Anyone who feels that 12 years is too long of a time to develop a country devastated after years of conflicts and corruptions, please pause and take a keen look at your own life and see what you’ve accomplished and compare your accounts to of your achievements to hers. I’m not a supporter of Mrs. Sirleaf but I support all of the developmental changes she brought to the country as a whole. Again, Liberia is not Monrovia alone. Thanks madam Sirleaf, a true asset. President George Weah, you have the mantra now, let’s see how far you do in 6 years before granting you another. We are praying for you and mama Liberia.
Ellen Johnson Sirleaf did extremely well after our civil conflict. Her achievement was remakible and will forever be remembered in the history of LIBERIA. Thanks madam Sirleaf, may God continue to bless and keep you safe.
Yes, I am very glade for this video. I want to thank President A.J Sirleaf for all her efforts thus far and I do hope and pray that the next person to take office will surely carry on and complete all that she initiated and yet to be completed. Thanks again President Sirleaf.
Liberia is beautiful. Thank you very much for documenting the significant progress that has been made to improve the life of the people of Liberia. From South Africa wishing Liberia and her people all God's blessings.
I sincerely hope Liberia will be able to reconstruct itself and find the peace and stability it so much needs. A country that has much potential deserves a better future.
Anyone dragging the idiotic aspect of the color of peoples skin, is in point of fact demonstrating their take on reality. - An individual's "skin color'' _IS_ just that - nothing more!
An excellent documentary 👏 👍 👌 🙌 God Almighty bless the former president of Liberia 🇱🇷 🙏 as well as all the wonderful brothers and sisters of this beautiful country. I pray that there shall be no more repeating of the ugly and painful experience which clouded the entire land. A new and glorious dawn of hope and peace has come to the resilient sons and daughters of 🇱🇷 🇱🇷 🇱🇷 🇱🇷 🇱🇷. Long live the people of Liberia 🇱🇷 and God bless Liberia 🇱🇷 🙏 ❤ ♥ 💖 Shalom.
President Sirleaf is the most amazing woman ever. The devastation facing her as she took office were outrageous and she stepped up fearless and brave. There are no words to describe her. And the people of Liberia........so strong and determined. Liberia will rise and be ten times better than ever. God bless Liberia.
@Ciata Victor. Thank you for your informative piece. More often than not, the only time we learn about a place is when such a place is under stress, as was the case with Liberia during the Ebola epidemic. The last time I paid attention to Liberia was during and shortly after the civil. I had high hopes for Ellen Sirleaf and I am glad to see that she has achieved monumental accomplishments. It's obvious that Liberians made the right choice and I hope their next choice is just as good, if not better.
Impressive and informative documentary for someone like me who hasn't been to Liberia since leaving there in 1971. These are very positive things about Liberia as opposed to the doom and gloom opinions I've heard from others. This has effeminately inspired me to come home for a visit. Thanks to the TLC team.
I LOVE Liberia and the loving people. [abt 2yrs 1973+]3 But sadly most of the world has wrote you off - like a dying patient they 'pulled the plug'. . I searched Expedia for travel--no results. I searched 'charity foundations in Liberia - no results. And obviously the USA who should respect and love Liberia - has a banded you. Bless you.
After watching this documentary on Liberia, I can only repeat myself,: What a planet this _could_ have been!!! - Tons & tons of respect to former president Ellen and the Liberian people, and the very best of wishes for George Weah and his country from Norway! 🤘🏼
Ciata your look at Liberia is unflinching. Yet, it does show that the nation is making measurable, even remarkable progress. I can still remember when the road going up to Yekepa was for much of its mileage unpaved - beginning north of Gbarnga. That made for an arduous trip especially if one had to go between Monrovia and Nimba. Thank you for posting this on_time dispatch. As always your production is to quote a military expression, high_speed low_drag
It's mind bothering when I hear Liberians say, what did she do for the country in 12 years? I guess people are unhappy because the focus was not just on Monrovia but, Liberia as a whole. That makes her a better leader in my book. Let's stop the grombling and buildi on what she has done.
great work guys. very informative in regards to our government's efforts to rebuild the great nation (Liberia). for those that are giving blank criticism, shut the hell up.
To all those posting vedios on Facebook and UA-cam of Liberia we are asking you to go to these various places on this vedio and show us the ongoing progress in these initiatives. We are looking at increase support to the George Weah Administration to Continue in these initiatives. Same support given to past government must be accorded to prescent government as Liberia moves forward. After all it's for the benefit of Liberia, not individuals.
Liberia is a work in progress. Its on the mend. Rebuilding a society and its infrastructure is challenging. In the specific instance of Liberia, rebuilding poses its own set of contextual challenges.
Thanks for this insight into the development of Liberia and leadership. This is a definite encouragement for me to consider to bring my company and invest. Too often only negative is shown about African countries so in considering where in the continent to enter, this video of Liberia, where I could see the images and hear the national governance and activities is excellent. What is the average salary for a staff with a first degree in Liberia? What is the salary of office staff without degree?
If anyone knows anything, has been to, lives close to the original Radio ELWA, or just live in Monrovia, I would love to chat. My Grandfather was in charge of the radio station's construction and I'm interested to know about the station he helped build, the country of Liberia itself. I have books at home referencing him and I have found a video on youtube that mentions his name in regards to building the station. He was a Missionary with the Sudan Interior Mission and a Reverend. I am not religious at all, but am very interested lately, in Liberia and its troubles and successes, in addition to the radio station and my grandfather.
MrNotebookguy: the world did not abandone Liberia, it take the people of a country to build a country. most Liberians are not educated that why Liberia is so poor and educated Liberians who are oversea refuses to come home and build their country.
Oh almighty HEAVENLY FATHER you ARE right and THANKS FOR saving LIBERIA. Because Liberia West coast of Africa the liberians them STILLED going through transition in west Africa. LIBERIA came from a long way, 15 YEARS Civil war and Liberians barely building few houses in Liberia West Africa. THANKFULLY, liberians especially don't want any more violence Civil War in their country.
May the God of Israel bless Liberia and give its government enough wisdom for the improvement of each and every liberian life. Greetings from Panama, my brothers and sisters.

Ummm..20% of the imported oil is from Liberia. Maybe you should learn a bit before commenting you moron. Don't let facts get in the way of you story though. Idiot.
Brilliant documentary well done. However what Sirleaf should have done to stimulate the economy was exercise a zero tolerance policy with immediate and harsh jail sentences for any official engaged in any form of corruption which is by far the worst problem in Liberia right to this moment. CORRUPTION destroys the chances of citizens to prosper.
I'm black, live in the USA, and I don't depend on whites for a damned thing. I depend on my country to provide services for which I pay taxes. Whites working for the government carrying out these services are doing for me what they do for millions of other tax payers. I own my home, have no debt, have resources in various forms, have never been incarcerated, am a veteran and college graduate holding both baccalaureate and graduate degrees. I am also an octogenarian. Where in hell are you getting your fuck.d up ideas?
Madam Sirleaf, that bust of yours in Coasto Rica do not do a favor to your charming beauty, please have them do a better beautiful version of the First Lady President Of Africa and Liberia.
+Mek Diabe - Ebola does not define Liberia. Like we said in the documentary, everything stopped in Liberia. Many of us thank God for the donated roads and any other good will the old ma has brought to Liberia. Compare to where we started from in 2006, isolated, abandoned, heavily sanctioned and with billions of dollars in international and domestic debt, we are making progress, she's laying a foundation for future generations to build on. She made it possible for many of us, cast away in self impose exile and stuck in refugees camps around West Africa for 20 or more years to return home. We as a nation are in transition, that is what I see at least from where I sit, live and work, in Monrovia Liberia. I did not just visit Monrovia last year, I live in Liberia and do travel around the country for one purpose only, to document what I see is happening in Liberia, I visited all 15 counties to produce this documentary, we are not there yet, but we are on our way, doing the things we should be doing to move forward. the government need to educate the citizens on live stocks . breeding . this way people can do away with eating wild live meat . they can breed and eat a cow . goat etc i am proud of the president . she is doing a very good job. may god give her long life . amen
they were educated on that stuff when they left the fields of the USA. the president of liberia is a corrupt communist who would love nothing better than for everyone but her cabinet just go and die. they used the charity money to make it look like they were doing something

what about the road from Maryland county to Monrovia?
I think job programs and sanitation trucks and equipment would be great donations to them from developed countries.
