Just here to say thank you so much. Failed my first Calc 3 exam but soon as I started watching your videos I been getting 95+ for the past two exams. Thank you Professor Lenoard!!

Professor Leonard: I commented this already, but I might as well say it again. Right before COVID started, maybe it was December 2019, I was walking into my PreCalc teacher's classroom as a sophomore in high school to ask him a question about something. I remember right as I was about to leave he was laughing at something. I came over to his computer and he said "Isaac, come look at this." It was a meme involving derivatives. Now as a math person, I was intrigued, but I couldn't understand the joke. "What's a derivative," I asked my teacher. He said "you'll learn about it either next year or the year after, depending." But I was determined: I had to find out what was so funny. So I went home and got onto my laptop and went into UA-cam and looked up "derivatives/what's a derivative" and some professor from an Ivy League school with a really thick accent was talking in tongues, but I didn't stop. I found your channel the 2nd time around after looking for a while. I took an old composition book I had laying around and decided to just start writing EVERYTHING that you were saying down. It started on Lecture 0.1, on lines and angles I believe. It didn't matter that I thought I already knew about this stuff, but I just kept writing and kept going through every lecture, until I got to derivatives. It took until Calc 2 on your channel for me to understand a joke involving e^x, but it was so worth it. It had only been a month. I had been coming home from school, doing my homework, and then just binged all your lectures until it was really way too late at night. So I got the joke, but I figured, "why stop there, this is actually really interesting." So anyway, I walked into my math teacher's classroom after I finally understood the joke and said "I GET IT NOW!!! LMAO". And he was like "what?" "Oh, the joke from last December," I said arrogantly haha. And I smacked these 2 composition books full of Calculus onto his desk and was like "WABAM." He said, "wha---", and then he backed me up saying, "yeah sure, KEEP GOING!!!" So I did. June 2020 popped around and I was finishing Stoke's Theorem... your last Calculus 3 video. That next year, I took AP Calculus BC and aced everything, got a 5 on the AP Exam. I Forrest Gumped Calculus basically. Anyway, I graduated early and am tutoring Calculus at a local community college as a part time job. Imagine that, all from wanting to UNDERSTAND. THANK YOU SO MUCH PROFESSOR LEONARD!!! Best teacher ever (don't tell my other teachers)
Honestly, that was so wholesome to read imo. Started off with something relatively small event which snowballed into a fruitful journey. It is great to see that having a great teacher (whether in-person, online, or just youtube videos) can make a difference!
Professor Leonard, I took a big risk, but I have not gone to my calc 2 lectures this semester. Instead, I’ve relied heavily on your calculus 2 playlist, and it has worked out!! My professor is awful, so I’ve had to have you as my professor. And I’ve done well in all of the assessments so far. You have such a far reaching impact on us students, I am so thankful for you. Congratulations on your new baby girl! God bless you professor Leonard
oh my god I'm actually tearing up seeing you after all this time... the things you've taught me and in just the beautiful manner you have in your approach to teaching is just simply amazing Professor. I'm now in college studying cs and math because of you...thank you for all that you've done and I wish you the best in all paths... may mataji bless you and your family... happy navratri
your videos are amazing, got a 64 on my first calc 2 test and was just generally lost, then i found your channel and got a 97 on the second one. thanks very much.
My parents built my home. I always dreamed of building my own home. During the last two years I’ve been working full time as an engineer and then Once I’m done with my last two years of college and have a couple more years of engineering under my belt I’ve excited to start my own home. You should upload build videos.
When I missed weeks of calc 1 and went through the biggest tragedy of my life you taught me when nobody else could. Your videos have been a valuable resource for every student I've ever had. I still watch them myself to make sure I don't miss anything in lecture. Thank you for the impact you've had on my life, and the hundred of thousands of students whom you've helped achieve their dreams.
You have been amazing! I used to be failing Calc 2 the beginning of this semester, but then after watching your lectures, I actually have a chance of passing! I really like how you make sure everyone knows the material and recap the material (recapping being the most important). You've been awesome! And you even build houses??? Man of many talents!
Huge congrats, Professor! Both on building your own home and having another daughter! I don't say it enough, but you are one of the greatest math professors out there; your ability to describe and work through problems is just amazing. It's so easy to follow and it has helped me--and from reading the comments many others--so much. Keep up the great work!
Hello Professor, I am your fan from the beginning of my mechanical engineering major (2016). This spring semester, in 2023, is my last semester to graduate. I am very grateful for what you have taught on this channel. Every single word in your lecture has a extremely meaningful value to me. I want to say thank you for your dedication in so many years. I love you Professor. Leonard. You are my hero.
I’m in the middle of taking calculus 2 and funny enough I actually had an exam today. I spent the last two weeks watching your videos nonstop and I’m on track to get a 95%. I give all of the credit to your math videos because without them I don’t know how I’d make it through. Thank you professor Leonard!
You were the only reason I could do Calc 1, 2, and 3 online. You were also my only professor while I took those courses. I can’t thank you enough for what you do, you are an amazing person and I wish you luck on building the house.
I'm currently taking up Computer Engineering and I cannot thank you enough for all of your lectures, you don't actually reach the extent of our topics like Laplace, but since you teach the basics in such a delicate and concerned manner, I am so glad I got myself founded on your teachings. It made me atleast understand even a little bit of these really complicated and mind-boogling math problems. I'm so grateful for you. You were with me from my College Calc 1-3, and now as I'm doing my Engineering Mathematics I rely on you still. Just finished reviewing again your lecture on partial fractions. I love how you don't WITHOLD INFORMATION, you don't ASSUME THAT WE REMEMBER BASIC ALGEBRA, and how you don't LEAVE US, ABANDON US TO FEND FOR OURSELVES. You give us no reason to fail, that's how you teach. Thankyou, You are truly a teacher, not just a powerpoint reader, notes reciter, or test giver. You are truly a teacher.
I think that he should include the Laplace Transform in his "Differential Equations" playlist, which he is apparently still working on - that transform is incredibly useful for lots of differential equations, and it is even used for a lot of _partial_ differential equations, so it is highly relevant; and the Fourier Transform as well, for that matter, which is a very similar method.
I have a lot of respect for anybody willing to take on the challenges of building their own home. When I was a young teenager, I would help my grandfather build homes and I never appreciated how much knowledge he accumulated by doing it himself, and the pride of saying we built this house. As an adult, i wish my wife and I had built our own home because when you do, your house ceases to be a number on somebody's project list. It is done as a one-off, and because you're doing it, you'll hopefully make sure it's done right. The homeowner is usually the last one to cut a corner when they are building something for their family. Good on you and I hope your family is healthy and well. May the Lord richly bless you, your family and the work you are doing at home, and in academia.
So happy to hear your great news. You should start a homesteading channel! Congrats on your build and your family and thanks for the update. Professor Leonard rocks!
Glad you are well! I am a senior citizen former math major and teacher. I am retaking Calc 1 and 2 to be able to tutor others and also to keep my brain functioning. Couldn't do this without you! You explanations are clear and complete. You give lots of examples and you clearly love your students. Thank you!!!!
Congrats on all the milestones you’re hitting Prof. Leonard. You’re so cool, you didn’t even owe us an explanation but many people, myself included, were definitely wondering where you were. Glad you’re healthy and safe and living a fulfilling life outside of making sure we pass college math class!
Life gets in the way some times, I am so happy to see how successful the project has been and hope that it works all as planned, soil settlement is a concern for all civil projects but this looks awesome!! Hope things continue to be good for you and congrats!
I cannot thank you enough for allowing anyone who wants to understand math have access to your lectures. While attending community college, I started learning math and followed these lectures starting from calculus one through ODE. During this time, I decided I wanted to be a mechanical engineer and was heavily encouraged to take an easier path with lower qualifications. I did not take this advice and substantially raised my GPA to gain acceptance to a tier-one engineering program. Your lectures directly contributed to my changing from someone who did not complete high school to someone who is finishing an engineering degree with a job offer. Educators who freely share their instruction, like yourself, absolutely make the world a better place. Thank you.
I notice everyone in the comments letting Prof. Leonard know the impact that he had on their lives, so I thought I'd contribute: Took me from being a mathematically challenged individual returning to school at 29 and feeling hella insecure to someone who received a math minor and is now a PhD candidate at MIT. Would NOT have been possible without you, Professor! The real MVP
@@LaymensLameMan You've got this! Paul Hewitt who was a Physics professor and author of Conceptual Physics did not start community college until he was 28. His life experience gave him an edge over the 18 year old hotshots who were not as intentional with their education. The textbook and his story inspired me to pursue a science education at 24.
Thank you Professor for all your help during my freshman year.....and thank you for the update...I wish you all the best in your home building and looking forward to see your new office....

He said, "wha---", and then he backed me up saying, "yeah sure, KEEP GOING!!!" So I did.
Reading that was a bit weird cause almost the exact same thing has happened to me, except Im tutoring highschool students.
Beautiful story! Thanks for sharing.
Honestly, that was so wholesome to read imo. Started off with something relatively small event which snowballed into a fruitful journey. It is great to see that having a great teacher (whether in-person, online, or just youtube videos) can make a difference!
THAT'S AMAAZING lol they should make a movie about this
Thanks for the replies everyone! And yes, I made it sound all theatrical, but this is actually what happened.
What risk? Biggest risk would've been if you did quite the opposite.
do they not take attendance in your universities? wow
oh my god I'm actually tearing up seeing you after all this time... the things you've taught me and in just the beautiful manner you have in your approach to teaching is just simply amazing Professor. I'm now in college studying cs and math because of you...thank you for all that you've done and I wish you the best in all paths... may mataji bless you and your family... happy navratri
your videos are amazing, got a 64 on my first calc 2 test and was just generally lost, then i found your channel and got a 97 on the second one. thanks very much.
amazing job!!!
My parents built my home. I always dreamed of building my own home. During the last two years I’ve been working full time as an engineer and then Once I’m done with my last two years of college and have a couple more years of engineering under my belt I’ve excited to start my own home. You should upload build videos.
That's not a bad idea! I have a few friends who want me to help build, maybe I'll start recording that :)
@@ProfessorLeonard That would be so amazing!
@@ProfessorLeonard That would be awesome! I want to build my own home as well in the future.
@@ProfessorLeonard That is a profitable business too 😎
@@ProfessorLeonard Just do it!
Congratulations Prof. Leonard! Your house looks awesome! Beautiful surrounding too. I hope you and your family will have wonderful stay. best wishes!
Bro are born to be angel of those who suffered maths/calc, Bro even discussed the whole book
Iloveyou prof hope no one ever forget you
Congratulations to you, your wife, your kids and everyone!! It’s so good to hear you report all good things 🎉🎊🎉🎊
Years after graduating college, I still talk about you. I graduated with a maths degree. Thank you.
Your videos on Calc 2 helped me tremendously many years ago! Out of Calc 1, 2, and 3, I’ve found that 2 was the hardest (for me).
This guy is a lifesaver. He helped me go from a D to an A+ in Cal 2!! Continuing to help me as I begin teaching math. Thank you Prof Leonard!
wow that's amazing, good for you!
What a role model. Thank you so much for what you do. And congratulations on the house. Looks great already
I'll be getting my degree in Computer Science this May, all thanks to you! Absolutely carried me through undergrad math. Wish you the best!
I think that he should include the Laplace Transform in his "Differential Equations" playlist, which he is apparently still working on - that transform is incredibly useful for lots of differential equations, and it is even used for a lot of _partial_ differential equations, so it is highly relevant;
and the Fourier Transform as well, for that matter, which is a very similar method.
It’s great to hear from you! You helped me through my math classes in college. I’m glad to see you doing well.
We love you Professor Leonard, God Bless you for all the help you give students.
So happy to hear your great news. You should start a homesteading channel! Congrats on your build and your family and thanks for the update. Professor Leonard rocks!
Congratulations Professor. I aced my Calculus exams thanks to you.
Good to know you're doing well. Congrats for your new baby, professor Leonard!
Congrats on all the milestones you’re hitting Prof. Leonard. You’re so cool, you didn’t even owe us an explanation but many people, myself included, were definitely wondering where you were. Glad you’re healthy and safe and living a fulfilling life outside of making sure we pass college math class!
Hello Professor Leonard, watched most of your Calculus lectures a few years ago, it's been a while!
I really love you profesa for you help ....God bless you....love from kenya
Hi Professor Leonard, hope you and the family are doing well. Happy Holidays
You are the best teacher ever!! Congrats on the house, new kid, and wish you the best.
Nice to see you again, Prof!!!
Life gets in the way some times, I am so happy to see how successful the project has been and hope that it works all as planned, soil settlement is a concern for all civil projects but this looks awesome!! Hope things continue to be good for you and congrats!
Holy cow! That's impressive! And congratulations!
The MVP of college math professors. If only I had a teacher like you throughout my entire studies.
Leonard know the impact that he had on their lives, so I thought I'd contribute:
Took me from being a mathematically challenged individual returning to school at 29 and feeling hella insecure to someone who received a math minor and is now a PhD candidate at MIT.
Would NOT have been possible without you, Professor! The real MVP
I’m 28 returning to school. Your testimony is really encouraging for me.
That is very inspiring 🙌 👏. Keep it up!!
@@LaymensLameMan you got this!!
How's your PhD going? And also might I ask what you're researching?
@@LaymensLameMan You've got this! Paul Hewitt who was a Physics professor and author of Conceptual Physics did not start community college until he was 28. His life experience gave him an edge over the 18 year old hotshots who were not as intentional with their education. The textbook and his story inspired me to pursue a science education at 24.
congratulations,, im proud of you.
What?! This is incredible Professor Leonard. I am sure this will be a very rewarding once it's done 🎉
Thank you Professor for all your help during my freshman year.....and thank you for the update...I wish you all the best in your home building and looking forward to see your new office....
Damn prof, you're not only an amazing teacher, but you're also good at building stuff. House looking nice
The house looks amazing even if it’s not finished!! Thanks for the update Leonard!!
Good luck with everything in your life. I'm finished with college but love the math videos and have watched many hours. You have such a relaxing way of teaching that whenever I am stressed I watch one or two hours of your lessons. Maybe in the future you can give us a tour of your new house. I fully understand why you will not give the location, I would not either.
Professor Leonard, thank you much for this awesome video about your life and what's happening. I will be watching more of your videos here in Baltimore City, Maryland.
For 8 years I worked for USPS as a MHA and watched your videos before going to CC to then transfer to a 4 year to John Hopkins university to my EE degree, the amount of stress and barley amount of sleep I had to endure then pretend to even be in any good mood was hard, but I did it!
Grinning from ear to ear about this for you! You are the reason I passed calculus 1 and 2 and I gained the analytical skill I use in my industry job now. I hope you get all the joy you have spread in tenfold with your new achievements in life.
Congratulations Professor Leonard! You're one of the best math teachers I've ever had.
Beautiful Home. I love people who can grow, cook, build and repair things from scratch-so organic! I hope to learn how to fix e-bikes!- I am 62 years old, back in school working on a master's in data science. Your videos are so useful and helpful. I wish you would post the textbooks you use. I think I figured it out but that would be helpful. Good luck with finishing your house. I helped my dad remodel our house growing up. Many good memories of my father because of that! Moments I will always cherish and now miss!
wow! your work looks great, hope all is well.
Thanks for helping with my BA in mechanical engineering!
i remember watching this when he first posted i cant believe seven months have passed by so quick by far 2022 is the fastest year for me... I've never felt a year go by so fast like this one
Mr Leonard you taught me calculus 1 way back at Merced college and you were the best math teacher I’ve had to date. I went on to knock cal 2 and 3 and will be getting my bs in computer engineering this coming year. Thank you for help and you’ve made a huge difference in lots of people lives
“I really need you to understand…that you’re amazing professor!” You and Those words always took the stress from the concepts I was learning
Dear Professor, I don’t know how to thank you. You have changed the way math used be for me. I am loving it day by day as i watch your lessons. Thank you and may god bless you with all health and wealth. You deserve all the happiness and blessings.
You literally carried me through Calc classes. You can take all the time you need.💯
I have been away from this channel for some time, but I'd like to thank you for ALL your videos, because without you, I could not have become a Mechanical Engineer after serving in the Marine Corps for 12yrs.. You got me all the way up to E-Math at FAU.. You're the man!! Thank you 🙏🏽 and Happy Thanksgiving today 🦃..
What is the order you suggest to study his playlists?
@klajdikaca994 Calc1, Calc2, then Calc3.. Then, differential equations..
Being the best math professor and being able to build a house on your own is insane LOL
Just wanna say you help me SOOO MUCH tysmmm I’m so grateful
Woah, even just chatting to us, I still feel like I am learning a tremendous amount of knowledge
...I went through all my years of schooling up to my BBA and doing fairly well in math, trig, and statistics but have not been able to grasp calculus... When i look at all the steps and order of operations it's like looking at a dense forest from afar and deciding how and where to enter it!
Got through Calculus during a Computer Science degree program all thanks to him. Guys, if The Professor helped you, go hit up his Patreon. Stop reading this and go now. I did it as soon as I passed my Calculus class in 2020; like the same day, and I'm still contributing.
Professor Leonard, I pray for you and your family that you may be blessed more than you have blessed us with your excel lectures and guidance. Good bless you! And much love from a grateful student.
You doesn't realise this but you making everyone's day batter! Honestly, this channel was ❤️
A big thanks to all the people who have been sharing their stories about how Professor Leonard impacted their lives. They're really inspiring and motivational. Also thanks to Professor Leonard for all the hard work providing all this high level and high quality education for free! Best wishes to everyone.
Hope all is well!
Congrats on the new build and expanding family. You are truly a God send. You have made my journey towards Physician Assistant school less stressful. I am almost done with my pre req and I put off taking Algebra because, Math. But with your concise lessons I am almost at the finish line. Many thanks sir.
When is the 'How to build a house' lecture series coming out?
Love you and all your classes, dude! They helped me alot!
Cheers from Brazil, wish you the best.
Actual gigachad.
Thank you Prof. ..I will forever remember you for the foundation in Calculus and Statics. .Kenyan is Watching. We love you.
Congrats Professor Leonard!! I’m looking forward to the “building a house” series 😂
I am a final year student university of The Gambia, but you have been my lecturer. Thank you so much i am grateful and you are the best. I love you prof leonard
Congratulations on the pregnancy professor.
Thank you!!
Your videos helped me pass college Algebra after 10 years of not being in school. Just donated to your Patreon! Thank you so much for all your help :)
i'm not even being dramatic when i say you save people's lives. i hope you'll be back soon.
Great to see u after so longgggg ....!
So the best math teacher in the world can't afford a contractor? The best basketball player on the other hand...
Professor I am still using you videos even after I finished all calculus courses to review some topics that I have forgotten. Thank you for everything. After a couple of years I didn't come back to see your videos because I thought I was done with calc. but I guess we can't escape from you lol. Hope to hear from you soon.
Thank you for everything Professor Leonard. Good to know all is well. Are you planning on doing linear algebra?
Yes please! I second this! I would love a linear algebra series! Thank you for everything you do professor!
Thanks for the update Professor.
Lots of love for you and your family.
Stay safe and I hope you’re loving your new house.
