I have watched many youtubers from overseas that had done this type of video however this is the most fascinating and adorable is that they actually reply to each comments.Your channel deserves more
Thank you so very much 😃🫰❤️🙏
You’re so sweet! ❤️❤️🫰🫰🥰🥰
I'm an Asian American and the only one in Malaysia living here for the past 28 years. Never looked back and will stay here and not go back to Seattle
Really!? We do eventually want to visit Seattle 😅. That says a lot right there. Thank you so much for sharing 😃❤️🫰🙏
Why?
Why.. what are doing here? Malaysia is jungle and water...green, lake river and ocean. Too peaceful. Your life will be too calm like you are trapped in heaven!!!
@@myraizara2398 I’m living the life
I miss Pike Place though. Used to drive up from Eugene, OR in the 90s during college days.
"Malaysian" = The Malays, the Chinese Malaysians + Indian Malaysians (who are born & bred here for generations) and other local tribes. So when u say "Malaysian food" it includes all these food from these ethnicities. So perhaps u meant "Malay food". There's a difference between Malay & Malaysians. Many foreign travelers make this (understandable) mistake thinking it's the same thing. Malay is a race, Malaysian is nationality
Yes! I Meant Malay Food. Sorry about that 😟. Thank you for being so understanding 😃❤️🫰🙏
Everything is so new to us and we never expected to visit Malaysia but we’re very happy we did! We’ve been missing out for a really long time. Appreciate you taking the time to explain it in such a polite manner 🙏🙏
Please do not forget the minorities that make up Malaysia (not only Malay, chinese and the indian) i.e. .. Thais, the original people of West Malaysia and the dayaks/people of the land (i.e. bumiputra) in Borneo Island.
@@amanshahosman9082 I already said "other local tribes". Do u want me to list ALL OF THEM?? There are dozens of them. I have to google if I want to list all of them😅
@@kopxpert sorry , I didn't read all the comments before posting mine thought. My apology
No worries! 😁
I can't believe this, Malaysia has the most amazing food. Markets, and street food and you guys are sitting in a shopping centre at a western franchise eating wraps and coffee!
😁 Yes! We initially came to celebrate our wedding anniversary which was just a short 36hr trip to our very first time in Malaysia. As much as we should’ve tried local dishes, market and street food. We were in the mode of celebrating our special time and taking in the beauty of the country that we kind of lost track of time. Before we knew it, it was already time to go 😅. Cool thing was, we had a great time and will be back very soon. Definitely planning to try some local dishes this time! 😁
They tried Durian ice cream though 😅 Albeit at super touristy Pasar Seni 😂😂😂
😂😂😂 Yes we did! 😁
@@ChovyTravel avoid pasar seni and try going to outskirts of kl because central kl is a big trap for tourist
Icic! Appreciate the heads up! Thank you! 😃❤️🫰🙏
The KLCC park next to the Twin Towers has a big ass playground as well with a big kiddie pool and ALL FOR FREE of course. Because of these kind of things that made people say, if u want to party, go to Thailand but if u want to enjoy great family vacation, go to KL/Malaysia :)
Really!? That’s awesome! So KL is very family friendly. Come to think of it… We did actually see a lot of families at the mall.
Welcome to Malaysia!
Superb English from both of you.
Enjoy your stay in Malaysia!
Thank you so very much for the welcome 😃❤️🫰🙏

It’s True! 😉 Thank you so very much! 😃❤️🫰🙏
Love your reaction on this video and thank you for coming to Malaysia! If you’re thinking of coming back to Malaysia and looking for streets full of local foods, try to go to Kampung Baru (you can take the LRT and stop at Kampung Baru station) 😊

one thing that sets KL apart from BKK is the language barrier in Malaysia is far less ans most people speaks english
We did realize in KL, their ability to communicate in English is rather impressive! It made our first time trip a very pleasant one to get around. Also, a lot of places accept credit card which is a huge plus 😃❤️🫰🙏. We can definitely see ourselves living here. Lastly, the people in KL are Amazing. So sweet and polite.
@@ChovyTravel In Malaysia (or KL) if u find someone (20s-40s) who can't speak or understand basic english, they are LIKELY foreign immigrants from other asian countries.

I would have to agree even if you can’t communicate in English. There’s gestures, body language and kinetic energy to communicate. We definitely did experience that in certain local areas in Thailand for sure 😉😁🫰❤️🙏
Guys, head to Penang (Island). If anything, I believe Penang is a mini Oahu that is cheaper and has better food. I love Penang so much, I got my visa and just bought a full oceanview condo for my retirement between Bay Area, California and Malaysia. Malaysia is highly underrated. English widely spoken, no guns, a medical care tourism destination, no earthquakes/hurricanes, super friendly folks, good infrastructure, favorable exchange rate, and last but not least awesome food. The street hawker foods are where it's at guys, not the mall cookie stands!!!!

eh... Malaysia is a mixture of many ethnicities, but 3 main races are Malay, Chinese and Indian.
There are many foreigners set foot here.
Hence, food wise, we are sort of cater for all cuisines around the globe.
If you gotta pick Malaysian foods, go for Chinese (non Muslim food choice), Malay foods & beverages which are Muslim Halal of non-porky, no alcohol, Indian foods are also non halal.
Some staper f&b marking Malaysian style - nasi lemak I.e. coconut milk cooked rice, with some local spicy gravy called sambal, and some simple sides, some places you can see pictures.
Signature local toasties with coconut base jam called Kaya with butter cutlet, it can do for steam Kaya Butter bread too.
Staper drink Teh Tarik = pulled tea, Milo = chocolate malt milky drink. local coffee we call it Kopi in malay or locally, it can be without milk Kopi O , with milk just Kopi, all drinks can order Less Sweet/Less Sugar like I always do, in malay just says "kurang manis".
Another staper is Roti, people might be calling it flying pan cake😅, Roti has many variety so it depends what do you want, simplest plain one call Roti Canai, with Egg call Roti Telur, telur is malay language for egg, you can have Roti banana at some places too😊
List is too long 😂😂😂😂
Wow! Thank you so much for taking the time to recommend and explain everything! 🥰❤️🫰🙏 Really appreciate it! Definitely will come in handy when we revisit Malaysia 😁

Ogosh! Are u aware of how English fluent most Msians are?? Frm just ur vlog the young pple u interacted with t are so English language eloquent!!! Surprising! 😮
We didn’t really know much at all about Malaysia/Malays. Definitely in KL, it is very easy to communicate as a lot of people are able to speak English pretty well.
English is being taught in Malaysian schools as a second language, Bahasa Melayu being the official language. Most Malaysians can speak mininum 2-3 languages, with some able to speak and understand different dialects of a certain language.
Plus we also have small kids who speak English with an accent (i.e. my niece) thanks to youtube 😅
It’s really impressive!! 😊👍💯
English is the second national language in Malaysia. That is why you see many visitors are praising our ease of communications with tourists
That’s really great that they do that in Malaysia.
Here there r malls that have archery range, surfing pool, mini zoo, vegetable patch, skydiving, bowling lanes, arcades, go kart, batting cage, futsal court... Try visiting One Utama, IOI city mall putrajaya, Berjaya Time Square

Hey guys. Just want to share a bit of info. Chinatown in KL is kinda underwhelming compared to the ones you have in Western countries because Malaysia or KL has a huge Chinese population. So their populations are spread out all over the country. There isn't much of a concentrated Chinese area. There is also a huge Indian population here. So you will see tons of Indian food as well spread all over the city. If u r looking for street foods, go to Jalan Alor instead or Kampung Bharu if you are looking for Malay food. Also Malaysians usually mean Malay + Chinese + Indians. The same thing as in America, Americans means White + Black + Latino + Asians and so on. Malaysia is very diverse racially. The Malays are the majority population & the Chinese & Indians are the minority but sizable population. The Chinese & Indians have been here for hundreds of years & many are born here, they aren't immigrants (Well most of them anyway). When u mentioned Malaysian food, I believe u meant "Malay" food. Also KL doesn't become alive until night time because people want to avoid the heat 😂. The Bukit Bintang area are very2 busy during night time, it has somewhat of a Times Square vibe. Anyway welcome to Malaysia & enjoy your stay. ☺️☺️☺️.
Wow! Thank you so very much for taking the time to explain to us in clear detail! 😃🫰❤️🙏!
Also, we really appreciate the recommendations 🫰🫰❤️❤️🙏🙏
Malaysia is Amazing! Upon arrival, we were speechless 😶. It’s so beautiful and such a hidden gem of a country. Very Unique, diverse and we truly find it fascinating. We will visit again for sure! Next time, we definitely want to go experience more local vibe, cuisine and etc. 😁 Thanks Again! 🙏
@@ChovyTravel Your welcome. And don't be afraid to ask around for recommendations from the locals next time. Malaysians on average can speak pretty good English, so u can get by better than most other Asian countries.

😃🫰❤️🙏 That’s definitely a huge plus 😁
If you're into street foods, do go to Jalan Alor which starts at around 6pm. It's the most happening food street in Kuala Lumpur. I'm glad that you discovered the new luxury TRX Exchange Mall. Enjoy Kuala Lumpur, the foodies paradise of the world!😊
the worst tourist trap you are recommending this two ignorant American to go to at Jalan Alor.. Jesus Christ..
I won't recommend jalan alor. Too expensive
Thank you so much for the recommendation 😃❤️🫰🙏
We had a great time in Malaysia and plan to revisit but for a longer period of time 😅. Thank you for your kind words 😃❤️🫰🙏
Ic. Where would you recommend?
@@ChovyTravel Jalan Alor over the years have become pretty touristy, but having said that, it’s worth a visit at least once. There are some good food around but you’ll need to ask the locals (not the vendors) what’s good.
If you are into street food, maybe you can go to taman connaught night market instead. I’ve never been there, but heard it’s not bad. Not just for the food but also for the night market vibe. I’m not sure if it’s available every night, so do check online or ask around

Thank you so very much! We really appreciate the love and welcoming 😃❤️🫰🙏
Thanks for your love in Malaysia. First of all, whatever food you see there, although it says Indian food, but those are already part of Malaysia cuisine, just like what you said American indian food, its not the india kind of indian food anymore.
8:30 i have to mention that thise white coffee that you see on shelves are quite over-marketed for me, the one that i personally like the most are the one that cannot be easily seen on any of the shelves, if you have a chance for some days in Ipoh, a place with lots of good malaysian Chinese food, and you should try the Chang Jiang White Coffee over there

Interesting observation about Malaysia vibing with California, Hawaii & Korea. I was greeted with aloha when I visited California years ago 🤣🤣🤣. I'm Malaysian, btw.
That’s how it really felt like. It’s so beautiful in Malaysia!
Really!? 😂😂😂
If you have a very Malay face or if you look Chinese but with darker complexion, then you definitely look like Hawaiian 😂
😅 Nowadays there are so many Asians that look so similar. It’s getting really hard to identify who’s what race anymore. Especially ones who travel a lot 😅
So many foreign youtuber I see give Central Market a miss. This one only shows a front entrance. Despite it being a popular tourist spot. I wonder why that is.
We thought Central Market was great! We got to do a bit of shopping and we would definitely go back. It definitely seemed like there were both quite a lot of foreigners and locals.
23:25 When you say Malaysian, you're actually referring to ALL the citizens of Malaysia. The main ethnic groups in Malaysia are made up of Malay, Chinese and Indian. Food wise, you're in Malaysia, some call it a food heaven... please don't go to a cafe and have food which you can get back in the US. ;-) Our street food is amazing. You are spoilt for choice, you have Malay, Chinese and Indian food for you to try. For Malay food, you can try our nasi lemak or nasi kerabu. FYI nasi lemak is Malaysia's national dish. For Chinese, you can get char koay teow, asam laksa, curry laksa, and for Indian, look for restaurant that serves banana leaf rice, or nasi kandar. There's really too many to list here. For easiest option, go to any food court in the mall. You'll see lots of local food options. However, the food courts may not serve the best foods Malaysia have to offer. But they will give you an idea of what's available.
Wow! Thank you so much for the info! That really helps us grasp the understanding of Malaysia. So many food options 🤤. We really need to plan our next trip 😁
The malay, chinese and indians are all malaysian. Because there is different from china chinese and indians from india so abit tough
Got it! It’s very fascinating. I guess it’s similar to like Americans.
There are Asian-Americans, African Americans and etc.
@@ChovyTravelThe difference is that the chinese and indian are still chinese and indian. In terms of language, culture and food etc. Thats why in addition to English, you hear Mandarin, Cantonese etc
Totally makes sense! 😃

Hi, for your info, if you would like to travel the whole of Malaysia will take around 2 to 3 months... different states will give you a different atmosphere and culture..
100% Agree! We’re so fascinated with Malaysia that we do want to go back and explore a lot more for sure. It’s so beautiful and amazing! Thank you so much for sharing 😃❤️🫰🙏
if you want try malay vibes u can go to kampung baru andvtry nasi lemak wan jo and many more mwlay dish
and if u want chinese go to jalan aloy m if u want indian mix malay go to kedai mamak..thank you
Thank you so very much for the recommendations/breakdown of everything! Really appreciate it! 🥰❤️🫰🙏
@@ChovyTravelya. FYI KL's Chinatown isn't a real Chinatown. It's only so named for touristy purposes. In actual fact, KL used to be majority Chinese.
Ahh Icic! That makes sense!
Oh really!? Didn’t know that! 🙂
Charming couple, likeable !i smile throughout the vlog.
Thank you so much for your kind words 😃❤️🫰🙏
You guys are so adorable!!! Welcome to Malaysia, Truly Asia. :)
You’re so sweet! 🥹❤️🫰
Thank you so very much 😃❤️🫰🙏
Malaysia is Gorgeous!
Go to Kampung Baru, KL for Malay streetfoods. Nasi lemak, nasi campur, malay kuihs all there.
Got it! Thank you so much for the recommendations! Appreciate it! 🥰❤️🫰🙏
Guys, you only see one side of Malaysia. You should get some locals to host you around Malaysia. You will experience more...we have island vibes, city luxury vibes, local vibes, historical vibes, food heaven vibes and etc.
Very True! We definitely will be going back in the near future 😃
KL is the melting pot for all, so you see mix of people and that include the legal and illegal immigrants.
Beautiful Country filled with Diversity! Love it! 🥰🥰❤️❤️🫰🫰
@@ChovyTravel Yes, thank you, but illegal immigrants are a problem and a threat. So, you must be careful around, not all people are Malaysian and tourists/expats in KL. The illegals are known to scam and open up shops/stores/restaurants, make research before buy something or hiring services.
Got it! Thank you so very much!
Appreciate the heads up! 😃❤️🫰🙏
What's best about Malaysian food is the fusion. Can get Malay, Chinese and Indian food found only in Malaysia as they considered as local creation and cannot be found in other places. Nasi Lemak, Laksa, Char Kuey Teow, Rojak, Cendol, Banana rice indian curry, Bak kut teh
Couldn’t agree with you more! So True! Love the diversity of the Country in itself, the people and the cuisine! Amazing! That’s why we had to come back and intend to go more often in the future 😁. One of our best decisions, to visit Malaysia. 🥰🥰❤️❤️🫰🫰
Welcome to Malaysia and thank you for loving Malaysia❤
Thank you so very much for the welcome and it’s our absolute pleasure! 😃🫰❤️🙏
Malaysians are very kind and helpful . So local gps is actually everywhere.. so as long you open the mouth, ask anyone on the streetz and tell your needs, you will immediately get to find food, places and anything... Trust me...
We definitely got that our very first time there for sure. 100% Agree! Just ask and they pleasantly answer and go the extra mile to help 😃
Malaysia is family friendly country. If you're single it is really boring. If you bring your family, you going to have a great time. Especially if you go to the islands like Langkawi, Redang or Perhentian.
Very Nice! It seems wonderful for a couple too! Thank you so much for letting us know! 😃❤️🫰🙏
Malaysia is really a beautiful country!
Thats a really small 5-star room, never stayed but good to know through your video :D lol
Think you’re right! It was a little on the smaller side but it was actually pretty cute and good enough for us 😁
Thank you so very much! 😃❤️🫰🙏
Bumiputera 62.5% (Malays and indigenous peoples, including Orang Asli, Dayak, Anak Negeri), Chinese 20.6%, Indian 6.2%, other 0.9%, non-citizens 9.8% (2019 est.) The World Factbook, the indispensable source for basic information. I’am one of the Malays People 🙌🏼💕😂
Thanks for the explanation! 😊👍
I agree with most of the comments. Your content is fun to watch, not too aggressive and always calm in commenting. May you have fun while in Malaysia. Bring the good things back to the US, the bad things stay in the trash at klia, right?😂😂😂
Thank you so very much! 🥰❤️🫰🙏
Really appreciate it! ❤️❤️🫰🫰
We can’t wait to revisit! It’s definitely a country we are truly starting to love for sure! 😅
Hello from San Diego! Now I’m just watching all your videos. You both are so nice, and not pretentious at all. I appreciate that. Again? Have to say I love how you both really try lots of food!
Hello! Thank you so very much! 😃🫰❤️🙏 SD! I could go for some Tacos El Gordo 😅
Really appreciate the love and support!
🥰🥰🫰🫰❤️❤️🙏🙏
Actually you can take the train (ERL) 28 mins directly from klia2 to le Meridien KL
Oh really!? Thank you for the Tip! 🥰❤️🫰🙏
Actually it is not China Town, it is just Petaling Street. There isn't really a China town in KL but it is more easy for people to recognise that place
Really!? It definitely resembles Chinatown 😅
Makes sense, it would be easier for people to recognize it.
Welcome to beautiful malaysia. Enjoy your stay and yummy food.
Thank you so very much for the welcome 😃❤️🫰🙏
Ah, how refreshing. I like tourist that have no idea what we have to offer. It's great that you went to Central Market first. Most tourist just went straight to Pavillion or KLCC.
Btw, we love food. That's why we have lots of food here. And yes, there's a lot of dessert type of foods. We Malaysians have separate stomach for sweet food.
And that ratio 25% of tourist? That's because you went to a tourist specific mall in the middle of city center. There's too many mall in Kuala Lumpur's suburb alone, we locals don't bother going into city center to shop.
Come again and spend more time, we have lots to offer, especially outside of KL
Thank you so very much 😃❤️🫰🙏
There’s a ton of different food options and dessert for sure 🤔
That makes total sense. Next time we go, we definitely will look into some local spots 😁
Thank you so much for the invite back 😃❤️🫰🙏
If you take bus klia to kl sentral more cheaper.. 12-15 myr only
Really!? Oh wow! So Cheap! Thank you for letting us know! 😃🫰❤️🙏
Red box will be a karaoke place, but they serve food too...
OoO that’s cool!
From the 2023 data, the breakdown of Malaysian population is 65% Malay, 24% Chinese, 7% Indian & 4% others
Actually, it is 55% Malay and 10% indigeneous people. Malay only 55%
@@leealex24 dude look like chock the data base 😀👌
@@leealex24 what the hell i dont hear u soeak chinghcvjjcibai
@@leealex24Latest statistics in first quarter 2024 : Bumiputera : 70.1%, (Malay : 57.9%, other bumiputera 12.2%), Chinese :22.6%, Indian : 6.6%

It’s very interesting! Thank you for the breakdown 😃❤️🫰🙏
Welcome to malaysia, hope u will enjoy your stay here
Thank you so very much! 😃❤️🫰🙏
I don't know how many times I've heard 'Not bad!" 😄Anyway, enjoy Malaysia guys!
😂 That’s because it’s really not bad/pretty good! 😉
Thank you so very much! 😃❤️🫰🙏
Appreciate it ❤️❤️🫰🫰
In Malaysia, most nice places will serve your drinks less sweet because drinks at regular restaurants are really sweet, that u have to learn to order with "kurang manis" or less sweet. It's a National campaign.
Icic! We are definitely getting used to and also starting to prefer less sweet drinks nowadays 😃. Thank you for letting us know! 🥰❤️🫰🙏
We are still experiencing hot weather in Malaysia since few months ago.
Please keep hydrated and cool whenever you can. Enjoy your time here.
Icic! It was very hot!
Thank you so very much 😃❤️🫰😃
The vast different experiences of mostly 3 + 1 types of tourists;
- Ones with healthy budget. Easy and pleasant interaction with everyone. You guys are this type. Nice.
- Ones with healthy budget but cautious. Most us fall into this type.
- Ones with shoestring budget but sub divided: a. Accept the fact that their budget suits to their spending
These kinda tourists are easy. Accept everything as long as healthy and good manners. OR
b. Unable to accept their budget gives them subquality services and goods/foods. These people are personas nons gratas of any country they wish or been to.
- The ultras…who keeps their leisure and displeasure to themselves. Silently enjoying or silently leave if not to their liking.
😂 you guys rock!
Thank you so very much for your kind words 😃❤️🫰🙏
You sound like an expert that have encountered/experienced all types of foreigner/tourists 😅
@@ChovyTravel Expert am not but involved literally with tourists on daily basis.
Can smell old and new money miles away.
Can tell cheapskates and the classy ones by just looking they way they walk.
Huhuhu
😂 “Experienced” would be more fitting, if not Expert 😁
The one you ride were not the mrt.. it lrt..
Ahh! Sorry! Thank you for letting us know! 😃🫰❤️🙏
Hello! New subscriber here. I like the two of you talk to each other. Enthusiastic and willing spend a lot on food. I like that you rate everything. ❤
Hello! Welcome to the Chovy Fam! 😉
Appreciate such beautiful compliments 🥰😃🫰❤️🙏
Americans are always impressed in Asia with the most basic things. Like hospitality. They are so unused to good hospitality
I think because great hospitality/customer service is such a lost art in the states. There is a lot of hostility in the states and it’s so refreshing to be in an atmosphere where we don’t have to deal with that!
Welcome to Malaysia! Christine's is the place I would go to if I wanted some bagel sandwich.
Thank you so very much 😃❤️🫰🙏
Makes sense! Their Bagels are really delicious. I’m not even a bagel fan but thanks to the employee that helped us. We chose the bagel sandwich and glad we did 😁.
