Scott I love the vids man keep it up buddy
You forgot about watermelon time
Shoot a ballistic dummy with a3 armor on it that could be......entertaining
can you try and find the 950jdj
What's the cost of each bullet? And could you shoot a atlas ball.
The sacrifice of my shoulder was totally worth it lol! What should I blast next? I hope you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching!
Thanks for the years of entertainment
I really want you to shoot pumpkins with elephant rifles and what not
.950
That hat...
You've got two shoulders, it'll be fine.
Would love to see a comparison between the 577 and the 50 BMG against an engine block, bulletproof glass, and multiple layers of the highest rated body armour. Love the content and keep up the great work, it’s great to watch and see all the guns we can’t ever get here in Canada 🇨🇦
Yes! 50bmg vs. 577 on d-ranch and dare Matt to shoot it once.
This is the only reasonable answer.
Yes yes exactly my thoughts!! Would love to see what would stop it. Love the video!
We used to be able to own them before the May 2020 OIC ban.
@@frankyg2384 Lets face it, we used to be able to do a lot of things in this country before Truedont came into power, never mind the 2020 ban. And sadly he's not done yet.
The fact that Scott has a .577 tyrannosaur and its the king of recoil is crazy when you realize the biggest T.rex specimen is named Scotty(43ft long and 9.8 tons) and is also considered the king of carnivorous dinos.
Scott vs scott!!!
The 577 is 😎 how about a segment on the time honored 300 weather by Magnum the classic All Around Rifle for Big Game.
There's a new king of recoil, the 4 Bore Rifle
"My name is Scott, his name is Scott"
Hey Scott when you did the side by side on the cz 550 it might be me but at 3:37 I believe there to be a decent crack starting just behind the bolt. Not sure if it's just a groove in the wood or something more serious, hope you're doing well.
Bro prob saved his life
Good catch!
I still have a scar on my face from a 20 gauge stock splitting on me. I can't imagine what that would do. I really hope he sees your comment.
I noticed that myself this is the second time I watched this and noticed the it also. Looks like a screw missing possibly
Definitely a Crack stay safe Scott
Scott, I noticed in the first slo-mo that the bolt handle lifted and then went back down during the recoil! Probably due to the torsion recoil. If that opens too far, you might get an unpleasant surprise. I would submit this footage to the manufacturer! Kind regards from New Zealand.
yeah man
3:37 cracked stock ..
@@lucanus8957 good eye…always watchin out nowadays
This comment honestly needs more likes.
I also noticed the bolt handle lift. To me, it is certainly a cause for concern. Cheers from Aus.
I've never seen you get tossed around before so I KNOW that thing has some recoil. the .577 was literally made to be the most powerful shoulder fired "portable" rifle ever built. They just grabbed a 577 nitro cartridge and said "why is this so small?". They then proceeded to add powder behind it until it was barely fire-able. and you still handled it like a champ!
.577 is impressive. What's more impressive it that you stuck with doing what you love doing even after that 50bmg catastrophic malfunction. Most men would have called it quits after. But Scott knows what separates the men from the boys.
Fun fact the Martini-Henry used a .577/450 round it was black powder of course but it was a beast of a round for its time.
3:37 That split in the stock that's starting just at the end of the receiver is just going to worsen over time if it's not taken care of now. I don't think you need any more rifles self-destructing on you, Scott.
As for what I'd like to see it shoot, well, since T-Rexs are in short supply, how about a 1958 Buick Roadmaster... nose to tail.
I also noticed that. Definitely needs to be taken care of
I bet its super expensive to fix that. The T-Rex has 3 liquid mercury recoil buffers in that stock...agree though needs fixin FO SHO!!! The way that thing kicks it probably adds a MM or 2 each shot...LOL
Noticed it also. Scary considering the recoil of that beast! Be safe Scott!
Yeah i saw that right away too. Hopefully it's not impossible to fix given how rare the gun is in the first place
Seen it as well. Lets up this comment so he sees it.
Would be interesting to see its head-to-head comparison with .50 BMG standard ball ammo on different hard targets like cinder blocks, class 4 armor plates etc. And on transparent ballistic gel blocks in slow motion.
Damn that sounds expensive.
.50bmg would win for sure.
Scott said that the 577 produces about 10,000 foot pounds of energy. 50bmg produces 10,000-15,000 depending on the ammo type.
If you crunch the numbers, .50 BMG is all around a more powerful round.
.50bmg is more powerful, more available, A LOT cheaper to shoot, and has a larger variety of ammo.
It’s a .600 nitro necked down to .585 with out the flange. The .577 is actually .585. An awesome rifle!
585 Nyati?
@@lms3942 the nyati is the same caliber but different case, different pressure. The nyati is loaded to lower pressure because of the heat in Africa, which cause higher pressures, which causes extraction of the cases after firing a problem. The .416 rigby is loaded this way. The .416 weatherby is the same cartridge but loaded to much higher pressures and a different shoulder.
The giggle before firing is priceless. Endless joy and happiness 😊
You need to introduce this to Matt and Brandon like you did with the first elephant rifle!
If there be Brandon...
"90k likes, and I Build AK on 500 Nitro Express or 577 Tyrannosaurus."
Scott is truly the recoil beast. Mad respect
have you seen avi from 1tufgun?
You should get one of the Intex pools to shoot instead of the water jugs!
I bet he has negativ recoil when firing low caliber XD
You might get some whiplash, from that recoil.
You mean Kentucky butt lipstick 😂
I was expected the appearance of Tactical T-Rex but i think he knows this will bring him to extinction😂
When you shot that grey poupon, I thought the explosion on the hit would end in the creation of a super-massive black hole and suck you and your truck into oblivion. Loved it but I'll pass on the .577 T-Rex, at 72 years old I really think I'd rather get shot with it than shoot it. The pain wouldn't last near as long!! Love your channel.
When retired Colonel Art Alphin founded A-Square, he decided to create the ultimate dangerous game stopping rifle, meaning a gun used by professional guides to reliably end a charge from the biggest, gnarliest, angriest critters on earth, namely African elephant, rhino, lion, and Cape buffalo.
He company was short lived, but he unquestionably achieved his goal with the Hannibal rifle chambered in .577 T-Rex.
Scott is literally the only person that has handled that thing with relative ease! Dude is a gentle beast
I'll say. The video he's talking about has been around since the early 2000s, because I remember showing it to all my college friends and I graduated in 2003. It's hilarious. One guy fires the gun, if flies out of his hands and he goes down like he was punched in the face, then crawls around on the floor saying "Where's the door? Where's the damn door?"
@@Bacteriophagebs absolutely hilarious. I remember that perfectly. It definitely looked like a punch on the chin 🤣
Yes he is.
Saeed’s old videos are great. One of his victims just loses the hearing protection during the shot - looks very painful 😁 Not to mention Saeed’s hilarious laughter begins the camera as the guys go down one by one 😁
There was one guy in the video Scott refers to who was definitely a professional, because he handled with ease the same rifle that had been knocking the crap out of all the other guys.
He just stood there with a wide stance and allowed his entire body to rock backward to better spread the punch over a wider surface area.
People who know how to handle heavy caliber dangerous game rifles stand with one foot well forward of the other and basically turn their entire bodies into a big rocking chair to absorb the recoil.
Handles that recoil like a champ bro. Way to go Scott.
4:50 Matt got flicked 😂😂😂
I’d love to see bulletproof glass with a side by side comparison to 50 bmg. Love the videos thanks Scott!
I'd love to see that too.
12" of laminated 1/4" Lexan polycarbonate.
I'd love to see you revisit your toughest targets with this rifle! Things like the atlas stones for example. What an absolute mammoth of a firearm. You're one of the most fitting owners for such a powerful rifle!
I want to see it shoot an MRAP
Yes that would be great
These do not make a great squirrel gun, inconsistent neck tension aside, the squirrels object, and make a mess of the dies.
YES
Now that was absolutely incredible, awesome. Thanks for sharing.
dang though, that rifle already looks huge-and Scott is a pretty big guy! i cant even imagine how big it really is, to hold such a rifle, let alone fire it.
That’s what she said…
Scott: “4 out of 5 dentists do NOT recommend I do this.”
The one dentist that did: *”HELL YEAH BROTHER!!!”*
I’ve never seen anyone handle recoil like Scott... I get that he’s a pretty big guy but 500 magnums 500 nitros and now a 577 and it still looks tame.... very impressive control
Especially when you consider that most videos of people shootin this bad boy, most likely for the first time... Are unable to hold on to the gun and it goes flying across the room wile they stay behind or they both leave there original position by a few to several feet.
I mean... His forearms are as thick as my neck.
That is impressive. Big guy ,though and used to rifles blowing to his face. Biggest that i have shot is .500 Jeffery and it is not even close to this, made me flinch but this one would maybe wreck my shoulder. Or not, i guess it is near 100$ a shot.
@@veli-pekkamalmi5546 It's probably _over_ $100/round, because he's said that the .700 Nitro Express costs that much.
You forgot about the 700 nitro
Incredible. Insane. Loved it. Your pain is our pleasure! Thank you!
Use a hollow point and see what it does in ballistics gel that would be cool. Also you should set a cinder block wall and put some of the ballistic gel dummies behind it and see what it does to the dummies after the bullet penetrates the wall.
Do they make hollow point elephant cartridges
Scott, your .577 has a fairly significant crack in the stock right behind the bolt.
I would highly recommend getting that fixed or get a new stock. The forces involved here could splinter that stock like a grenade.
Don't need another (preventable) accident.
How could he prevent a 50 cal explosion with slap rounds that shot out perfectly fine before that accident
@@Liamisdead99 By knowing the source of the ammunition. Shooting exotic rounds without provenance was where he went wrong. If he really wanted to shoot them he should have had them reloaded to spec.
You can see it at 3:37
It's visible at 3:37
I saw that crack too. I'd like to see it again after he just shot those 3 rounds.
10:06 That is literally insane. It cut the three blocks in half. I’ve been watching your channel a long time and have NEVER seen anything like that.
My thoughts exactly!!! My jaw just dropped open when I saw that.
Wow impressive!!!! the slo-mo was great
you've become a star... thanks for sharing, gracias, enjoy
I would’ve loved to see Matt shooting this gun when he was in the harness trying to see how far the recoil of guns would push him back 😂😂
Matt is a beta compared to KB
That would be an interesting collab video, getting others to shoot these huge guns.
Sorry, who cares about Matt? I bloody don't. I watch KB because of Scott. Not much interested in collaborations.
@@ianrawlings2546 oOOoOo how edgy, we got a UA-cam channel hipster here. Pls tell me how you discovered it before everyone else 🏆
@@ianrawlings2546 bold of you to assume anyone cares what you think.
I would really like to see what this does to a fully intact Atlas stone. Those cinder blocks looked like card board, but I saw that old stone in the background and thought that might stand a chance of slowing it down. It would certainly make a big ole splody crack that would be super entertaining.
When he as looking around at the poupon everything, I saw the Atlas stone & was hoping he was going to roll it out of the woods.
I liked seeing how the other large bore rifles tackled the bowling balls a few months ago. I think I'd rather see that than the atlas stones personally.
@@garrettstevens2232 I mean, it'd zip right through a bowling ball. It would indeed be cool to see. I want to see something stop it though.
That could probably be a WWII anti tank gun.
@@maxbennett5412 it’s older brother the 577NE was back when tank armor was relatively thin now it’s impossible but through the 14.5 which Is 57 cal it still is an anti material rifle
Awesome very powerful! Thank you.
You have introduced some bigger shells since this one, but this T-Rex is still my favorite. I love the way it blows up these soft targets! - Brian
Scott is without a doubt the King of Recoil!
There’s no way that rifle is fun to shoot even with it’s incredible energy transfer!
Incredible, very glad to see you managed to get a rifle in this cartridge! Next you should try the .950 JDJ.
For sure
How about 20mm instead
@@Shaggy_Rogers0001 why not both?
@@tylerrobbins8311 Exactly.
@@tylerrobbins8311 because it would be too expensive, and I'd much rather see 14.5x114mm or 20mm!
“Rumor is this gun kicks harder than any other rifle you could shoulder fire.”
The 4 bore rifle would like to set the record straight.
When you shot the 3 cinder blocks, that is not what I expected. Even a 50 bmg won't go through two blocks. This is just insane.
The governor/terminator accent will NEVER get old!!!
It's like Arnie is in the room with me!
An old iron engine block with all the internals would be a cool target to test the penetration power.
that would be uber cool too
I know it would be extremely expensive but I'd love to see a video of running engines being shot to see what calibers you need to stop moving vehicles
Absolutely bonkers! Love it
First video that I’ve seen from you and I have to say, I love the humor and the information received making these videos. Subscribed and liked.
First off, I like the Jaws reference... and i think this gun definitely would've killed Jaws without the scuba tank. Second, you've gotta shoot body armor! AR500, soft armor, and other stuff with a ballistic gel dummy behind it to see what the energy transfer does.
While expensive and difficult to manage, I think seeing this against a running motor in a car would be pretty fascinating. It takes quite a bit to stop a car motor normally (particularly in one shot), but something tells me this would do it with style...
That just reminds me of the Russian riot shotgun that basically fires 40mm grenades >_>''
Can't you make your own ammo or is there some laws/regulations against that in US? I'm sure the gunpowder, primer and cast your own projectile has to be a lot cheaper than actually buying the cartridge? It's not like it's rocket science since you know exactly what type of gunpowder and how much you need. Reminds me older muzzleloaders, but there might be quite a bit of regulations against that I'm guessing?
Its not hard to stop a car engine in one shot. A .50BMG manages it in one shot, all you have to do is shoot it once. That is literally what the Barrett .50BMG rifles are for, anti-materiel rifles.
@@SleeprunnerInc KS-23 if I'm correct. Would be cool seeing Scott shoot slugs out of that beast.
@@huldu you can do your own re-loads where you put a fresh bullet, primer and powder in the casing. There are videos on UA-cam that show you the process doing your own re-loads.
Would love to see you take the 577 squirrel hunting!
You made gains !
Awesome !
Keep going !
Another absolutely marvelous intro. You have never let me down sir - always top notch. I love the recurring characters in the KB universe. Wonderful stuff.
The KCU.
The 577 has a split in the stock where it beds in near the safety and the mounting screw.
10:14 holy crap!! Cinder blocks are really good at stopping bullets even Big Bore stuff the fact that it busted 3 like nothing is freaking crazy!!! If I lived in Alaska that would be my grizzly bear gun
Chuck Norris can dual wield that 577 Tyrannosaur rifle...in his sleep! All jokes aside Scott, that rifle is a beast and it takes a beast to fire it! Mad respect bro!
Scott, you’re becoming the “Jay Leno” of elephant rifles. Modern, vintage, and rare collectibles. I love seeing you shoot them all. Now you need to invent a simulated elephant head analog target so we can see what these rifles and bullets would do to their intended target without actually killing an endangered species.
I just popped in to literally say that he's the Jay Leno of guns. Great minds and whatnot. 😆🤙🏾
do not replicate shooting elephants.
they have a hard enough time without giving people ideas.
But Leno went Woke .
@@kevinhamblin951 see he? Bummer...
That would take an obscene amount of ballistic gelatin calibrated to non standard specs.
And this rifle was built for an extinct species. Lol
Scott, I have always wanted to see someone shoot a running engine through the cylinders on slow motion. Whether it's with a T-Rex or a 50 BMG, I think it would be spectacular
200% agree, i never thought of that but now that im thinking of it. it would be an awesome idea. idk if i should write a comment of that idea because it might be considered rude to (steal) your idea but that would increase the chances of scott reading that idea.
Some one call the slomo guys let’s get a collab going
@@a110d2 he could take an old tired Honda or Briggs and “Scrap Iron” go kart motor, and cut the aluminum crankcase sides for some internal visuals. He could then put some grease in the rod bearings and case bearings etc to make it last for a minute without oil, and then shoot it before it locks up. Maybe ?
@@tacomas9602 No, I'm talking about a full size V8 or diesel engine running at 2500 rpm. This would show a amazing display of the carnage that these guns are capable of
If they ever make an open world, fully rendered version of isla sorna or isla nublar, where you parachute out to a random point on the island and have to scavenge, repair, craft, and explore your way to safety, this needs to be the DLC rifle you unlock by clipping the UPC’s on your ammo boxes.
1/24 congrats, what a beautiful rifle and.. incredible power.
Man, this rifle really kicks like a T-rex. I would be very interested to see a side by side comparison between this and a 700 Nitro Express. Anyone agree?
i agree
Yes definitely!!!!°
My 577 five shot revolver has real kick.
You bet your biggest bullet bucket I'm in total agreement on that.
From what i have read, the 577 is definetly stronger, but we have to see it.
Seeing as the energy is similar, I think anything that's .577 VS .50 BMG would be interesting.
Awesome!!! That thing is a monster bro I felt sorry for your shoulder watching that!
years ago I saw a bolt action single shot that fired a 50 BMG cut to 3" with a SHARP shoulder and .577 bullet, AWESOME penetration and POWER.. it was for Cape Buffalo in 10' tall grass, shots are at feet not yards, so a second shot was not needed....
Definitely curious to see how one of our targets would hold up 😅
Send over 10, see how many it will shoot through lol
Ever since you started your elephant rifle journey, I've been waiting for this moment. That penetration is a completely new level that I've not seen before. Thanks for your sacrifice Scott!
You are the reason Walmart is always out of folding tables!
Or ammunition
I don't know how I didn't see this video just looking down the list. That gun is insane. It's my new favorite rifle. Glad you are one of the people that own one Scott. Out of anyone I could think of you should definitely be 1 of the 12 people in the US who own one of those rare beasts. 👉👍
I own 2 of these rifles, video of both on my channel. I only know of 1 other person to ever own 2 of them, right now I'm likely the only person on Earth to own 2 of them. Happy to see him get one, they are nearly impossible to find, rarely come up for sale once every few years.
Now this is absolutely impressive,at first i even thought it wouldn't be that much compared to the .700!
Congrats for your newest addition, and if you are willing, try to shoot at a running engine, I bet it can split the crankshaft in half.
Also a magnesium block would be fun, try not to cause a fire thought.
What I've never understood, is why hunters bother with these specialized cartridges/rifles, when a 50 BMG would be far cheaper, and more effective.
@@viktordamask2680 50 BMG is generally a round meant for penetration whereas these hunting rounds dump all their energy on impact almost or sometimes completely killing the target. If a bull had body armor on and you used a 50 BMG the 50 would just tear through the armor and hit the target whereas if you used a hunting round, when the bullet comes in contact with the armor it doesn't go through the armor but rather punches the armor into the target. It's like the difference between a standard 557 and a shotgun slug. one penetrates while the other punches.
@@christiankirby8092 While that may be the case for most 50 BMG rounds, I think the 750 grain A-Max would do quite well. Both with penetration, and transferring energy to the target.
@@viktordamask2680 true they are both big rounds going quite fast with a lot of mass so I guess they would pull off the same thing.

Scott, in case one of the other commenter's hasn't mentioned it, at 3:37 in your video, it appears you have a small crack in your stock on the .577. Be careful and get it checked! Don't want to see you take that kind of recoil to the face.
I was going to say the same.
Maybe see if you can get Mark Novak from Anvil to check it (and a video of the repair 😉)
Yeah i just re-watched the video and i see it to
I saw it too a small one on the top
I just went back and replayed that at the 3:37 min mark and you’re right it does look like a crack directly in line with the barrel that’s something I didn’t catch in the first video but I’m glad you’re bringing it to his knowledge and he really does need to know that! He surely doesn’t need another incident like the RN 50. Thanks for sharing
The bolt lift at 7:12 is even more alarming.
That was.... AWESOME! There is ONE gun however that dwarves the t-Rex, and that would be the 950 JDJ! I don't know how you would ever get your hands on one, but I feel like it is the only thing missing in your ridiculous recoil journey.
What say you Kentucky Ballistics? Are you up to the challenge of taking on the journey to find and shoot the unicorn that is the 950?
Do GUNtucky proud!
I think there are like only 3 of them or something. And there is no way to make ammo.
@@michaelbaker8284 When there is a will, there is a way. I'm sure someone could figure out how to make the cartridges and bullets. Bullets would be the easy part as you can just machine them out of solid copper or brass, the casing would be the hard part.

Your 577 is amazing.. went through everything like a hot knife through butter. Actual trex was 40ft long 12ft high and probably 4-5ft wide. Would love to see your 577 shoot through 5 ft of meat and bones...just a thought
The fact that the recoil is even to much for you says alot about just how hard that rifle recoils. You should get a .950JDJ!
.460 Weatherby is another round that's known to break that 10,000ft-lbs of muzzle energy. The one I shot weighed about 15lbs and had one hell of a muzzle brake so it didn't recoil much worse than a heavy .30-06 but it's definitely a powerhouse

11:35 Maybe you need a new and improved high tech fleece bullet stop behind those water jugs?
The thing that I noticed about this behemoth of a rifle is its stock profile. It's created in such a way so the barrel is as much as possible leveled with the stock and parallel to shooter's shoulder so it will prevent as much as the flip up of the gun.
That's pretty neet.
Even the grip is basically a big wooden shaft parallel to the stock, assuming it's to prevent the gun breaking in that place from the sheer force of that 577 round
and it still has cracked...
The stock makes it easier to aim but, like an old double shotgun, the design also focuses the recoil into a straight line.
I also noticed the small crack behind the receiver.
A SQUARE designed these stocks to be wider at the butt to help spread out the recoil over more of your shoulder.
Found a video where the rifle manufacturer said the stock also has several mercury filled inertia capsules in the stock to reduce recoil, he also said the 460 Weatherby Magnum is worse recoil, whereas the .577 is a big "push" rather than a sharp slap. That's his words.
Scott, you mentioned one of your gun (the .700 I think) was $100 per round. Where does this fall in that? If only 24 of those were made, I imagine finding ammunition for it has to be really hard.
I saw 20 rounds being sold for $1000.
I would think that reloading your own is a must. The company has been out of business for years.

That thing dumped SO MUCH energy into those water jugs. I'm really curious as to what it would do with some soft point rounds. I'm also really curious to see what it would do to a 55 gallon drum size block of ballistics gel.
hmm... maybe if its in a 55 gallon drum, that should be interesting, definitely one to do behind shelter though, the shrapnel could go anywhere
The pressures involved with this Cartridge might not allow for the use of Soft point bullets, many of the large dangerous game cartridges use solids, as Jackets, (Cup&Core) would strip off the bullet as it goes down the barrel.
I'm pretty sure irregardless of where it hit a 577 would probably be lethal unless it was a toe or finger
It's not going 5000 fps. It won't have cove separation..22-250 might at 4500 fps.with V max 35 grain
@@beardo52 Inside the barrel, the jacket is a cup the core rides in. You're not going to just blow the core out of the jacket inside the barrel.
That was THE coolest slow-mo of a shoulder dislocation that I have EVER seen! 😮
Dude so awesome love your way of doing messing it up bowling ball would be cool with the 577
Intro was absolutely amazing!

The fact that Scott now owns one of only 24 of the biggest rifles to exist is unexplainably cool!
now he just needs to be able to shoot fat mac
There a bigger one the 950 jdm. Wieghs 110 pounds and shoots a 2000 grain bullet
@@joshlower1 biggest shouldered rifle lol
@@joshlower1 I could be wrong, but I believe once the bore size reaches 20mm, that weapon is now considered a cannon. .950 in metric is 24.13mm. The page I found with some info on that firearm said that the manufacturer had to get an exemption from ATF to have it not be labelled as a destructive device, in order to be able to sell it normally on the reatil market.
@@dylanfarley8136 yes to has to be specified that it's being used for sporting purposes. That why you can get away with owning a .950 JDM
I want to see a competition between You, Matt, and Brandon on who has the easiest time shooting this weapon. I'm talking least amount of pushback and who can just take that shoulder punch. By the way I'd love to meet you all one of these days keep it up man
Edit: I need to see a ballistics zombie shot by this thing
Scott. Hands down
Matt will cry .
I would say Scott, Brandon, them Matt...
I think Matt would actually shoot the rifle the best, but the recoil, would absolutely wreck him... 🙈🙈🙈🙈
Take Jello, place in blender, toss in air
Man I'm really rooting for Matt but I have a feeling he has no chance
If you took that recoil to the eye thru a scope... unbelievable that a man can actually shoulder that
I'm soooooo glad you said " that's what she said" 🤣🤣
That intro already cracking me up, man. Too good.
Look forward to the rifle, I remember these from the earlier days of gun fails. Throwing dudes shoulders out.
I'm looking for a big bore rifle because of you, I'll send the shoulder repair bill your way
Nice to see Matt guest starring and helping with the bullet comparison!😄😄😄😆
WOW! My shoulder hurts from just watching.
