On your drumeo session, you talked about how drumming helps you to deal with mental problems. For me, as a person who experienced many of these things as well, it was super motivating to hear these honest statements from One of my drum heros. After staying away from drumming for about 10 years, i recently find my way back to the drumkit - and i can confirm that it is soothing! I did a cover of "The Serpentine Offering" as well, its the very first drum cover i ever finished and it was sooo hard for me after 10 years of no drumming. But it also felt very healing. Watching you now, surprisingly performing just this song makes me speechless! You are an awesome musician and personality Alex! Greetings from germany! ; )
This is an excellent comment man. I played drums from when I was 11 right up until I was about early twenties regularly. The onset of mental shit came after that now that I think about it. I can't drum atm due to living in an apartment and my kit is in my folks, but i've noticed kickboxing has definitely helped me! But I'm going to look into getting an electric kit or just moving to a place where I can soundproof and have a kit / get back into a metal band. Thanks for this comment though it puts it into perspective
Exactly bro, unfortunately it took me a while to realize the true meaning of these feelings that playing the drums gives me. Thanks for your advice, I will do so!
The man is nailing those triplet 32nds or whatever accent rolls they were btwn the ride and the hihat bell and Im looking for an nonexistent bell or left side ride he has set up. Solid as always Alex, I can just put that on a rubber stamp
Thank you, dude (on all fronts)!!!!! Yeah, man --- BIG love to DECLAN WHITE --- I furreal love what he's able to pull out of the drums that I track here at home. His mixes RULE !
Mr Alex, I have been a subscriber to your channel for a couple of months now and I have to say no only is your drumming top notch but your speed and hand control are simply amazing. You are one of my favorite drummers to watch, Jay Weinberg is the other. Keep rocking my friend!!
This has to be one of the greatest blends of a triggered and mic'd bass drum I have ever heard. Those 16 note runs cut so well but sounded so realistic and warm
thanks! I try to keep it as natural as I can. the sample is like 16db quieter than the real kick, and you can honestly barely tell the difference when it's muted
Dude I was so stoked to see you were doing a Dimmu Borgir cover. It's fun going back and listening to this stuff. I hope you get a chance to tour with them!
What's so strange is I was just listening to Dimmu and specifically went back and listened to the drums since I've been playing a lot recently. great cover!
Broooooooo so good to see this ! I listened to this song so much when I was younger and your sick drumming and sick fills made it even better ! Love the handagram by the way :')
I so look forward to your uploads, such epic skills, tight and precise. The open hand section on the HH at 1.39 then into the half time pattern - nice. Never disappoints, always motivates and leaves me inspired. Keep it up.
Please still conside any track from Puritanical, especially the first one. There is no doubt you will nail it, it's just so much challenging than any other Dimmu Borgir drum work. Thanks for all these years of gold content.
Would've been interesting to see The Chosen Legacy covered. Hellhammer is such a beast of a drummer, and that kick sequence around 3 minutes into that song is ridiculous (it's like the first verse from Serpentine, but on steroids).
Thank you so much Alex (if you read this) for introducing me to a band I’ve heard of, but never listened too 🤘🏼This song was amazing… oh you’re drumming was great too 👊🏼😅
Awesome! I'm pretty sure the reason this song has stems is because it was featured as RB DLC back in RBN day, so all those had to have stems in order to appear on the game. Wouldn't be surprised if many of the songs this Patreon guy has are ones featured in rhythm games. Great stuff!
Hell yeah. One of my favorite drummers playing to one of my favorite bands. With vocals too which was nice. PEM was my first Dimmu album and my go to but Diaboli is amazing too.
Yoo just got back into Dimmu last week, this is so sick to see haha! Been checking out all these old school gigs and drum cams of them. Would be so crazy to see you play with them. Would sound huge, mixing your style with black metal.
I really liked this album, and it was the last time I heard Nicholas with the band, this cover was awesome and so clean, made me feel a little nostalgic too ☺️
What at insane song! And you play i so tight! I also love the natural sound of the drums, as well as the bassdrum, waay better than that blown up trigger sound that's trending nowadays.
Maybe, but Hellhammer is just fucking ON here. You cannot create a better or more perfect drum part for this tune. Super impressed at the skill of Hellhammer and Alex!
Alex playing Dimmu YESSS!!!
Ohh yerrrrrrrrrrr
COLLAB VIDEO NOW!
Ohh yurrrr🤘
First recommended video is you playing Dimmu. Nostradamus level of mind penetration. Ohhhh yuuuurrr.
I was also mindblowed. Oh and also.. Ohh YYYyyuuUUrrRRrrRR
A man of culture. Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia is definitely Dimmu's best record
this song is from in sorte diaboli.
@@bucknasty5374 in the video caption it says he would have rather covered something from Misanthropia
@@twobirdsstonedatonce ah, yes, I see it now :) thanks!
Yeeeeesss son! That album from start to finish has it all
But if we're actually being real, Abrahadabra was peak Dimmu...
Fuck yeah dude! I don't listen to Dimmu a lot anymore nowadays, but that album was highly influential on my journey into extreme music. You killed it!

Go for it man! I think you defenetly need some drumtherapy!
Drumming, for me, is that place where you lose yourself and find yourself 🤘
I didn't have any mental health issues when I drummed in the marching band I need to get a kit and start drumming away
I absolutely LOVE Dimmu!!! They've been consistently one of my favorite bands since I was like 10 lol, I'm 28 now. Excellent cover brother!
For some reason I didn't expect to see you covering Dimmu, but I'm very glad you did it!!!
The man is nailing those triplet 32nds or whatever accent rolls they were btwn the ride and the hihat bell and Im looking for an nonexistent bell or left side ride he has set up. Solid as always Alex, I can just put that on a rubber stamp
You know what song we wanna see next bro .... that crazy fast section in Sorte Diaboli
Absolute beast mode. Alex, your playing on the Intronaut is otherworldly. So beasty, tasty, and innovative/intricate. Legend.
Ive been waitting for you to cover DIMMU forever!!!!! FKN awesome so perfect
Wow, obviously the performance is absolutely top notch, but let’s also give the drum choice/tones/tuning a shout out too. They sound immaculate!
That mix is incredible!!!
that snare has quite the satisfying pop to it and i love the toms how open they sound
Every video is on point
Never expect less than this from Alex.
Thank you, dude (on all fronts)!!!!! Yeah, man --- BIG love to DECLAN WHITE --- I furreal love what he's able to pull out of the drums that I track here at home. His mixes RULE !
omfg wow dude, when those bass kicks get faster when the vocals begin... wow!!
first dimmu song I ever heard.. was an instant fan!
Mr Alex, I have been a subscriber to your channel for a couple of months now and I have to say no only is your drumming top notch but your speed and hand control are simply amazing. You are one of my favorite drummers to watch, Jay Weinberg is the other. Keep rocking my friend!!
Fuck yes, killer performance! You're the man!! This era borgir hits me right in the nostalgia
As all other widows from the 2000s Diimu Borgir say, they went to shit after Vortex and Mustis left. In Sort Diaboli is the last good one.
This? Nostalgia? :) Whatever ...each with it's own :D For me nostalgia is Enthrone Darkness...
Dude thank you !!! I agree --- I love how Declan mixes the kick for this kinda music!
All the words and praises have been said by everyone, outstanding perfomance my friend
My dude woke up and chose violence, I mean that power on the kicks, damn.
Ahh takes me back to fun time back in the day. The intro was so sick. Great cover.
Dude I was so stoked to see you were doing a Dimmu Borgir cover. It's fun going back and listening to this stuff. I hope you get a chance to tour with them!

The first song I ever heard by them!!! Thank you for doing it justice!!!! 17 year old me and 28 year old me are stoked right now!!!
THE KING RETURNS TO US!!!
What a great performance!!!
This is by far my favorite cover by Alex. He is such an amazing drummer in everything he plays but this one is my favorite. Keep rocking my friend!!
Hell yeah, nicely done man! 🤘🏻. A joy to watch.
This is by far my favorite Alex cover. Awesome job buddy and keep rocking!
Didn't expected that one! So good stuff from Dimmu!
This was amazing, dimmu borgir material with your play is awesome!
I miss dimmu with vortex. Good job Alex lol
I miss guitars in Dimmu, period. All focused on the orchestral stuff and shit. Galder is such a badass riff writer.
@@demonshinji hell yeah dude, I started listening to OMC more after like '05. Under recognized guitarist fs
Just goes to show what an incredible work Hellhammer did in this album! Alex you're
a monster!
I so look forward to your uploads, such epic skills, tight and precise. The open hand section on the HH at 1.39 then into the half time pattern - nice.

What a surprise!! Thank you very much Alex for this amazing Dimmu song....one of my favorites too! Excellent cover!!
Amazing song, I remember blasting this album 10 years ago. I don't think I took measure of the godly songwriting back then
Dude you're unbelievable. I keep sending your vids to all my buddies haha
Oof, solid drumming. This era Dimmu Borgir is by far my favourite, never get tired of these songs. Nice job!
Super impressive! This was basically note for note! Loved it, subbed!
Dude, I feel that was a DEEP BURN. Outstanding
Being able to emulate Hellhamer's style of play, that's awesome bro...🖤🖤🖤Horns up for you 🤘🤘🤘🤘
New Alex Rudiger VID, yeah baby!!! My fav drum UA-camr!!!!
Incredible as usual. Lotta souvenirs in that awesome master piece. Good job bruh... Amazed as usual

Go listen to their song progenies of the great apocalypse, its sick
@James B I came to say the same, heartily agree
@James B petition for Alex to cover Blessing upon the Throne of Tyranny
one of my fav Dimmu songs!!! Glad you did it!!!
That was absolutely insane. I lost my shit at 3:40. Such skill dude.
Another top notch mix! Wow!!
Such an underrated Dimmu album so it’s even SICKER you covered this. Sweeeeeet.
oh...my...GOD!....I've known you since
Whitechapple covers (covering from then). But I'm officially a subscriber now! If you got a Patreon, tell me!
That snare tone cuts to the bone!!! I want one.🤩
Please still conside any track from Puritanical, especially the first one. There is no doubt you will nail it, it's just so much challenging than any other Dimmu Borgir drum work. Thanks for all these years of gold content.
Awesome work, brilliant cover! Huge respect!
You had me with the dance at the end, that is a groovy song.
Made my day, your drumming and hearing Vortex clean voice again 🤘
This song is so well-written and super melodic! Loved it!
Congrats! What an amazing sound your kit, especially the snare!
It's always a pleasure to see him play with the kit set up to the millimeter and this is a brutal track!
Killing it rudi 🤘🏻 awesome as always
Alex’s drums and Vortex’s voice together is fantastic.
I saw Vortex with Arcturus 3 years ago, what a beautiful show.
This song is one of my favourite metal songs ever.. incredibly underrated 🤘
Would've been interesting to see The Chosen Legacy covered. Hellhammer is such a beast of a drummer, and that kick sequence around 3 minutes into that song is ridiculous (it's like the first verse from Serpentine, but on steroids).
Nice. Absolutely love that snare sound.
My legs are burning just watching great work bro.
Masterful - what an inspiration! (as usual...)!
Your drumming skills never stop to amaze me
Thank you so much Alex (if you read this) for introducing me to a band I’ve heard of, but never listened too 🤘🏼This song was amazing… oh you’re drumming was great too 👊🏼😅
Aye no problem, dude !!! Hek yeah --- check out some more Dimmu ! & thank you for the kind words!
As Always, just clean ans perfectly executed.
Next time, kings of the Carnival creation !
In Sorte Diaboli was such an incredible album. With Hellhammer on drums🔥🔥
Awesome! I'm pretty sure the reason this song has stems is because it was featured as RB DLC back in RBN day, so all those had to have stems in order to appear on the game. Wouldn't be surprised if many of the songs this Patreon guy has are ones featured in rhythm games. Great stuff!
Hahahaha, this may or may not be the case --- ! 😉
I am so glad you feel the power of the drumming from this song and got some stems.
Omgomgomgomg one of my favorite songs of all time
one of my all time favorite albums, you killed this track as usual!
Brilliant as always!
Hahah, I can so relate to that ending!! Basicly me everytime I nail a studio session with no errors.
Hell yeah. One of my favorite drummers playing to one of my favorite bands. With vocals too which was nice. PEM was my first Dimmu album and my go to but Diaboli is amazing too.
Dude....this is perfect. Very well done. 🔥😎🔥
Classic track.
Well done, as always.
Was going to ask what snare that was so thanks for such a detailed vid description! Sounds huge!
that little dance at the end....luv ya
Yoo just got back into Dimmu last week, this is so sick to see haha! Been checking out all these old school gigs and drum cams of them. Would be so crazy to see you play with them. Would sound huge, mixing your style with black metal.
I really liked this album, and it was the last time I heard Nicholas with the band, this cover was awesome and so clean, made me feel a little nostalgic too ☺️
So sick! One of my favorite songs covered by my favorite drummer! 👍👍
Hellhammer's masterpiece!!
phenomenal performance !!! 🤘

No one ASKED for this
But everyone NEEDED this
Our bodies are ready.

Hellhammer is a king! congrats Alex, for this, greetings from Brazil!
Thank you SO MUCH! LOVE IT!
Great cover! My favorite so far!
I can’t believe I’m gonna say this but that Lars Ulrich snare sounds amazing😂
You fucking crushed it dude!!!! We want more and we wants it now!!! How about some Belphegor covers?
Those toms sound amazing!
sick af as always!
I will never forgive Dimmu for kicking out Nicholas Barker!
This is hellhammer on this album, I agree though
Maybe, but Hellhammer is just fucking ON here. You cannot create a better or more perfect drum part for this tune. Super impressed at the skill of Hellhammer and Alex!

Wow. I didn't know dimmu sounded like this. Sick stuff sir.
Man is absolutely filled with the Spirit, and it couldn't be more obvious.
