There's actually a strategic reason. It's the most important card in the deck in the current meta, and you don't really want to activate it during your opponent's main phase, because if you do, they have talent available. Shifter is the only main deck monster in most floo decks that can be QCR, which means you can see that it's in your opening hand immediately without fully reading your card names, allowing you to lead with it in their draw without them trying to speed to the main phase.

I can relate to this a lot. I just got into yugioh and playing a budget rikka deck and actually getting some wins against Fire kings and other decks XD
A decently built Marincess deck goes well against Fire King
I one took a game off R Ace with Orcust or Suship. Then once also took a game off DLink with Suship. It was really funny

It is kinda ridiculous how expensive meta stuff is. Skyhawk is very understandable with leaving the game
what you mean, these meta decks costing 3 times more then full power tear while nowhere the power level and are bound to get reprinted and hit directly after cause thats how komoney run it for the past 2 years.
iam just chilling on spright and spend like 20€ every 1-2 months just to play a different variant.
ps Many people dont know this but spright is the modern BA, it will outlast all of these decks, until the link 2/ rank 2 stuff isn't too power crept. Same for picking up tear rn if you want, only expensive thing is the field spell, everyone is selling there ots so you get high rarity cheap, and its also toolbox so its gonna be even better after lightsworn stuff comes out.
Or since The story is over build branded, its cheaper now, and similar to what shaddol been for the last 10 years this is gonna be the deck every fusion deck will rely on to carry it. So its longterm investment.
However the second ones are the ( konami pet decks, eg 5ds, Blackwing, synchrons, sky waifu, these will always get support.

@@nsreturn1365 tbh I don't know how much of this is sarcasm or serious but bonfire is ridiculously expensive same with diabellstar to the point where (and someone can correct me if I'm wrong here, I'm not from the US) it's close to 1000 USD to just get the best ENGINE and searcher, let alone the actual archetype. You mention decks with more staying power like Spright but here's the thing, diabellstar is supposed to be the next Albaz, Visas etc card

My Danger Dark World deck only costed me $75 to make and does phenomenally online and at locals. Price tags aren’t everything and they’re not always a reflection of a deck’s overall quality. There is just no rational justification for a single card to cost $150 in general lol 🤷🏻♀️

3 bonfire in MD equal to 90 UR dust. Consider build from the scratch with no card at all. It still a lot of gems to get the card your needed. Snake-eyes deck is the most expensive deck regardless what format your play, TCG, OCG and Master duel.
