Another awesome review as usual. Years ago back in the machine shop we always talked about how those hub-less designs were a death-trap, because those Heavy-Load bearing-rollers weren't designed for high-speed. We suspected in short time that the hub would develop a severe run-out wobble. They look awesome but with what I know about bearings you'll never catch me riding one.

Love Billy Lane, remember watching the discovery channel with my dad as a kid watching him. It’s been cool to watch his UA-cam channel seeing that he’s still stoked on bikes.
My favorite thing about your UA-cam page and every video you bring the word of God into it! what you’ve done behind scenes for so many people and their UA-cam channels is truly incredible! I remember when you guys started in PA I’ve been here since the beginning and still enjoy every episode now, with saying that you and Craig really have inspired me to break down my YZ 450 and work on it I still haven’t fixed it but now I know how to diagnose it, keep up with the maintenance, It’s the valves I still haven’t fixed it because I’m really not a mechanic, but I’m learning!
I always enjoyed watching Billy build a bike and the engineering that you put into them was always so unique to me, awesome bike builder and he seems like a pretty humble guy!
I remember watching all the build offs. Billy was definitely one of my favorite builders. This bike was badass back then and 20 years later still is. It doesn’t give off “what was he thinking” even after all this time.
I learned of Billy Lane 25 years ago, I fell in love with his designs, style and craftsmanship. When I wanted to purchase a bike from him he was unfortunately and sadly MIA. I'm stoked he resurrected his company and himself and that he's still going strong mentally and physically! Billy Lane 💯 Badass!!!
He was not MIA, he was in jail. Due to him killing a man riding a motorcycle with his factory sponsored Dodge truck, while driving drunk with a suspended license.
Billy is an absolute legend & such an all around good guy who just so happens to build bikes that are actually meant to be ridden & used! Yeah they're all show quality, look insane with all the little details etc but the quality of the materials, welds, the whole set up front to back custom hand built by Billy are in a league of their own! Rare you find a builder / bike that looks as good as his do, all the parts are hand built and custom fit to each bike/his standard and also are built to such a high level , yet are meant to be ridden hard & thoroughly enjoyed! He's in my top 5 of greatest builders/fabricators of all time! It's so cool how his bikes look like they do, even this one with the custom wheels etc you could throw some gas in it & just go as far and fast as you want too. I'd love to meet him, see some of his bikes & his shop, then be fortunate enough to go for a ride on one of his bikes, def a dream day/ride!

@@Mr.Unimpotant🫵🏻🤡 he did his time..
That's a work of art. Im glad Billy Lane gets his recognition. He was always the coolest and real builder on old Discovery channel
Thank you for that
Hubless wheels would look really cool on something like a Sportster S.
Make it look more futuristic like a bike from Cyberpunk.
We can tell that bike is a smooth ride the way you are talking and riding with both of your hands on and off the handlebars. Thanks for posting.
It's a pretty smooth roll
Another awesome review as usual. Years ago back in the machine shop we always talked about how those hub-less designs were a death-trap, because those Heavy-Load bearing-rollers weren't designed for high-speed. We suspected in short time that the hub would develop a severe run-out wobble.
They look awesome but with what I know about bearings you'll never catch me riding one.
It's been 20 yrs.. seems ok.
@@hed1fsu Nah, from what I've seen on other's vids over the years, it's the reason Billy kept having to redesign and the reason he keeps selling off his bikes.

wow ...that is an absolutely gorgeous bike!!!

Love Billy Lane, remember watching the discovery channel with my dad as a kid watching him. It’s been cool to watch his UA-cam channel seeing that he’s still stoked on bikes.
I've been doing this since I was a teenager, still as stoked now as I was then
My favorite thing about your UA-cam page and every video you bring the word of God into it! what you’ve done behind scenes for so many people and their UA-cam channels is truly incredible!
Amen
I always enjoyed watching Billy build a bike and the engineering that you put into them was always so unique to me, awesome bike builder and he seems like a pretty humble guy!
Billy Lane, a celebrity motorcycle builder, was charged with DUI manslaughter and other driving offenses after a fatal crash in 2006
I'm working on a video making another of these now. Thank you for your thoughts
I remember watching all the build offs. Billy was definitely one of my favorite builders. This bike was badass back then and 20 years later still is. It doesn’t give off “what was he thinking” even after all this time.
I've always tried to use timeless lines and ideas, thank you
The hubless Billy Lane bike is by far the cooler bike! I'm so jealous and happy for you to get the opportunity to do this.
Congratulations!
Nice comment, thank you. I'm glad Sean got to ride it
I learned of Billy Lane 25 years ago, I fell in love with his designs, style and craftsmanship.
@liamcastle1992 I'm well aware
That's incredible .

I didn’t know about Billy Lane’s past before watching this. Now that I know I still don’t care, it’s not like he’s running for president. An artist who’s made mistakes is still an artist, only better.

I remember watching those build offs in the late 90s. I was always in awe of the hubless setup, it's so unique and bad ass I absolutely love that bike!
Looks like the kids plumbed the fuel system.....
How crazy. Last week I went down memory lane watching some biker build offs with Billy, reminiscing and checking out his channel. A week later you post this video, and Billys there. Keep it up!
LOL, " WAH I CANT TURN THE GAS GRIP " , ah you aint riding far, man up, okay " i will just muscle thru it " lol

I had always thought Billy's hubless wheels was something he just purchased and incorporated into his builds. I had no idea he has an engineering background and built it himself! Amazing!
This is hands down one of the nicest bikes I have ever seen!!!! Perfection
Thank you. I have the best one of these in my shop now.
110% the hubless bike is WAY WAY sweeter than the Geico bike in every way possible. Not to count he built that entire bike from beginning to end all on his own. THATS ARTWORK!
Thank you
It's probably the coolest thing just to even meet.Billy lane.Let alone talk to him about one of the bikes he built. He really is one of the best builders in the world.
*2:25** I guess... but I've seen better fuel delivery on a beater Honda.*
Seriously what's up with that trail of brass and Teflon tape? I assume the petcock broke the night before the video shoot and they had to hustle down to the hardware store to get it running again.
Biily is such a down to earth guy. He had his troubles in past and served time for it. But, he grew from the experience and didn't let it define him in the wrong way.
I am from 🇮🇳 and Billy lane is a legend globally. His hubless bikes are well known but more so because he actually builds them and rides em. He is the best of both worlds and he is a hall of fame in many bikers globally. Love his bikes. More power to Billy ✊ King of Cool, Old school 🤜🤛
That’s definitely one of the baddest builds. Billy knows how to build killer bikes.

Without doubt the hubless. Two bikes I'd love to ride, the hubless and indian Larry's chain bike.
I didn't get to ride the Chain of Mystery, but I did ride Grease Monkey. What an honor.

I still have a soft spot for choppers. The other day I saw someone riding a SAXON and forgot all about that brand. Some nice looking bikes from a while back. This King of New York is a true beauty and sounds just right!
I like how if the chain breaks, you not only can't go... But you can't stop either.
and i could see that happen if you lean to far left.......but i think you would be stopping pretty fast while sliding on the pavement
That would keep nagging me while riding it all the time. I would at least want a front brake too.
I've been riding since the 1980's, I've only broken one chain in all those years. And I ride every day. That said- if the chain breaks...
@@BillyLaneChoppers It would be cool to have a giant rotor on the inside of the hub hole though...
I worked at a shop in central Texas called Hays County Cycles, and we had a Bobzilla there! I’d never even thought it could be ridden until I got to take it out for a spin after servicing it. I met Billy and Buckcherry there while they were riding to Cali.
8:30 😮 come on throw a piece of chrome in that hole lol
Yeah the owner kind of let it go, wonder how that got lost.

I remember several years ago standing on the curb at Daytona's Main St during Bike Week and some guy came riding by on one of these. Had me completely confused as to what I was looking at which was the case with pretty much half the stuff you'd see at Daytona ha!. I've got a few clips of it in my Best of Bike Week video including Billy Lane on another bike. Caught Indian Larry going down Main St standing on his bike but have been unable to find that clip on my VHS tapes. I sure do miss those days at Daytona.
