I gave up with math when I was young. When it became difficult, and didnt come intuitively, I began to develop a certain disdain for it. This happened to me when I was in first year University. I changed my career path and became a lawyer. I'm now a Prosecutor. However, I came across your videos, Professor. I became hooked almost right away. I've watched all of your Calculus 1 and 2 videos - stopping them at my leisure to find and complete other practice problems found all over the internet. NO ONE has ever had the ability to teach me this material like you have. You are exceptional at what you do. Thank you for bringing back a passion I once had, but let slip away.

Your other subjects have saved me like you would not believe. I got an A in Calc 3 and you were HUGE part of that achievement! I was lost so many times and at 2 am, 10 am, 5 pm, ect, your videos were there. And Patrick JMT. Lol. I would watch your videos over and over and take notes upon notes on your videos. When I saw my final clac 3 grade, I literally began weeping. I got a B in linear algebra and was really upset. But, I'm sure your future linear viewers will be so grateful for your videos.

Linear Algebra!!! Professor, you've been a game changer! Not gonna lie... With my college teachers that don't score attendance, there have been multiple days where I've made the decision that I would be better off just watching your videos instead of going to class. Not condoning skipping class but I do realize that each personal learning experience is different and your videos are by far more logical and detailed then anything I've experienced in class. Everyone I come in contact with that struggles with math.... I direct them to you. I used to think that math was difficult but never had someone break down in the way you do. I continued through calc 4, and stats carrying a 4.0 for all classes and it's 100% because of your videos. Truely, I do believe that your videos and the fact that they follow along with my school's curriculum has been a revolutionary concept because I can watch your lecture before class and show up with a very good understanding of the topic with already pre-thoughtout questions. I don't think there is any complete substitute for in class instruction and face to face teaching but using your videos as a pre-class instruction has changed the way I interact in the classroom and the questions I ask. It makes the classroom time more valuable to me. Your focusing on "why" things happen has also been extremely helpful! I am currently back in school pursuing a data science degree and I can't help but think that you teaching skills and passion for quality is something special that could change the way we teach on a greater level and should be shared with the world.....
I recently finished my 6 week Cal 1 class, after Acing my regular semester Pre-Cal class. I didn't find your channel until about the 2nd-3rd week of the course. First I thought my instructor was a terrible teacher because he just regurgitated the book, verbatim. Then, I tried to rationalize that he was just an introvert. He just didn't care and didn't want to teach a summer class. I should of dropped him when he stated that he wanted to take the summer off but throughout my life I tend to quit things too quickly, so I took the torment. First exam, I scored an 80% and the second exam a 75%. I was filled with so much doubt as a math major. But I kept at it. I kept watching your lectures, learning and doing as much as I can with math work. My Cal class became an obsession, I had very little sleep and math entered my dreams when I scrounged up the few hours of sleep I was gifted. As for my final, I scored a 97.5%! I barely obtained enough for an A in the class: 90.27%. Ill be honest though, my foundation is still shaky since it was a summer class and I barely had enough time to review anything before moving unto the next concept. I will review the whole class for the next 2 weeks until I start my Cal 2 class and hopefully jump ahead in Calculus 2 with your lectures. I want to thank you for saving me in more ways than one. I bought a shirt to offer my support. You deserve so much more than a thank you. I doubted myself during my class and the only other person I care about doubted me as well. I'm just speechless. Thanks so much and I hope, one day, I could repay you by offering what I have to humanity in the future. P.S. It would be nice if you could delve more into related rates and optimization problems. You are a diamond in the rough, as an instructor, and your detail in explaining things is outstanding. I'm a stickler for precision and your teaching method compliments it. Most of my class, including myself, had problems with related rates and optimization. Thanks again. John
You may just end up one of the most important figures in math history. No where else is there such a large collection of lecture series available online, for free, at this level of quality, and the more people who are able learn these fundamentals of mathematics, the more who will be prepared to think about it in advanced ways, and to apply it to problems unique to their fields. I really think they're going to be putting you in math history books somewhere down the line for the access you've granted people to these lessons.

You are such an inspiration and you have personally restored my confidence with mathematics. For so long I had so much self doubt when it came to working with math. Prof Leonard: Great job. You are definitely helping the community. Your advice on the textbooks are right on. The publishers and / or schools have made a business out of it releasing new editions every 2 or 3 years. I also have a suggestion if you could accept it. I would like for you to use mathematical softwares (Open Source like Python Libraries as a visual validation of the graphing sections) that would also promote some visualizations of mathematical objects. Linear Algebra!!! Professor, you've been a game changer! Not gonna lie... With my college teachers that don't score attendance, there have been multiple days where I've made the decision that I would be better off just watching your videos instead of going to class. Not condoning skipping class but I do realize that each personal learning experience is different and your videos are by far more logical and detailed then anything I've experienced in class. Everyone I come in contact with that struggles with math.... I direct them to you. I used to think that math was difficult but never had someone break down in the way you do. I continued through calc 4, and stats carrying a 4.0 for all classes and it's 100% because of your videos. Truely, I do believe that your videos and the fact that they follow along with my school's curriculum has been a revolutionary concept because I can watch your lecture before class and show up with a very good understanding of the topic with already pre-thoughtout questions. I don't think there is any complete substitute for in class instruction and face to face teaching but using your videos as a pre-class instruction has changed the way I interact in the classroom and the questions I ask. It makes the classroom time more valuable to me. Your focusing on "why" things happen has also been extremely helpful! I am currently back in school pursuing a data science degree and I can't help but think that you teaching skills and passion for quality is something special that could change the way we teach on a greater level and should be shared with the world.....

I recently finished my 6 week Cal 1 class, after Acing my regular semester Pre-Cal class. I didn't find your channel until about the 2nd-3rd week of the course. First I thought my instructor was a terrible teacher because he just regurgitated the book, verbatim. Then, I tried to rationalize that he was just an introvert. He just didn't care and didn't want to teach a summer class. I should of dropped him when he stated that he wanted to take the summer off but throughout my life I tend to quit things too quickly, so I took the torment. First exam, I scored an 80% and the second exam a 75%. I was filled with so much doubt as a math major. But I kept at it. I kept watching your lectures, learning and doing as much as I can with math work. My Cal class became an obsession, I had very little sleep and math entered my dreams when I scrounged up the few hours of sleep I was gifted. As for my final, I scored a 97.5%! I barely obtained enough for an A in the class: 90.27%. Ill be honest though, my foundation is still shaky since it was a summer class and I barely had enough time to review anything before moving unto the next concept. I will review the whole class for the next 2 weeks until I start my Cal 2 class and hopefully jump ahead in Calculus 2 with your lectures. I want to thank you for saving me in more ways than one. I bought a shirt to offer my support. You deserve so much more than a thank you. I doubted myself during my class and the only other person I care about doubted me as well. I'm just speechless. Thanks so much and I hope, one day, I could repay you by offering what I have to humanity in the future.
P.S. It would be nice if you could delve more into related rates and optimization problems. You are a diamond in the rough, as an instructor, and your detail in explaining things is outstanding. I'm a stickler for precision and your teaching method compliments it. Most of my class, including myself, had problems with related rates and optimization. Thanks again. John
You may just end up one of the most important figures in math history. No where else is there such a large collection of lecture series available online, for free, at this level of quality, and the more people who are able learn these fundamentals of mathematics, the more who will be prepared to think about it in advanced ways, and to apply it to problems unique to their fields. I really think they're going to be putting you in math history books somewhere down the line for the access you've granted people to these lessons.
I would like to personally take time out to thank you Professor Leonard for the time you spend laboring on your craft. You are such an inspiration and you have personally restored my confidence with mathematics. For so long I had so much self doubt when it came to working with math. But after investing several weeks into your online lectures. I am much more confident in my ability to rationally think and solve mathmactical problems. Thank you sooo much! Prof Leonard: Great job. You are definitely helping the community. Your advice on the textbooks are right on. The publishers and / or schools have made a business out of it releasing new editions every 2 or 3 years. I also have a suggestion if you could accept it. I would like for you to use mathematical softwares (Open Source like Python Libraries as a visual validation of the graphing sections) that would also promote some visualizations of mathematical objects. Unfortunately, I need to take linear algebra next semester because I don't want to mess up my college plan, so I will miss your great videos and explanation. I hope you consider discrete mathematics or numerical analysis in the future.
(On a side note: Please make sure all your new videos are subtitled because a lot of hard-hearing engineering students, like me, rely on your videos so much. Also, I don't know, if this is possible, but I hope you can do something about the calculus 3 lectures because none are subtitled and I have to rely only on what you write on the board and the inaccurate transcriptions my phone generates to understand.)
