- This father and son with a passion for off-roading wanted to legally drive their UTVs, utility terrain vehicles, on the road. Using their knowledge of metalworking, they welded the body of a 1972 Super Beetle onto a Polaris UTV, modifying the car to be street-legal.

So the son said he couldnt justifying buying a Razr but yet they still did and used it as a chasis… im confused. I had a Baja beetle in the 80’s i drove it to school and used it offroad/sand dunes. Im not sure what they are reinventing

The RGR is not street legal without the beetle over top of it because the beetle is what has the Vin number and plate, and is registerable, along with the RZR did not have the kit and stuff
He could not justify spending the money on a vehicle that he could not drive on the road, so he spent the money on the vehicle and made it so he could drive it on the road
I’ve never heard a stupider idea other then checking the gas tank of semi with a match
It is a diesel it wouldt catch on fire anyway

The thing's still not street legal. You need both a valid legal body VIN and chassis VIN, considering this is a body on frame vehicle from the 1970s. Depending on the state and the age of the vehicle it's the engine VIN. In this case, swapping a body VIN onto an invalid chassis VIN or even one without a VIN is a quick way to get the vehicle impounded and yourself sent to jail.
Considering this was sold to someone else according to their TikTok posts, they've just given somebody else a massive legal liability. Nice going.
