The "dream" was a kind of afterworld. Hence he had to fight to come back to the living world. Doesn't make sense for a dream, since you just wake up from a dream sometime without having to do something in your dream for coming back. Makes a lot more sense for the doctors to be so shocked about his waking up. It's normal to wake from a coma, they wouldn't be so shocked, it's not normal to wake from death.
@@holladiewaldfee6071 As far as I remember, they were surprised in the dub that he recovered that insanely fast. There even was a mention of how he was in critical condition just a short while ago, with "critical condition" in my eyes implying a risk of him never waking up again.
Brunos death was really impactful, still get chills when I watch this duel. But well 5Ds did always made us feel sympathy even with villains. 2 saddest death would be Ai, because like Bruno he sacrificed himself to save the future 3 is Earth , I cried so hard for him but it wasnt really impactful for the main characters or plot
Ai did not sacrifice himself. he lost the duel so he died. does not matter if earth‘s death was impactful or not. it‘s about the feelings at the moment he dies. seeing a ignis captured by a cruel company while the only thing he desired was to save the ignis he loves was hard
no bro earths death actually was very impactful to the plot and chars . Half the Ignis if not all were in despair or hatred and this started the whole process going to complete darkness.. Earth was one of the most innocent ones he literally did nothing bad.. and that showed the Ignis how evil the humans actually were. And so hence AI the dark ignis fell too in the end giving up actually to the process
Personally I hated Robbopi due to the simple fact that as Ai's cohert, they were a sora knock off, even down to an irl inanimate deck based around a mechanic often overlooked by others, in this case Co-linking
@@SuperSayianWarrior I wouldn't say he was a knockoff because he developed into a "Sora mode" he was never like that initially. Not only that, it makes perfect sense for him to use cute appliances because, well he was one. His monsters never turned demented as well. @@frostreaper2311 really, cock attitude, superiority complex, trap properties in the jpn dubbing, similar if not copy pasted design...... Need I go on?
What makes AI's death really sad for me is that he lost due to an error in judgement, something only a human would do. And him talking about fearing death just shows you, in his last moments, AI was as close to humanity as possible.
The top 5 saddest death scenes for me 5: Yuto (it got sadder when the show finished and I realized Yuto was never gonna get his body back) 4: Roboppi (The final moment get me everytime) 3: Aporia (That Zone vs Aporia duel is one of my favs and too see him die was really heartbreaking after just finding hope) 2: Ai (Never expected Ai to die and to see him die at the hands of Yusaku was heartbreaking) 1: Hell Kaiser (kinda biased since he is in my top 5 favorite Yugioh characters of all time but damn to see him duel his heart out and die by his own means got to me) HM: Carly, Rua, Z-ONE, Earth, Bruno, Shark, Rio, Kaito
Brian Ford YOOO THE WAY APORIA FELL, THAT SHIT HIT HARD. (I’m referring to when we first thought he died, against Jack, Rua & Ruca. And the actual death scene hurt too, but I feel him saying, “This is hope.” And his story ending right there hurt way more to me.
@@brianford4914 Technically, Zarc attacked Yuto after Yuya decided to make him reason, and made Yuto end his turn because "he felt guilty", letting Zarc (that controlled Yugo) attack Yuya with Clear Wing Syhncro Dragon (because Yuya stood in Yugo's attack while saving Yuto) and Yuto literally sacrificed himself to save Yuya. Yuto is a good man, he deserves the praise.
Most of the ignis death’s were very sad and brutal in some way tortured except Lightning and Aqua who accepted it. With Ai and Earth both in a way die with a lot of what seems like regret and sadness.
I thought Roboppi's death was really sad tbh, even as someone who wasn't fond of his character (when he got Ai) at first. He was accidently brought into a fight without having a true idea of what was going on, almost like a child with all the information in the world but not knowing what to do with it. (if you know what I mean) And what makes it sadder is that is the reason he died, all this information just broke him, and when he had to be killed by Soulburner (And Yusaku gave him permission). It was so similar to having to make the choice of putting your pet to sleep ;; Additionally he didn't even come back in the end (or wasn't shown to) and the fact that his death was caused by the pure accident of getting too much Ai and free will for a cleaning robot, its pretty depressing ;;
Flamestriker Eaglesus EXACTLY. I really hated Robbopi with a passion, especially bc he came out the spot and beat both Ghost Girl & Blood Spheard at the same time, two duelist who are both supposed to be better than him, and especially together. And he didn’t even really comprehend he just MURDERED two people that were tryna defend someone and then he goes onto say “ IMMA COMMIT MASS GENOCIDE BC WHY NOT.” But then that duel with Soulburner, made me more neutral on him. Clearly his mental wasn’t correct but then we see him literally going insane and malfunctioning, and then revert back to a simpler form and understanding when Soulburner beat him at the end.
@@mezasepkmn yes! What I think made it so impactful personally to me as well is that his death literraly made me dislike him less and pity him more because I understand what situation he got put into all of a sudden! @@flamestrikereaglesus1844 what makes roboppi sadder it was that it was heavily implied to have literally been yusaku's "pet" as it is shown during a minor second the "build your own roboppi" box.
Nah, Carly's death is the most tragic and has the most build up. She willingly put herself in harms way and the cruelty of fate that she was always curious about pitted her against the one she cared about most. There was tonnes of build up and chemistry and when Jack realised he couldn't save her, opted to forsake his duty and die with her.
Number 7 also had that moment where everyone felt Earth's death, even Spectre who didn't personally know his AI partner, a man as cold and sadistic as Spectre feeling a great pain adds emotion to the scene prior as well.
One of the saddest deaths in my opinion is Joey against Mai. While people say that the season wrote her arc poorly, I disagree to an extent. PTSD is very real and seeing her lose herself in her journey to rebuild herself was heartbreaking. Seeing her realize how wrong she was and how much she hurt Joey & friends for something that wasnt worth it. She was orphaned when younger , tortured and then manipulated. She then gets defeated off screen failing to make ammends.
Eh no, it was extremely poorly written. First off: if she was losing so much, the blame rests on the authors due to always pitting her against the protagonists/Marik (and she had a genuinely stupid moment with Marik). Second: the whole Doma arc is a badly written filler arc with some characters actually regressing in development (Mai and Atem, mostly). Third and more important: nothing could ever justify what she did because none of the people who actually cared for her thought less of her for losing duels, it was a random dude who talked shit about and she let it get into her head instead of, you know, listening to the people who knew and cared for her. Joey was possessed, tortured and even killed, and returned no worse for wear while she couldn't handle a defeat. So she ended up as an ungrateful bitch and was forgiven too easily. Mai's behavior is, actually, one of the biggest reasons the Doma arc was so bad. Can say the same about Weevil and Rex, whose jerkass moments were dialed up to eleven just for the sake of drama (Rex suddenly started to care about REBD again and Weevil, well, let's say that "MONSTA CADO" was well deserved".
Honestly, I always found Kite's to be the saddest for me. The guy did alot of bad things but he did them for pure reasons. He was by far the most skilled duelist in Zexal, he didn't have any mystical powers like the Shining and Chaos Draws but was still able to go tow to tow with Zexal 1 Yuma/Astral and draw with them before even getting Neo Galaxy Eye. He was even able to beat arguably the 2nd strongest Barrian, that being Mizar, in a duel through pure skill. But he went out in one of the most disturbing ways possible.
Another honorable mention would have been Kaiba's death in the Yami Yugi and Kaiba vs Dartz Duel. Like that duel was the first time Kaiba swallow his pride taking the blow for the pharaoh... ironic Yugi and Kaiba vs Corrupted Aigami was another honorable mention. Also... BRUNO!!!!!!!!!!
No death will be more sadder to me than Z-one's and Earths, Z-one was never a bad guy....he was just a man looking for a better tomorrow today And Earth never did anything to anybody, He was just a good AI that was at the wrong place at the wrong time R.I.P Z-one and Ai😥
@@dariohieras9186 well....that'll happen when your put with the pressure of being the last member of mankind... Not to mention having only 3/1 people to talk to will do things to a guy.....especially since their all dudes!
In my top 3 deaths, the top 2 is tied by Z-One and Aporia. Those two were for me those who had the most suffered during 5DS' apocalyptic future and the way they died brought tears to my eyes. Aporia, after finally finding hope, dies in attempt to set back his friend to the right path but Z-One's despair was too overwelming and after desperately needing Afterglow, he drew the Monster that ultimately ruined most of his parts in his life. Z-One : Even though he went to killing one of his friends, he had to see his three friends die one by one until he was out of himself and only saw destruction to set everything. After he realized that Yusei had the power to change the future, he did one of the noblest acts I was to see, only wishing to join his friends in a new life (if he was truly future Yusei, he would have been definitely in the second spot) 1st place is Bruno/Antinomy. I don't think I need to explain.
One death that I thought was truly heartbreaking was Martha’s and Rally’s in 5ds. I know they get revived later on but damn did it hurt to see those two die. Jack was absolutely livid after Martha’s death and practically ordered Yusei to beat Rudger. Only for Rudger to switch with Rally
Welcome back buddy. The show is nothing without their death scenes & dramatic circumstances & otherwise. 🦈 & Zone was very emotional. I appreciated Waking the Dragon season for the character development. Yugi was well worth the season. Ai, Revolver, Yugi, Dennis,Carly, Joey & Bruno really hits home. I remember viper was one off the list that was memorable.
Geez this was a great video but it was just gut punches to the feels all over the place. I think it’s very telling of the scenes to make you feel such strong emotions, for a show about “just playing cards” to the casual fan. Nice work breaking these scenes down and relating the emotions you felt while watching them to how a lot of the viewers I’m sure felt too.
The death of Bruno will always be the most heartbreaking death in Yugioh. Bruno was Yusei’s friend. And even when he remembered that he was the enemy of Yusei he also remembered he was his friend and gave him hope for the future. And so even though he knew that dueling him could potentially lead to his own death he did everything he could to give him what he needed to stop zone. 😞
Ai's death would have been number 2, if the final 5 seconds haven't given us hope that Ai is still alive and Yusaku may find him. That doesn't mean that I didn't cry when that happened... 😭😭
@Chaos of madness Well, most of the characters from the video are also not dead, because they were revived, but that doesn't mean the moment was not sad.
Yuma's last duel with Shark ended with Yuma trying to let Shark win by cancelling Utopia's attack on Barian Hope, but Shark lost due's his own Card's effect.
I’m surprised Professor Viper’s death isn’t on here. Having the illusion of your long dead son returning to you only to actually walk the plank and fall several stories to your death
I think Jim Crocodile Cook's death could had a spot in there. Maybe in the honorable mentions. I really liked that death scene We see his backstory, when he first met his reptile friend, which was cute. And then he realises that Judai was such a nice guy who could be friends with Karen so fast. He tried as hard as he could to save Judai from Supreme King "depression". Yet he couldn't. :/
I feel like Alito’s death was also pretty sad. He really wanted to bring his friend back but even though he did achieve it, he also hurt his friend a lot after sacrificing himself, you could literally see it on Girags face
Great video as Always Dylan Here's my Top 10 :- 10- Hell Kaiser 9- Carly 8- Rio 7- Shark 6- III & V 5- Bruno 4- Jonouchi 3- Earth 2- AI 1- Kaito ( by far the best and the saddest death scene for me )
Bruno and Ai's death always hits me hard. Bruno because he helped push Yusei to become stronger and believed in him and sacrificing himself and Ai being the sole surviving Ignis lived long enough to become a villian all so he could save Yusaku from an inevitable outcome. The feels don't get any real than this
Yusei! You're my hope! Grab the light that is beyond accel synchro! Create a better future! GO! YUSEI! Aporia, antinomy, paradox I will soon join you at last These words will always bring tears
The most hearthbreaking moment in Yugioh history is Konami never releasing New Volcanic Support....😭 Day 352 of waiting for New Volcanic Support to arrive
One of my favorite death/moment is when III and V died, seeing these two sacrificing themselves for Yuma telling him they will always be with him in his katabingo spirit was very heartwarming and sad
I think that also Quattro's (or IV) death is one of the most saddest death... he actually loses against Shark, trying to bring him back from the Barians (Sorry for bad english)
I'm surprised you didn't mention Yusho. At least in my opinion, it really hit because he was doing such a spectacular performance in his duel against Yuri only to go down to a burn loop, then was carded before his already emotionally strained son's eyes.
Axel Brodie/Austin O'Brien in GX had 2 death scenes that were just really sad. The first against Supreme King to bring back Jaden/Judai which he ends up sacrificing himself for after confronting his own fear. Then again in the 4th season against Trueman in the form of his dad in a messed up psychological duel about how he left his mom to die in fire and despite putting up a good fight, he gets convinced that instead he should've just died back then with both parents rather than choose one over the other. Then immediately after he loses, you find out that his mom is actually alive. So all the trauma was just mind games to make him lose. It was a powerful, dark, and heavy episode. Unfortunately it's not well known like much of season 4 of GX
@@Deathmare235 It was only really for about two minutes and only really looked like it had happened at first, but when he dissolved into a pile of nothing through Sartorius' illusion right before he put him above the lava pit to wager his life for the satellite key, I guess you could say he "died" for a minute. But it doesn't really count, I guess.

This might not be common for most people but I also think that Noah Kaibas death was some what heart breaking in the Japanese side. Despite the arc being placed so poorly, it some what got me when Noah wanted to die along side Gozoburo
Honestly, I agree with this, as I get older and go back to that clumsy arc, the only thing that gets more painful is the growing realisation of how tragic Noah Kaiba's entire character is.
damn, I'm still sad over Bruno's death as well as sharks death, I guess I was really invested in what would happened to them while I was first watching the show, even cared about the death of other people on the list like Z-one and Ai who were villains that I didn't want them to die off
to me, bruno's death in 5DS absolutely broke me. His death was legit as you said and he doesn't get revived by divine powers or any cliché that happens. Even though he was supposed to be another villain as he was Z-one's agent he sacrificed himself to his enemy - yuusei. The 2nd person he trusted the most (z-one being the 1st). Even at his death, he had awesome character development 9(`-,^,-)9 At first I thought Yu☆Gi☆Oh was going to be another kiddy anime like beyblade and then *death*, *slavery*, *despair*, *peerpressure* comes in. This tricked me hard
Dennis' death legit was the most jaw dropping moment I've seen at the time,Especially since I was watching it with my friend and We literally had to get up and take a moment to realize what just happened,Yes we were old enough to know about suicide
Love the video! I am surprised Roboppy didn't make it. Watching him break down as is programming just couldn't handle Ai's system was honestly so sad. I had a huge reaction from me, like I said, great list! I just wanted to share one that hit me kind of hard.
I feel like Professor Viper's death was very tragic. He was given the belief that he was reunited with his son, but us as viewers knowing that he was walking towards his demise and that his goals amounted to nothing made things really messed up.
Kaito's death makes me cry everytime. We see over the whole series how he's willing to do everything to save his brothers life, even sacrifycing his own health, and even his father is more concerned over his brother than Kaito. And in the last episodes we just see Kaito's body getting more and more damged and fucked up. Beginning with that mosquito guy giving him halucinations and then getting into that torture duel with Mr. Heartland, which is physical and mental torture for Kaito and he never recovers from it, and we see how his health is getting worse. Then we see how he's struggling on the moon with Mizael and he wins. And he fucking smiles because he accepted his death. I probably forgot a lot I wanted to say but congratulations if you read all of that.
After watching your videos for all of these years, I knew that you were going to put Bruno's death at #1. P.S. I 100% agree with that choice. That was one of the only moments in fiction that brought tears to my eyes.
Hey buddy, I can’t see this video because I haven’t seen all the Yu-Gi-Oh! Shows and I don’t want to spoil any sad scenes that may have an impact on me. But it’s good to hear you again. 👍🏼🔥
Good to see you again Dylan great video Kaito’s scene really hit me hard cause he’s one of my favorite characters and I agree he won and he died that’s insane also Joey’s scene too I wanted him to win so bad against Marik and save Mai but plot said otherwise anyway I hope everyone has a great day
Joey deserved that win against Marik even narratively. It'd be a true moment of an underdog showing up & then pulling off a big damn hero moment. Even if he'd pass out afterwards & be incapable of dueling for the rest of the tourney, his victory taking out the villain and freeing Good Marik would've been a fantastic way to show Joey's power as a duelist
I feel like Professor Viper’s death in GX was pretty sad. He thinks he’s reunited with his dead son thanks to Yubel but instead he just falls to his death
The other thing that made Earth's Death so heartbreaking was the impact it had on Ai and Spectre. Seeing Spectre breaking down in tears is really what made Earth's death hit home for me
Nope, he died in the original Japanese dub. Mokuba commented that Joey could really die when Phoenix ra was prepping its attack, and when he collapsed mokuba ran and checked on Joey, which was when they found out that he wasn’t breathing.
Well no. *they* are dead, their memories, their presence everything gone. Shay still doesn’t have a sister or his freind. It’s just a bit of their personality is still left behind
There are so many tragic deaths in ygo, I don't think I could rank them, but the 5 that moved me to tears would be: Roboppi, AI, Ryo Marufuji, Atem going back to the afterlife, and Astral. Can't quite remember if I cried when Bruno died, but it is possible so Bruno would be a honorable mention. Surprised Astral's death wasn't on the list since it had such an impact on Yuma
Earth's dying scences always fills me with horror compared to many others on this list, because not only is it a permanent death in the anime (while many others are revived somehow), but also because how his "humanity" as an Ignis is trampled upon by actual humans. The death is slow, and very painful to watch as Earth begins to understand what's happening to him and that they won't hear him out. Many death scenes in Yu-Gi-Oh! are somehow peaceful : soul soothing dialogues, flashbacks... You get no of that here. I... really, really hate this scene for what it implies, and yet also love it for how perfectly made it is.
God... I love the Japanese death scenes. They always make each death feel meaningful. Rio, Shark, Kite, Dennis, Antinomy, Kalin, and more... I especially feel for Rio, Shark and Kite. I love all 3 of them. Rio's death in front of her own brother... That's just terrible. I'm so glad Shark got his revenge. Shark is one of my favourite rivals and god... He just didn't deserve what he got dealt with. It's really unfortunate how one of the best characters in Zexal dies in front of his (I would say) best friend. Kite... 😭 WHY. Talk about disturbing.... Not only is it once of the most horrible ways to go, but HE WON. It's so much more unexpected than most because he DID NOT LOSE. And the duel before it was.. Just amazing. I would talk more but I don't have the time to.
The best part of Yugioh is when they have permanent deaths which make the show heavier and have actual stakes and consequences. Hence 5ds is so good. Gx was pretty good as well.

He died in the original. They just censored it to a coma in the dub version. Kaiba's doctor's declared him officialy dead. Watch the japanese version.
Playmaker: AI!
Yuzu: YUYA!
Yuma: ASTRAL!
Yusei: BRUNO!
Syrus: ANIKI!
Atem: AIBOU!

@@TheJaredPunch ah thanks, i only watch the dub
Akira's death when he sacrifices himself during the Playmaker vs Specter death.
yeah. sure he get revived ut man AKira was an MVP during the whole VRAINS anime
Brunos death was really impactful, still get chills when I watch this duel. But well 5Ds did always made us feel sympathy even with villains.
2 saddest death would be Ai, because like Bruno he sacrificed himself to save the future
3 is Earth , I cried so hard for him but it wasnt really impactful for the main characters or plot
Yeah his death was incredible man. Still the saddest for me
Ai did not sacrifice himself. he lost the duel so he died.
does not matter if earth‘s death was impactful or not. it‘s about the feelings at the moment he dies. seeing a ignis captured by a cruel company while the only thing he desired was to save the ignis he loves was hard
No doubt Bruno's is the saddest like he was a part of the team that is 5ds
no bro earths death actually was very impactful to the plot and chars .
The saddest moment is Carly doesn't get nothing good after her arc as a Dark Signer. And doesn't get Chemistry with Jack.
It's not heartbreaking but it's hilarious when Yami Bakura sends Bones and his friends to hell.

I'm actually surprised Roboppy's death isn't on here
Definitely!!
Roboppy was essentially someone who was corrupted out of his own control
@@frostreaper2311 really, cock attitude, superiority complex, trap properties in the jpn dubbing, similar if not copy pasted design...... Need I go on?
@@frostreaper2311 yeah. it was suprisingly "sudden" how robopi just broke down. it was kinda hard to watch first time.
What makes AI's death really sad for me is that he lost due to an error in judgement, something only a human would do. And him talking about fearing death just shows you, in his last moments, AI was as close to humanity as possible.
The top 5 saddest death scenes for me
5: Yuto (it got sadder when the show finished and I realized Yuto was never gonna get his body back)
4: Roboppi (The final moment get me everytime)
3: Aporia (That Zone vs Aporia duel is one of my favs and too see him die was really heartbreaking after just finding hope)
2: Ai (Never expected Ai to die and to see him die at the hands of Yusaku was heartbreaking)
1: Hell Kaiser (kinda biased since he is in my top 5 favorite Yugioh characters of all time but damn to see him duel his heart out and die by his own means got to me)
HM: Carly, Rua, Z-ONE, Earth, Bruno, Shark, Rio, Kaito
Brian Ford YOOO THE WAY APORIA FELL, THAT SHIT HIT HARD. (I’m referring to when we first thought he died, against Jack, Rua & Ruca. And the actual death scene hurt too, but I feel him saying, “This is hope.” And his story ending right there hurt way more to me.
Wow, I have a similar list! Def also put Ryo as #1, like I legitimately cried when he died because he was such an important character to me.
Wait, yuto died?
@@_toge_ yeah against Yugo
@@brianford4914 Technically, Zarc attacked Yuto after Yuya decided to make him reason, and made Yuto end his turn because "he felt guilty", letting Zarc (that controlled Yugo) attack Yuya with Clear Wing Syhncro Dragon (because Yuya stood in Yugo's attack while saving Yuto) and Yuto literally sacrificed himself to save Yuya.
Yuto is a good man, he deserves the praise.
Ai's motivation in season 3 is heartbreaking as his own existence causes Yusaku death in the simulations he experienced
Yeah absolutely
Most of the ignis death’s were very sad and brutal in some way tortured except Lightning and Aqua who accepted it. With Ai and Earth both in a way die with a lot of what seems like regret and sadness.
I thought Roboppi's death was really sad tbh, even as someone who wasn't fond of his character (when he got Ai) at first. He was accidently brought into a fight without having a true idea of what was going on, almost like a child with all the information in the world but not knowing what to do with it. (if you know what I mean) And what makes it sadder is that is the reason he died, all this information just broke him, and when he had to be killed by Soulburner (And Yusaku gave him permission). It was so similar to having to make the choice of putting your pet to sleep ;; Additionally he didn't even come back in the end (or wasn't shown to) and the fact that his death was caused by the pure accident of getting too much Ai and free will for a cleaning robot, its pretty depressing ;;
@@flamestrikereaglesus1844 what makes roboppi sadder it was that it was heavily implied to have literally been yusaku's "pet" as it is shown during a minor second the "build your own roboppi" box.

the fact that it litterally happened twice is even more impactful
"I'm gonna do my best to save you"

Nah, Carly's death is the most tragic and has the most build up. She willingly put herself in harms way and the cruelty of fate that she was always curious about pitted her against the one she cared about most. There was tonnes of build up and chemistry and when Jack realised he couldn't save her, opted to forsake his duty and die with her.
i was dropped tears when she die to save Jack. She was murdered then revived to become darksigners and duel the one she loves, tough life for her
@@longlehoang7192 ...................... 😭
Whats even more sad is season 2 threw her out as another Jack fangirl instead of something more important
I think Quattro is also a good honourable mention, his loss to Shark in the end was so big to me personally
Number 7 also had that moment where everyone felt Earth's death, even Spectre who didn't personally know his AI partner, a man as cold and sadistic as Spectre feeling a great pain adds emotion to the scene prior as well.
They did earth dirty
Tron's death scene always moves me to tears... it's so sad.
technically he never died, he survived that, unless we're not talking about the same scene
I feel that Earth’s death hurts even more just because of Specter’s line right after. The man that looked and felt like a psycho had felt pain.
Add that he WON the duel and he's just gotten no. 62, as his true number.. Ugh.. And that's such a disturbing way to go..
Number 1: The death of Johnny Steps’ ego after getting smacked by Tea in DDR

Another honorable mention would have been Kaiba's death in the Yami Yugi and Kaiba vs Dartz Duel. Like that duel was the first time Kaiba swallow his pride taking the blow for the pharaoh... ironic Yugi and Kaiba vs Corrupted Aigami was another honorable mention.
Also... BRUNO!!!!!!!!!!
Was Yugis even a death? He just got trapped in the seal not completely dead

After he realized that Yusei had the power to change the future, he did one of the noblest acts I was to see, only wishing to join his friends in a new life (if he was truly future Yusei, he would have been definitely in the second spot)
1st place is Bruno/Antinomy. I don't think I need to explain.
The Dark Spirit i would put shark after antinomy. i simply loved this guy from the start.
Joey's will power was greater than any monster or god. He stood up to Ra not once but twice.
*_The most tragic death in yugioh has to be the death of Topologina Nabee meme_*
Absolutely! And thank you man, happy to be back!
For ages, Carly’s death was the saddest for me…until I saw Ai’s death. Now I’m debating which is sadder, because they’re both just as sad to me…
Geez this was a great video but it was just gut punches to the feels all over the place. I think it’s very telling of the scenes to make you feel such strong emotions, for a show about “just playing cards” to the casual fan. Nice work breaking these scenes down and relating the emotions you felt while watching them to how a lot of the viewers I’m sure felt too.
My top 3 heartbreaking death
1. Ai
2. Vector
3. Dennis Macclesfield.
What do think about vector death to me it was a heartbreaker
The death of Bruno will always be the most heartbreaking death in Yugioh. Bruno was Yusei’s friend. And even when he remembered that he was the enemy of Yusei he also remembered he was his friend and gave him hope for the future. And so even though he knew that dueling him could potentially lead to his own death he did everything he could to give him what he needed to stop zone. 😞
Ai's death would have been number 2, if the final 5 seconds haven't given us hope that Ai is still alive and Yusaku may find him.
That doesn't mean that I didn't cry when that happened... 😭😭
It whas especially sad when you know Ai did it all to save Yusaku man
Yeah, if it was a perma death it probably would have been A BIT higher for me!
@Chaos of madness Well, most of the characters from the video are also not dead, because they were revived, but that doesn't mean the moment was not sad.
@Chaos of madness Well, Ai at least "died" in his partner's hands. Earth was slowly and painfully killed by Queen.
Yuma's last duel with Shark ended with Yuma trying to let Shark win by cancelling Utopia's attack on Barian Hope, but Shark lost due's his own Card's effect.
Bruno's death was soul-crushing when i watched it for the first time

I think Jim Crocodile Cook's death could had a spot in there. Maybe in the honorable mentions. I really liked that death scene

Not even an honorable mention for Edo Phoenix, who "died" as a hero not once, but twice in GX with truly heartbreaking scenes. 💔
Raina he died against Adrian but what was the other one?
@@Deathmare235 It was only really for about two minutes and only really looked like it had happened at first, but when he dissolved into a pile of nothing through Sartorius' illusion right before he put him above the lava pit to wager his life for the satellite key, I guess you could say he "died" for a minute. my most saddest moment of YuGiOh is Kisara's death when Aknadin killed her to posses her Blue Eyes White Dragon , Kaiba's girlfriend
This might not be common for most people but I also think that Noah Kaibas death was some what heart breaking in the Japanese side. Despite the arc being placed so poorly, it some what got me when Noah wanted to die along side Gozoburo
Thats fair, yeah him hugging the dad that basically hated him and used him as they both died is pretty sad
Honestly, I agree with this, as I get older and go back to that clumsy arc, the only thing that gets more painful is the growing realisation of how tragic Noah Kaiba's entire character is.
I can still hear
I can still hear Yusei screamming for Bruno

I feel like Professor Viper's death was very tragic. He was given the belief that he was reunited with his son, but us as viewers knowing that he was walking towards his demise and that his goals amounted to nothing made things really messed up.
"for some reason playing a card game has caused me to become severely injured!"
Kaito’s plot armor is too OP that the show didn’t want him to lose before dying
Earth's Death was so hard to watch for me. He was so Innocent and adorable. He deserved better
Him and aqua!
Yusaku vs. Ai and Ai's death made me cry.
I feel like Professor Viper’s death in GX was pretty sad. He thinks he’s reunited with his dead son thanks to Yubel but instead he just falls to his death
Bruno's death still hurts 9 years later.
For me kites and sharks deaths was the saddest for me they are both my favourite characters so seeing them both die made me sad and pissed
The other thing that made Earth's Death so heartbreaking was the impact it had on Ai and Spectre. Seeing Spectre breaking down in tears is really what made Earth's death hit home for me
Joey did not die, he collapsed and was in a coma. Still a good scene tho and is very sad.
Nope, he died in the original Japanese dub. Mokuba commented that Joey could really die when Phoenix ra was prepping its attack, and when he collapsed mokuba ran and checked on Joey, which was when they found out that he wasn’t breathing.
I mean, the Yu boys and Bracelet girls kinda get "revived" within Yuya and Yuzu... 😅😅
Surprised Astral's death wasn't on the list since it had such an impact on Yuma
bc he didnt die, he went to astral world
Me a non yu-gi-oh watcher:
How tf do people die in a children's card game, this must be intense?
