guy is capable of delivering an organic kick sound with clear definition at that speed if its necessary. He really put effort on his practices.
15 years ago I was here on UA-cam watching you playing Progenies of The Great Apocalypse while wondering when the hell would you drop more content from that brilliant album... So here we are. Very proud of you and of your journey, man! I absolutely understand how special this upload is for you, as I said, I was here 15 years ago... \,,/
I wonder why this guy had not been called by some important band after his work with Decapitated. Krimh, you deserve an historical, important band to play with!!
I was 14 when this album came out and at that time it was the most badass stuff I had ever heard. I remember playing the song on repeat because the ending with the cymbal chokes is just hilarious and epic at the same time. Thanks for reminding me how great this album really was, and as always, you did a killer job with the drumming
Nick Barker, Ray Herrera and Mike Portnoy made me want to learn to play drums. So influential. This cover was flawless.. as usual for you Krimh. Thank you for such strong content.
I love this album, first Dimmu Borgir (and also the first extreme metal) album that I listened, High School memories when I listen to it . Killer playing as always Krimh
Congrats. Amazing on every level...both the cover and the original part constructed by Nick Barker. As s huge Rush fan, the biggest compliment that I can give Barker is that this part is beautifully and perfectly crafted for the composition, not to show off, in the same way Peart created his drum parts for Rush. Pure excellence!
I really admire the way you mixed your drums in here. It is seamless, yet, somehow, punchy! Specifically, that hi hat mix is creating this mid level chomp that I find INCREDIBLY pleasing. The entire cover and mix RULES, but man. Thank for posting this playthrough! I don't know if I've ever sat down and consumed this specific Dimmu song before either!
Barker is the man! This is one of my favorites to jam out to on my kit. Dimmu messed up big letting ICS Vortex go. Anyway, great performance, Krimh, you the man too!!!
Talented drummer. Thanks for covering this song it certainly brings back many memories of listening to dimmu borgir full blast in my car many years ago on long trips.. I enjoyed watching this video well done.

And Mustis, who was actually the main songwriter after EDT. You can notice how the riffs are worked around the string arrangements.
Yeah, the choir and backing track are so lame. It is so hard for them to get a session singer for records and live shows ? Many othe rbands do that.
