Nope. Good ole 5.3L. What gave it the advantage was the 6L80 transmission with those long legs. 6.2L are way quicker on acceleration. About the same as that 5.7 hemi they were chasing. Mid 5 second 0-60. But once rolling you can’t tell a difference between the 5.3 Tahoe and 6.2 Yukon 60+. Same transmission for that year model. I love Tahoes. Imagine if they put the 7.0L LS7 in the police trims. These scatpack boys wouldn’t be able to get more than 2 car lengths away.

Back in the seventies, for example Chevies had the 283, 327, 350, 396, etc. Mopar the excellent 340 (Plymouth Duster) the 383, 440, etc. Ford, 289, 302, 351 Windsor, and the 351 Cleveland. 429 Cobra, etc. This "liter" system, I am so lost, and have no idea what you're talking about. Getting old sucks.

saw the trooper portion of this pursuit on another channel a couple hours ago. it was basically just a video dump. no LRPD footage. The Story telling and editing here is worth the wait, Thanks NST for another quality production.
Yeah I unsubscribed to the LRHN you tuber after seeing him on a video pulled over for no license and no insurance which had something to do with back child support. I was so taken back with how disrespectful he was during the stop, but yet his channel puts out content about ASP pursuits. After seeing his interaction I unsubscribed immediately and never watched anything on his channel again. Check it out for yourself it’s on the •”Police Pursuits” channel from 8 months ago and labeled “You tuber LRHN berates trooper”.
These new young troopers are learning their cars and the roads and got a good foot chase in. Great job trooper Caviness! I’m surprised that Tahoe got to 135mph. lol. LRPD has some darned good drivers.
There was an abbreviated version of this earlier on another channel that started with Trp Caviness of the ARP arriving at the building where the perp wrecked out, but all the other views from the different responders are great, thanks NST. Ofc. Bryant is one heck of a wheel man, that should be a promotional video for Chevy Tahoe. My butt cheeks creased my seat cushion a number of times just watching on my screen, I would imagine there were some tense moments behind the wheel of the responding officers as well. Great job from all the responders.
How compassionate to ask the suspect if he's okay 🤗 & kept making sure he was okay & comfortable. Thru all that he did not lose his cool, threaten to shoot or none of that. Impeccable work!!!
Man that trooper was so calm, you would swear he was sitting on his couch in his living room not chasing this guy in his car. Total professionalism bad guy went on the wrong side of the road. He stayed on the correct side of the road showed total respect to the one they caught.

@@fartingduck5316Thats true but on the straights, the Charger wasn’t pulling ahead and neither did the Charger out maneuver the Tahoe. GM engineers did a terrific job on the dynamics of the Tahoe! This is all considering that the Tahoe is a MUCH bigger and heavier vehicle.

Dodge Charger is the official suspect vehicle in Arkansas. Any cop driving behind knows there’s an 85% chance that if lit up, that driver is fleeing regardless of the reason. Folks driving these vehicles feel fast and invisible when they simply stand out.😂

Favorite pursuit moments: 11:05 - "This is gonna be a long report." 12:09 - "I got you now don't I" (as he slides a freaking Tahoe through the turn) "You like that?" he says to the rookie lol. 12:27 - "He done ran into the wrong one today!" 13:28 - Controls an insane slide through a turn. (again in a freaking Tahoe) Then exclaims: "Hm, alright." 15:48 - "State's no longer with me. I'm about to end this shit." 16:46 - Jackass perp tripping over his own feet 🤣 18:52 - Asking the perp who tripped over his own feet - "You okay? A little scary wasn't it?" 20:22 - to the rookie: "Nice tackle homie."
If you've ever followed somebody (say in some convoy going somewhere) its not easy, way easier being the driver in front. This cop drove so professionally and calm, it even shocks me and I'm overly proud of my driving. Unless he just doesn't care? I'm going with that, as he can't be as good as this vid shows.
Mr. Bryant gets the cool cucumber award. Damn shame his PD department doesn't allow him to aggressively PIT. That bad policy endangered hundreds of citizen's lives that day.
Dang excellent editing Sir NST! You need to try writing stories too, you have the talent for making everything come together for the story to flow. Deep respect for all the officers and their abilities to drive. Irritates me that so many civilian vehicles do not always pull over, but when the troopers/LEO's are right on their butts, it is understandable. Just need to be aware of your surroundings, head on a swivel I guess.

If you've ever followed somebody (say in some convoy going somewhere) its not easy, way easier being the driver in front. This cop drove so professionally and calm, it even shocks me and I'm overly proud of my driving. Unless he just doesn't care? I'm going with that, as he can't be as good as this vid shows.
Mr. Bryant gets the cool cucumber award. Damn shame his PD department doesn't allow him to aggressively PIT. That bad policy endangered hundreds of citizen's lives that day.

Dang excellent editing Sir NST! You need to try writing stories too, you have the talent for making everything come together for the story to flow. Deep respect for all the officers and their abilities to drive. Irritates me that so many civilian vehicles do not always pull over, but when the troopers/LEO's are right on their butts, it is understandable. Just need to be aware of your surroundings, head on a swivel I guess.
