That is one nice looking IT right there. I love that you have yellow brush guards on there instead of the original blue ones that they came with. That extra pop of yellow really looks great, and the custom pipe on there is sweet looking. I had a 1986 IT 200 and loved it back then. You have taken yours to another level, and it is awesome.
I had an 86’ IT200 S myself and dammit I wish I’d have kept it, boy what a runner and with that cushy 80’s seat 100 mi rides were a breeze. I had 85’ YZ250 suspension on it along with some motor work and a pipe. 3rd gear roll on wheelies we’re a breeze. I embarrassed plenty of new bikes with little trail rocket. At 216 lbs it was a featherweight.
One of my favorite old dirt bikes I've had had it 250 mine was just dirt no blinkers had the headlight and tail light also had a tt250 which was a four-stroke both of them bikes were Bulletproof but the iT was definitely my favorite
They were great I had an 86 too, last year for the IT. I put suspension and CDI box from an 85’ YZ250 on it, ported, pipe. That bike was so perfect for the woods, I had buddies buy everything up to a KX500 trying to catch me. They thought power was the secret, no, nimbleness is the trick. Damn I miss it, take care buddy,
@@deborahchesser7375 nice sounds sweet I just sold a absolutely mint XR 400 with full lighting kit keyed ignition built by Ex motocross racer who past away sold it to Kaplan at Kaplan cycles look up the video very cool I bought a mint WR250r wanted electric start lol
@@markkus1134 I’d love to have had the XR and WR’s are great too, yes either would be fantastic. I need to start riding again I miss it terribly. Take care
Had the IT 's in 175H, 250K and finally the 490K and the 490 was something special, foolishly I then purchased a 1985/86 worked YZ490 and hated it so much that I sold after one ride.
Hell yeh I’d buy one 2maro air cooled, drum brakes and all what a sweet color combo too. I had an 86’ IT200S last year for the IT and man do I miss it. 85’ YZ250 suspension, motor work and full exhaust she was a quick little bike and hard to catch in the tight woods. But yeh, $4000 out the door old school technology and everything.
Too nice to ride on paved roads. This is a real.offroad bike. Perfect size. 200 is ok...490 too big..like the 250.Sounds awesome. I drove Suzuki Pe's and kdx's back in the mid 80's.
That’s one gorgeous IT I need another one, reliability is no sweat for these.
Just saw this what a cracking bike fantastic job
Thanks
Dave
Thank you glad you liked it 👍
@ do you still have the bike?
@ No Dave I sold it back to its original owner from Dubbo NSW.
I had a brand new 1983 IT 250 what a great bike it was wish I still had it ! You did a great job with this one .
Cool thing is you can street ride any 2 stroke 86’ or before.

Timeless ride absolutely beautiful and just as capable as many new bikes today
Thank you
Your so right, I had an 86’ 200 with 85’YZ250 suspension, motor work by me, pipe etc. I smoked new bikes on the daily, it’s all in the wrist.

Beautiful IT my brother had a 1986 200 here in the US loved that bike!

Looks and sounds great Vercs!
nice bike sounds like a awsome build
Couldn’t help notice the Brian Collin’s sticker. Bought my first YZ80 J from that store in 1982 in Parramatta.
Top guy Brian and yes Collin’s corner was an empire back then that’s for sure.
sounds perfect
It's finally come together, looks Brilliant. well done. 👍
Cheers mate👍

I had, PE175, kdx 175 and 200. 85 kdx 200 is a really good offroad bike.
ITs were amazing bikes - Yamaha would bring them back they would sell.

I see you are running without the top engine mount!
Sharp bro.
I would like to rip this. Bigger than 200 but easier to handle than 490 in tight areas.Perfect size enduro.
Awesome
How much would that be worth now?
These are great looking bikes from the 70s to the 80s they were still making aircooled motors in 1984 before two stroke dirtbikes became water cooled
I still have my '83 IT250K
That is a K, Yamaha only made 490/200L very nice example though
@@nickyshaw2592 wrong 84 only had 3 models to buy 200L 250L 490L i owned one same as this guy its on the compliance plate google it
