Great teaching, Carole! Eric, we love you, and you wanted to learn those specifics really well because you love and have passion for everything Art. She did an excellent structure well thought out lesson with plenty of visual aspects. Perhaps having her relax for her presentation without too rapid questioning right at the begining? She did a great job of not letting the interuptions get her of kilter. 🎉❤
Brilliant! Carol you're an amazingly talented teacher. I really appreciated your instructions on what to focus on. Thankyou from Geelong, Vic, Australia
I just learned more in one session about drawing heads than in my whole life put together! PS. I’m 81. Go figure! Thank you, thank you, thank you, Eric for featuring Carol Peebles. ❤
Is there a reason why there is never contact info (social media stuff) for the teacher? I realize this is your channel but in addition to the 50 links to your sites it would be helpful to link to the presenter to learn more about him/her.
I was taught to use your tip of your thumb and the first knuckle to represent the first quadrant like she has on the card. You always have your thumb with you.
Good stuff Carol and Eric. Yes, we do appreciate your questions Eric, but I don't think folks watching this video of Carol's are still stuck at the "stick figure stage" of portrait drawing and painting. LOL. One of my favorite descriptions, don't know the you tube artist, but they called out "doing the muzzle of the person first, before adding the lips". It's very descriptive cuz some folks certainly do have a "muzzled look" to them. LOL. Also, some of my favorite lines from Sargent who, as we know from historians, had a love-hate relationship with his models and portraiture. It did make him a lot of money, so there is that. He said that doing portraits is "how I lose friends", also "a portrait is where you get the model's nose wrong". A male client once said of a portrait Sargent painted of his wife: "It looks like Hell, ..but it looks like you"! Nice guy! Last one is a lady client who said that Sargent made her "look ten years older, were the good Lord to grant me those years". ;D Yes, I use the skewers for the sight measuring sticks too, and Eric, I also use chop sticks to stir up a pot of gesso, ..but then, for nothing else!! LOL Fun stuff, happy painting everyone!! :D
This was amazing!!! 2 Questions- When she says at the end to do life size- do you actually measure the model’s head? Also- are her portrait demos 8x10? 9x12?
Eric's constant questioning was quite annoying. This is easy knowledge that can be obtained from a variety of different books and tutorials. I couldn't finish this video because of the constant disruption.
The poor lady had to give the same answer in 3 different ways with every question.

Eric you are numbing it up. Poor Carol, what patience
Huh?

He stepped all over her demo. Let her teach.
Cheekbone and tip of the nose! Thank you! This allows me the ability to better position my portrait drawings.
Both of you were great! Thank you so much for a valuable lesson and understanding!!!
Video.... That's a great idea Eric
Thanks for this artist art class

Absolutely so informative
Thank you so much loved this demo

Put me down for the DVD!
Its all relative...not everyone face is an exact alignment .
So glad she has explained this so well..he takes away from the lesson....
Gosh he's annoying....
Observe, observe, observe. Most people never really look at a face and then wonder why they can't paint a likeness.
Would appreciate Carol's website and email addresses

Interruptions were soooo annoying and got in the way.
I know your interruptions were well intentioned Eric but they got to be disturbingly disruptive. Maybe have her back again.
What a wonderful teacher! I have picked up so much information that will help me with my portraits. Thank you!
These constant interruptions are irritating and disrespectful to the artist. Not helping anyone
