I'm new to your channel & I must say, your son & daughter must be very proud of you. Special thanks for all the extra effort you put in, so that we can watch it too. Very well done & thanks for posting.
Aww, thanks Ashley. It’s fab to have their support on my adventures. My daughter came up my last Munro to celebrate too while my son did his part by puppy watching at home. 👍
Hi Linda, thanks you ever so much for sharing this adventure with us. I loved watching it and looking forward to the next episode. It brings back some great memories. We did the Great Glen Way from Inverness to Fort William and back down the Caledonian on a cruiser a few years ago. It was absolutely the best holiday we have ever had, and for the entire week we had very similar weather to what you have had these first couple of days. One evening when we moored at Laggan Locks we had a few drinks on the large barge you passed there. Cheers Dave
Aww, thanks Dave. My daughter recommended The Eagle Barge but it’s closed Mon & Tue. On my bucket list to cruise the Caledonian Canal, maybe next year. 🤞
What a great video! So chuffed for you getting out on a camping trip with Brora, super well done, the scenery and weather is fab too. You summed it up well about lows and highs, if you get through the lows, as you did on day 1, doesnt it make the highs so much more special?! 👍 For carrying dog food I copied Hounds of Howgate's approach of getting the dog his own pack! Hope to be backpacking through part of that route next month.
I did think of a pack for Brora but I felt she was still a bit young. Might look into that for subsequent hikes. Was so glad her paws were fine, not sure how she would be with those funny paw boot things. Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed. Maybe bump into you again on a hike. 👍
Just watched yer vid this morning, fantastic and looking forward to the follow ups, I know that way very well, having competed on it some years, I know that pain you are experiencing, that is some kinda pack you're carrying, well done so far, when you get to Inverness, nip into the Castle Tavern, you'll have earned a pint or two, awrabest Linda 💪☺
Great video with some amazing views and the weather looks fantastic. The way Brora ate her breakfast in the morning of day 2 made me laugh. She always looks happy and makes my day. Looking for to the rest of the trail. 😅
Just lovely Linda, thanks for sharing. I weighed my pack without water and food when I got back...23kgs! I think that's a lesson learnt for me! Looking forward to seeing the rest of the walk. 😊
OMG Emma, I have no idea how you carried that weight. I have the start of callouses on my clavicles & my hips have only just recovered. We both need ultralight gear I think. 🤣
Great video Linda, that backpack wow 😅you’ve done well not to give up well done your an inspiration to get out walking 🥾thank you looking forward to the next episode 😊
Brilliant, beautiful scenery. Well done for not giving up so soon, hip pain is my hiking enemy and it can be off putting but I carry ibuprofen, same as you and it never fails. I've subscribed 😊
@@LindaOutdoors Have you had it adjusted to fit your frame? The pressure on the hips shouldn't be too great once the straps are all pulled tight. If it persists maybe have a chat with someone in your local outdoor shop
@@pauledwards499 it’s not that adjustable, no back length adjustment. I altered the straps to suit where the pain was at the time. When the neck & shoulders were too sore, put more weight on hips & vice versa. I think it was just a bit too heavy for me. 😩
Linda , I stay 5 mins walk from that boat at the start of your video, the stretch to Gairlochy is a regular weekend cycle . Glad you had the sense to do your adventure before the midges arrive Looking forward to the series.
Really enjoyed the video Linda, great to see that you had some decent weather for it. It’s on my bucket list looks superb. That pack looked massive ,must have been a great relief to take it off at the end of the day.
Been up and down that road often the last few months doing the munros , neptune steps is a great photo location , looking forward to the rest of the walk 👍
@@LindaOutdoors I did a 56 km walk one day . The day before the walk I made a journey along the route and stashed water bottles every seven miles . It helped a great deal with not having to carry all the water . I can sympathise with your efforts . I have one of these dog leads , it keeps getting caught around my legs . I found out yesterday that I could run the bungee lead through his body brace and back up to my hip , halving the rope bungee . Then when I'm ascending I let it off to full length and he can pull me up the hill .
Rather than carry all your own food could you not have resuplied each day or is the walk too remote to get a a Shop now and then. I am thinking about doing it next month. Doing the West Highland way was bad enough carrying 12kg on my back.
The first shops are in Fort Augustus although I see there is a garage just up the road from Invergarry. I’m not comfortable will tying Brora up outside a shop which makes it difficult to rely on shops which are unlikely to be dog friendly. If I was walking with someone else it would have been much easier. 👍
@@LindaOutdoors yea I have a Alaska malamute and can't take him as he is too big to fit in my tent lol. I can't decide between this and the Rob Roy way. Plus points there is the start is only 50 min drive from my house. Much easier to get home if my ongoing knee problem flares up. Will watch part two of your trip tonight. Thanks xx
Bit concerned that you hadn't posted a video for a number of weeks. Linda Outdoors..... but .....not outdoors.....is not what we have come to expect. I hope you are OK. Best wishes.

Brora's squeeky toy set my wee one off. I'm afraid she was growling at Brora when she saw her on the telly😂
😂 Brora barks at dogs barking on the telly, I can’t watch any dog tv programs when she’s about. 😂
