I think people don't know how to separate their feelings from logic. Just because you don't like Donald Trump as a person it doesn't mean he isn't a great salesman. The best people to learn from if you want to become a millionaire are people like Donald Trump, but you'll never be able to objectively pick out the genius things people are capable of if you shut your ears off as soon as you hear their name.
I definitely agree that you have to be able to look at him or anyone objectively and see both the good and the bad. And he is a great salesman. Making 60 million people go for someone with no experience in government is a pretty big sales pitch. But he's not a good businessman overall. By simple results if he'd taken the money he inherited and invested it into a simple S&P 500 fund he'd have more money than he currently does. He went bankrupt many times because he wasn't good at the running the business side. But he does unquestionably make a great sales pitch, and he had a very good understanding of the game he was in in terms of the electoral college and where to focus his efforts in order to win. The fact that he won by losing the popular vote by so much is a testament to how well he specifically went after and got the votes he needed in the locations he needed them.

Once you put yourself in a state of vulnerability, someone can come along, and take advantage of it. When you’re desperate, you’ve taken away the hard work of the other person, and make you at the mercy of whatever they want to offer. You’re no longer in the power position.
We are all "salesmen" regardless of our occupation because we always have to sell our ideas to other people. In order to get hired, we have to "sell" that we are the best one for the job. When she said he is the best salesman, she didn't mean it in a derogatory manner. She meant it as a complement. She also probably meant that he is a good negotiator. In order to sell well, you have to also know how to negotiate well.
Sure, but the problem is that if you don't deliver you stop being a salesman and become a conman. There's a lot of lawsuits for example that testaments to Trump's lack of integrity and follow through.

He is a phenomenal salesman. It takes great selling skills to sell someone like him to the 'party of family values' and turn it into what it has become. I admire his level of mastery in that area. Barbara is right. DJT is a killer shark and if you want to be successful, you need that skill to some extent. Just use it for good rather than turn the country into one of men rather than of laws.
