I wish Eric would have let Carol just do her presentation without so many interruptions. I know he thinks he was being helpful, but I found it distracting and annoying.
Almost a 4 minute lead in is a bit much too. It feels stuck in tv time from the past, attempting to emulate that format with an intro & what not. Instead, they should embrace the raw & direct opportunity found in streaming as a new communication tool.
Wow! Wow! Wow! Carol, you are amazing! I've done many portraits in my our career, but I always struggled to get that likeness. I get it in the end, but I wind up with a lot of stress. I'm looking forward to learning from you, and how to do that with ease and grace?
Eric doesn't seem to understand that the original measurement is from the actual human model- like sight-size- then move onto the paper. He's making it much more confusing than it is. I am a beginner but I understood the original explanation better before all the interruptions. She really helped me understand something I've had trouble with as a novice. Sometimes it's better to let someone complete their thoughts before asking questions. Then go back and get clarity. Carol is an excellent teacher !
It would be nice if she were allowed to finish a comment before a question…save a question until after she discusses her point and THEN demonstrates and then a question. Harder to follow with so many starts and stops. Thank you Carol for your time and help!
I agree with the others that Less interruptions would have been nice. I had to fast forward every time Eric spoke. Going to check for more vids on Carol in uninterrupted action.
I agree with those who were irritated by all the interruptions. I eventually stopped watching the complete video because I just could not get the continuity of the lesson. Carol had such valuable information, but the constant interruptions ruined it for me.
Just searched the whole net to find any online classes with Carol but sadly there were none. Please please do some Carol. This was soooo helpful and I’d love to learn more from you.
Carol is really teaching a new way of seeing! Such a beautiful and clear explanation on how to challenge our old habits and learn concrete skills. This was super helpful!
I can appreciate that Eric thinks he is being helpful but his interruptions are annoying. I guess he thinks speaking to the lowest common denominator is good but that’s what the pause and rewind buttons are for. Thanks very much to Carol for her patience and expertise!
Would have been nice to hear this without the irritating questions. Everyone in the world got what she is talking about except you. This is the basic form of drawing, surely you should know that by now. Or at least you could have informed yourself ahead of time so that half of the presentation wasn’t spent listening to your repetitive questions.
Exactly. a person who didn’t understand would say - hmmm, maybe I will come back to this when I have the basics- or admit it’s over their head and move on. I come to this channel to get advanced teaching, if he continues to treat artists this way I won’t be returning.
Eric...what a gracious and talented guest artist, but you interrupted her so much with YOUR experiences, which took up her valuable time. It would have been nice to respect Ms Peebles and let her express HER expertise and zip your lip more!!!
This would have been a great video without the interruptions. It is not clear. Is this a video of a conversation between her and you or is this a presentation by an expert. All these interruptions undermine the presenter and devalues her as an experienced artist. It gives the impression that she is incapable of carrying on her presentation without all these interuptions. It brings into question abilities. He is taking up more air time than the guest presenter. I would not come back if I were her.
This was very difficult to watch. I was very interested in her approach and was enthusiastic to watch this video. These questions didn't make any sense. Her explanations were straight forward and easy to follow. There should be a follow up video to allow her to convey her method without frequent interruptions.
Hi Eleisa, thank you for your kind comments. Please join me at Realism Live on the first day, beginners prep and eventually I will get my own online classes. It's in the works. Please see my atelier website BlueEaselClub.com and come join us! Happy Drawing!
I wonder what she didn’t share because she was afraid of being interrupted again. I don’t understand why he did that to her. I’ve not seen him to this to other artists.
THIS IS AWESOME! As a wildlife artist, I look at details in faces ... but the explanations on drawing them have always been very confusing ... Carol has given me the best explanation ever! THANK YOU!
If someone cannot understand her lesson without the interruptions, they should not feel ashamed because learning is on a spectrum, but they r not ready for this particular challenge. I would avoid attempting to make every lesson/video/artist accessible for every viewer at any skill level.
Yes, Eric, if you possibly could, just let the artist speak for herself and we will follow her. It is very disruptive to have you popping in to comment. Your job is done when you choose the artist and you choose exceptional ones. Let them speak for themselves. Thx.
If you're going to the trouble of having a guest expert on, give them the opportunity the provide their expertise without all the interruptions and without repeating everything they said after they've said it. It was incredibly annoying - I'm so glad I found Carol but this didn't convince me to subscribe.
I like his questioning because he is trying to ask the questions that a novice would ask aka me. Any teacher must have the patience to answer the questions or else they are just doing a demo.
This presentation had a lot of great information in it; however, I wish that Carol would have done a demonstration along with the props to better explain it. But still, I enjoyed the demo, especially since it was free of charge ;)
I just took a barbecue stick with a wide end for a label (or handle in this case) and marked off a quadrant like she used, and a 3 part like the other scale
Wonderful Demo! Carol Peebles’s portraits are fantastic and it is such a treat to see her break down the process into simple steps. Thank you for inviting Carol to this series!
Loving the Art School online show. Great teaching by Carol, such a pity about the constant interruptions. It was not helpful. Carol is very clear... I would really love to see another demo by Carol with Eric just listening while she speaks and shows her method of finding the likeness.. Love the show but the constant interruptions disturbed the flow of the lesson and wasted a lot of time...
Very informative but the one thing that you can avoid doing is every time you stop her to ask a question, you do not have to apologize, and explain all the time why you are stopping to ask a question, This habit is very annoying and a waste of time. Just ask the question please.
I just want to thank you for the amazing opportunities that you lend to just starting artists established artists to learn more and it's free thank you so much
This was lovely! So helpful I will be watching it a second time. I can't wait for a longer session. I am from Baton Rouge, Louisiana so may have to take a detour through New Orleans the next time I visit!
I wish Eric would have let Carol just do her presentation without so many interruptions. I know he thinks he was being helpful, but I found it distracting and annoying.
Yes i was just about to say the same
Some hosts dont want to feel sidelined, and they think letting guests take over is one way of getting sidelined
Almost a 4 minute lead in is a bit much too. It feels stuck in tv time from the past, attempting to emulate that format with an intro & what not. Instead, they should embrace the raw & direct opportunity found in streaming as a new communication tool.
Carol you are a great teacher ! Thank you so much. Love from India ! So grateful for your ideas
Thank you! My favorite contemporary Portrait Artist is from India, pramod kurlekar !! I hope you know him. His portraits are amazing. Happy drawing!
Wow, she’s an amazing teacher!
Thank you 🙏 keep drawing ✍🏼
I couldn't finish watching, as I found your constant interruption enoying. She was explaining everything, it didn't need you to keep interrupting her.
Wow! Wow! Wow! Carol, you are amazing! I've done many portraits in my our career, but I always struggled to get that likeness. I get it in the end, but I wind up with a lot of stress. I'm looking forward to learning from you, and how to do that with ease and grace?

Great teaching. Thank you so much!

Hello From Brisbane Australia……love your show and ‘your’artisits…thank you 👏
This definitely is something I need to learn better!
I'd love to see a pastel demo by Carol Peebles
thank you! I will be doing a video with streamline soon! Happy Drawing :-)
Hello from beautiful Phoenix, Arizona! 🌵
incredible ❤️❤️❤️
How long is the quadrant sheet?
Geweldig....super
It would be nice if she were allowed to finish a comment before a question…save a question until after she discusses her point and THEN demonstrates and then a question. Harder to follow with so many starts and stops.
Thank you Carol for your time and help!
Thank you ❤
Seriously.
His questions helped. She would often plow on without clearing up his questions so he had to interrupt.
I agree with the others that Less interruptions would have been nice. I had to fast forward every time Eric spoke. Going to check for more vids on Carol in uninterrupted action.
Thank you 🙏
It would be wonderful to watch her draw a portrait in real time and teach as she goes along
Come to the blue Easel Club in New Orleans ❤
I agree with those who were irritated by all the interruptions. I eventually stopped watching the complete video because I just could not get the continuity of the lesson. Carol had such valuable information, but the constant interruptions ruined it for me.
E Rhoads just wont be quiet
Just searched the whole net to find any online classes with Carol but sadly there were none. Please please do some Carol. This was soooo helpful and I’d love to learn more from you.
Thank you ❤I plan to do a video with streamline video soon!
Carol has the patience of Job.
Carol is really teaching a new way of seeing! Such a beautiful and clear explanation on how to challenge our old habits and learn concrete skills. This was super helpful!
Thank you 🙏
Too many trivial questions and interruptions! She is good, let her talk next time please1
I can appreciate that Eric thinks he is being helpful but his interruptions are annoying. I guess he thinks speaking to the lowest common denominator is good but that’s what the pause and rewind buttons are for. Thanks very much to Carol for her patience and expertise!
Thank you 🙏

I wish she wasn't interrupted every second so we can learn but wow Carol is really patient and professional...
Thank you 🙏
Eric...what a gracious and talented guest artist, but you interrupted her so much with YOUR experiences, which took up her valuable time. It would have been nice to respect Ms Peebles and let her express HER expertise and zip your lip more!!!
Learned so much how to space out the anatomy of the skull and their relationships; excellent teacher carol peebles!
Thank you 🙏 happy drawing ✍🏼

Omg how tiring for her he wouldn’t let her finish a sentence. Couldn’t finish watching he got to my nerves.
I’m bummed. I can’t get to a live class of hers and I can’t find any online class or video. I absolutely love her teaching.
Hi Eleisa, thank you for your kind comments. Please join me at Realism Live on the first day, beginners prep and eventually I will get my own online classes. It's in the works. Please see my atelier website BlueEaselClub.com and come join us! Happy Drawing!
Eric, You have a fantastic program! Thank you for this fantastic interview!
Yes, Eric is the best! Thank you Eric!
What a spectacular teacher! You brought up so many good points to drawing a portrait. Thank you!
Warm Regards,
Martina❤️
Thank you ❤
All the interruptions are so annoying I wanted to stop watching. The guy would do well to remember that interruptions are RUDE.
I wonder what she didn’t share because she was afraid of being interrupted again. I don’t understand why he did that to her. I’ve not seen him to this to other artists.
Agree. Condescending to her. I find him pompous always, but his interaction with this artist was especially rude.
THIS IS AWESOME! As a wildlife artist, I look at details in faces ... but the explanations on drawing them have always been very confusing ... Carol has given me the best explanation ever! THANK YOU!
thank you Dolores :-) Happy Drawing!
Eric, please let Carol finish her own statements. You are too interoggetive and it irritates!
If someone cannot understand her lesson without the interruptions, they should not feel ashamed because learning is on a spectrum, but they r not ready for this particular challenge. I would avoid attempting to make every lesson/video/artist accessible for every viewer at any skill level.
Great tutorial, Carol Peebles! Thank-you for using the anatomy terminology, and specifics for measurement guidelines!
You are welcome 🙏 happy drawing ❤
This was such a good teacher that your questions got in the way! Usually your questions are helpful but not this time!
Yes too many interruptions. Wait longer and come back to summarize. Try counting to at least 180 before interruptung again.
Yes, Eric, if you possibly could, just let the artist speak for herself and we will follow her. It is very disruptive to have you popping in to comment. Your job is done when you choose the artist and you choose exceptional ones. Let them speak for themselves. Thx.
Such great tips, thank you so much, Carol! Can't wait to apply everything that I have learned.
thank you Rona! Happy Drawing!
I have to agree with previous comments. I think Carol explained everything very clearly. Eric’s interruptions were totally unnecessary and annoying
If you're going to the trouble of having a guest expert on, give them the opportunity the provide their expertise without all the interruptions and without repeating everything they said after they've said it. It was incredibly annoying - I'm so glad I found Carol but this didn't convince me to subscribe.
Thank you Carol. That's a great measuring tip. You were very patient with Eric who was particularly annoying during this interview. 👍
Thank you ❤
Great presentation but we could do without the constant interruptions by Eric
Great job Carol! Impeccable knowledge and abilities.
Thank you ❤and happy drawing ✍🏼
I like his questioning because he is trying to ask the questions that a novice would ask aka me. Any teacher must have the patience to answer the questions or else they are just doing a demo.

תודה רבה 🙏
Thank you 🙏
Thank you, Carol and Eric! This is my second time reviewing this lesson, and I feel more confident to work on my portraits again.
Thank you Karen ❤
An excellent lesson! Thank you! I would really love to know what kind of paper Carol uses?
Strathmore, Canson and for pastels Colorfix Paper. But any paper is good, just practice! :-) Happy Drawing!
Too many interruptions by Eric.
This presentation had a lot of great information in it; however, I wish that Carol would have done a demonstration along with the props to better explain it. But still, I enjoyed the demo, especially since it was free of charge ;)
thank you :-) Come study with me in New Orleans! Happy Drawing!

Wonderful Demo! Carol Peebles’s portraits are fantastic and it is such a treat to see her break down the process into simple steps. Thank you for inviting Carol to this series!
Thank you Sarah ❤
This is great! This process makes so much more sense to me! Love it Carol! Yea...road trip!
Thank you 🙏
Hi there I am a TikToker.. I would be happy To review your glasses to the art Community on TikTok
I disagree with with you as Eric ask Carol pertinent questions, .by him asking these question that in turn answers some of our questions
Thank you ❤ he was as enthusiastic as me 😊😊
Thank you Carol you are a wonderful teacher.
Thank you ❤
Thank you 🙏
So glad I found this video. Can't wait to apply some of these tips. I am a new fan. Thank you.

Thank you to Carol... looking at figures first . Your portraits are great! And mother and child wow!
Thank you 🙏
Loved this, thank you! Carol is a rockstar!
Many thanks 🙏
Perfect! Been needing this for many months. Thank you Eric as well for sponsoring this.
Yes! Thank you Eric! ❤
Agree with the other comments that this was really nerve wracking because he would not allow her to do what she came there to do.
I loved the whole demo but the comment Carol made offhand about keeping her kids toys around was what touched me most.
how sweet! I miss them. thank you 🙂
I am an avid watcher from the small rural town of Lyndonville in western NY.
Most of us are not having trouble following her, but the constant interuptions are a problem.
Wow, Carol. Just amazing tuition . Do you have any u tube demos??
Thank you Carol! The information you've shared is invaluable! Fantastic demo!
Thank you 🙏 and happy drawing ❤

I would so love to take a class, I wondered if you have an online class
Fantastic info Carol. Thanks Eric for introducing her to us.
thank you and happy drawing
Wow, it really helps to see the proportionate feature detection.
How does Eric have a book on being a high level figure and portrait artist when he seemed so confused on the entire process of a portrait lol. 🧐🧐
Confused. Thats me :-)
OMG great video....I gave up trying but this has inspired me to try again....
That warms my heart ❤Happy drawing ✍🏼 always draw from life…it brings great happiness
I just want to thank you for the amazing opportunities that you lend to just starting artists established artists to learn more and it's free thank you so much
Yes, it is so important what Eric is doing ❤

Sorry. :-) Lots of questions popping up in comments.
Where does one get a Quadrant guide? Are they just blank labels?
Thank you great class.thank you.
